St. Louis Cardinals SP Michael Wacha (shoulder) received positive news from his MRI Monday, Aug. 18, and he felt so good he threw a bullpen session. Manager Mike Matheny observed a 35-pitch session of fastballs and changeups, and said Wacha threw at 75-80 percent effort. Wacha will throw again Wednesday, Aug. 20, and will ratchet up the intensity.
Fantasy Tip: There is no public timeline for when Wacha will be able to return to the big club. Fantasy owners should not drop him, and they need to be patient.

"It definitely feels strong. It feels alive, really." The team remains optimistic that Wacha can return to pitch this year.
Fantasy Tip: Be patient. Wacha probably won't return this month as he works back from his arm woes. However, he could still make an impact in the final full month of the season. Continue stashing him everywhere.

Fantasy Tip: Obviously, continue to stash Wacha everywhere, until now. If he has another setback, though, that'll likely be game over for the rest of his season. With a throwing program and a minor league rehab assignment, he could be ready sometime in September.
