Dodgers | Corey Seager, Yasmani Grandal return

Fri, 22 Jul 2016 15:14:12 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SS Corey Seager (illness) and C Yasmani Grandal (illness) are both back in the starting lineup against St. Louis Cardinals SP Michael Wacha Friday, July 22. Seager is hitting second and Grandal slots in at No. 6 in the batting order.

Fantasy Tip: Seager missed three games with an illness this week but appears fine now. Get him back into all lineups immediately. The young shortstop is an elite fantasy commodity at his position with a .301 average, 17 home runs and 43 RBI. Grandal's overall .206/.321/.425 line looks bad, but he's come on strong in July with a .317 average, six home runs and nine RBI. Consider adding him if he's out there in two-catcher or NL-only leagues.

Los Angeles Dodgers SS Corey Seager (illness) is out of the lineup Thursday, July 21, for the third straight day due to a stomach virus. SS Chris Taylor is hitting sixth.

Fantasy Tip: Taylor is hitting .286, but he faces a tough matchup against Stephen Strasburg. He doesn't have enough upside to warrant a start in the bad matchup.

Dodgers | Corey Seager sitting against Washington

Wed, 20 Jul 2016 14:52:10 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SS Corey Seager is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, July 20. INF Charlie Culberson draws into the lineup at shortstop and is batting eighth against Washington Nationals SP Gio Gonzalez Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Seager is a top-tier option at the 6 and should be started confidently in all fantasy formats. For the season, he sits with an impressive 63 runs, 17 home runs, 43 RBI and .301/.360/.528 slash line. Culberson is nothing more than a desperation start in all fantasy formats Wednesday.

Los Angeles Dodgers SS Corey Seager is not in the starting lineup against Washington Nationals SP Reynaldo Lopez Tuesday, July 19. SS Chris Taylor will start at shortstop and is batting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Taylor has recorded five hits and six RBI over the last two games and can be considered as a deep sleeper in daily fantasy leagues but does lose some value since he is hitting at the bottom of the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Seager, who earlier in the day became the youngest position player in Dodgers history to be named to the All-Star Game, doubled in the first to extend his streak. The 22-year-old is hitting a cool .405 (30-for-74) during the streak and has scored 16 times, though his power numbers (2 HRs, 5 RBI) have been modest. Seager is a must-start in all formats.

Dodgers | Corey Seager blasts eighth HR of June

Thu, 30 Jun 2016 16:47:35 -0700

Fantasy Tip: Seager has quickly established himself as one of the game's best rising young shortstops, and with a .299/.359/.540 line go alongside solid power numbers, the 22-year-old could wind up an All-Star in his first big league season.

Dodgers | Monday Dodgers lineup light

Mon, 27 Jun 2016 07:04:01 -0700

Los Angeles Dodgers SS Corey Seager, 1B Adrian Gonzalez, 2B Chase Utley, OF Joc Pederson and C Yasmani Grandal are out of the lineup Monday, June 27. OF Enrique Hernandez is leading off, OF Trayce Thompson is hitting third, 1B Scott Van Slyke is hitting sixth, C A.J. Ellis hit seventh and SS Chris Taylor hits eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Thompson has struggled this month, but he has upside in the three-hole against Francisco Liriano. Hernandez and Van Slyke are worth low-end consideration against the lefty. Ellis and Taylor don't move the needle much.
