Colorado Rockies OF David Dahl went 1-for-4 with his first major league home run against the Baltimore Orioles Wednesday, July 27.

Rockies | No Charlie Blackmon vs. Orioles

Wed, 27 Jul 2016 12:52:52 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF Charlie Blackmon is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, July 27. 2B DJ LeMahieu is leading off, and OF David Dahl is batting second against Baltimore Orioles SP Dylan Bundy Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Sub out Blackmon where you can in seasonal leagues. There isn't a lot of fantasy impact to LeMahieu jumping into the leadoff spot, but Dahl hitting second boosts his value. Dahl is 2-for-8 to start his career, and he's worth adding in deep leagues while being a player to watch in all formats.

Rockies | David Dahl debuts in left field

Mon, 25 Jul 2016 14:32:53 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF David Dahl is making his major league debut and is starting in left field and batting sixth against Baltimore Orioles SP Yovani Gallardo Monday, July 25.

Fantasy Tip: Dahl is a notable outfield prospect who should immediately be added in dynasty and keeper leagues if he hasn't been already. He was crushing at Class AAA Albuquerque with a .484 average (30-for-62) with five homers and 16 RBI, and he also had 16 steals with Class AA Hartford. He can do it all, and with regular playing time, he can even help those in many mixed leagues down the stretch.

Colorado Rockies OF David Dahl will be called up to the majors Monday, July 25, for a series against the Baltimore Orioles.

Rockies | David Dahl tearing apart Class AA

Fri, 03 Jun 2016 15:37:18 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF David Dahl leads Class AA Hartford in runs (37), doubles (16), home runs (11), RBI (35) and stolen bases (13). However, Dahl said his 24 walks are the best sign of his improvements at the plate.

"I changed my approach after the first two weeks of the season," Dahl said. "The walks show I'm being more selective at the plate."

Fantasy Tip: Colorado prospects receive the added fantasy boost of playing their home games at hitter-friendly Coors Field, and Dahl could push for a promotion at some point this season. It is likely too early to view him as a stash candidate in the majority of seasonal leagues, but he should be on your radar. In cavernous mixed and NL-only formats, you'll want to monitor him even closer.

Rockies | David Dahl back to playing

Thu, 03 Mar 2016 16:32:13 -0800

Colorado Rockies OF David Dahl (spleen) is back on the field in spring training after having his spleen removed last May. He'll most likely start the year with Class AAA Albuquerque, but there's a good chance he'll make his major league debut at some point in 2016.

Fantasy Tip: Dahl put up a slash line of .278/.304/.417 in 302 plate appearances for Class AA New Britain last year. He has the ability to develop plus power at a hitter's paradise in Coors Field, and he also displays nice speed. Keep him on your radar in dynasty/keeper leagues for now.

Rockies | David Dahl having spleen removed

Mon, 01 Jun 2015 11:27:29 -0700

Colorado Rockies OF David Dahl (spleen) will have surgery to remove his spleen Monday, June 1, four days after being involved in a serious collision while playing at Class AA. He is hoping to return in four to six weeks after initially fearing he would miss the rest of the season. The recovery time is similar to that of having an appendix removed. Dahl was hitting .269 with a .675 OPS in 44 games for New Britain.

Fantasy Tip: Dahl, the team's No. 2 prospect per MLB.com, could find it hard to earn a promotion to the major leagues after suffering this serious injury. As a lefty with power to all fields, he'll be especially intriguing playing home games at Coors Field. For now, consider him a stash option in deep dynasty and keeper leagues.
