Cardinals | Stephen Piscotty sitting out

Thu, 27 Aug 2015 16:20:43 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals OF Stephen Piscotty is not in the starting lineup against Arizona Diamondbacks SP Rubby De La Rosa Thursday, Aug. 27. OF Brandon Moss will start in left field and is batting sixth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Piscotty ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) likely is receiving a day off and should return soon. Moss ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) is hitting only .190 with one RBI this month and probably is not a great starting option.

Cardinals | Kolten Wong back up the order

Fri, 07 Aug 2015 14:06:16 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals 2B Kolten Wong is hitting second against Milwaukee Brewers SP Tyler Cravy Friday, Aug. 7. The move sends OF Stephen Piscotty to the eighth spot in the batting order.

Fantasy Tip: A move back to the top of the order for Wong ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) definitely makes him more attractive to daily players. All St. Louis bats tonight might be worth a look on FantasyScore against Cravy, who is making only his third start this year.

Cardinals | Stephen Piscotty starting at first base

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 15:57:02 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals OF Stephen Piscotty is starting at first base and batting eighth against Cincinnati Reds SP Anthony DeSclafani Wednesday, July 29. 1B Mark Reynolds is not in the starting lineup Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Piscotty ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) is 6-for-18 with two runs, a double and two RBI over his first seven games in the majors. There is upside at his cap hit, but FantasyScore players and seasonal owners would love to see him hitting higher in the batting order. He is nothing more than a flier for daily contests batting eight.

Cardinals | Matt Holliday resting

Mon, 27 Jul 2015 14:46:25 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals OF Matt Holliday is not in the starting lineup Monday, July 27. OF Stephen Piscotty is starting in left field and hitting sixth against Cincinnati Reds SP Raisel Iglesias.

Fantasy Tip: Piscotty ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) has four hits in his first 12 at-bats (.333) for the Cardinals after being called up last week. He's mainly a line-drive hitter that is developing a power stroke, and he can also run a little bit. You can do much worse than Piscotty when searching for an under-the-radar value play at outfield.
