The Toronto Blue Jays signed compensation first-round draft pick P Matt Smoral to a deal with a $2 million signing bonus. He received double the $1 million slot recommendation.

Toronto Blue Jays compensation draft choices P Tyler Gonzales and P Matthew Smoral said there are getting closer to agreeing to terms with the Blue Jays. Both are heading to the team's spring training facility to undergo physicals.
