Minnesota Twins OF Byron Buxton (wrist) is scheduled to take batting practice Wednesday, April 23, and he could play in an extended spring game Thursday, April 24.
Fantasy Tip: The best-case scenario is probably that Buxton is a September call-up this year. Wrist injuries often hurt a player's power production, too, so you'll have to keep an eye out for that. Buxton is a much better buy for the 2015 season now.

Minnesota Twins OF Byron Buxton (wrist) is expected to resume baseball activities soon and will start his season at extended spring training. He's likely to report to Class AA sometime in May.
Fantasy Tip: Entering spring training, Buxton was one of baseball's top prospects and a likely candidate to make a big fantasy impact. The wrist injury has put a damper on that excitement. Depending on how he recovers, Buxton probably won't realistically make an impact at the major league level this year until late in the year.

Minnesota Twins OF Byron Buxton (wrist) remains out with a sprained left wrist, and team said that Buxton might start the year on the minor league disabled list. He is projected to open the year with Double-A New Britain. Buxton injured his wrist diving for a fly ball 10 days ago and has not played since. He still has soreness in his wrist when he swings, but an MRI exam showed no structural damage Saturday, March 22. The official injury is a sprain of the pisotriquetral joint, which can be slow to heal, and he'll likely be out another couple of weeks.
Fantasy Tip: Buxton was high on the list of prospects likely to make a big impact in the big leagues this year, but this will obviously set his timetable back. The Twins won't rush him, and Buxton will have to prove he's completely healthy before Minnesota considers bringing him up. That probably won't be at least until later this summer, now.

Fantasy Tip: Buxton is one of the top prospects entering the 2014 season, but the Twins want him to receive some more minor league seasoning first. There's a decent chance he's up later this year, so he's more of a speculative target in AL-only leagues if you're prospecting.
