Updating previous reports, the Minnesota Twins signed second overall pick OF Byron Buxton to a deal with a $6 million signing bonus.

The Minnesota Twins reached an agreement with first-round pick OF Byron Buxton Monday, June 11, pending a physical. Terms of the deal were undisclosed. Buxton is expected to begin his pro career with the team's rookie league team in Fort Myers, Fla., with a chance to advance to Elizabethton, Tenn., of the Appalachian League.

The Minnesota Twins are nearing a deal with OF Byron Buxton. The representatives of the team's first round pick of the 2012 MLB Draft is expected to be in town early next week, and there is optimism a deal could be completed by Wednesday, June 13.
