Minnesota Twins OF Byron Buxton (concussion) is not expected to play another game in the minor leagues this season, according to general manager Terry Ryan. The team is hopeful that Buxton, who is dealing with a concussion, can play in the Arizona Fall League.

Fantasy Tip: Despite the season-ending injury, he remains a must-have in all long-term fantasy keeper formats. He is one of the top prospects in baseball, and he is likely to start out at Double-A New Britain in 2015.

Minnesota Twins OF Byron Buxton (concussion) was placed on the 7-day concussion disabled list with Double-A New Britain Thursday, Aug. 14. Buxton was treated and released from hospital Wednesday, Aug. 13, after he collided with a teammate.

Fantasy Tip: Buxton remains a must-own player in long-term keeper/dynasty formats.

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Twins OF Byron Buxton (concussion) suffered a concussion during a collision with Double-A New Britain teammate OF Mike Kvasnicka, general manager Terry Ryan confirmed Tuesday, Aug. 13. Buxton suffered no other injuries, and he is sidelined at least seven days.

Fantasy Tip: Buxton was on the ground and motionless for a while, and this certainly looked like it could be much worse when it initially happened. A concussion is serious, but at least he did not suffer any kind of long-term injury. He remains a top-level prospect and must-have for those in long-term keeper fantasy formats.

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Twins OF Byron Buxton (shoulder, neck) suffered an apparent shoulder or neck injury in his first game for Double-A New Britain Wednesday, Aug. 13 in a collision with OF Mike Kvasnicka. Twins vice president of player personnel Mike Radcliff said he had been told Buxton "was responsive after the collision." Both outfielders were taken to the hospital after the collision.

Fantasy Tip: Buxton is one of the top prospects in all of baseball, but a nagging left wrist injury has robbed him of most of the season. He remains a must-have for those in long-term keeper formats, but fantasy owners in non-keeper leagues need not stash him, as a September call-up is looking less and less likely by the day.

Minnesota Twins minor league OF Byron Buxton (wrist), currently playing for Class A Fort Myers, has not been in the starting lineup for the past two games after he was hit on the right wrist by a pitched ball Friday, July 18. Buxton had been sidelined for most of the season because of a left wrist injury.
