Astros | Carlos Correa will not start

Sun, 17 Apr 2016 10:35:05 -0700

Houston Astros SS Carlos Correa is not in the starting lineup against Detroit Tigers SP Anibal Sanchez Sunday, April 17. SS Marwin Gonzalez will start at shortstop and is batting seventh in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Gonzalez has struggled early this season with only two hits in 15 at-bats. Owners in all leagues should be able to find better players to use and should avoid Gonzalez for the time being.

Mon, 11 Apr 2016 23:51:24 -0700

Houston Astros SS Carlos Correa went 3-for-5 with a double, run scored and two RBIs Monday, April 11, against the Kansas City Royals.

Fantasy Tip: Correa has three multi-hit games and three multi-RBI games through his first seven starts. He has been everything as advertised and has already emerged as a must-start fantasy stud at just 21 years old.

Astros | Carlos Correa posts giant stat line

Wed, 06 Apr 2016 22:32:20 -0700

Houston Astros SS Carlos Correa went 4-for-5 with two solo home runs Wednesday, April 6, against the New York Yankees. He is the youngest player with a four-hit, two-homer game as a visitor since the old Yankee Stadium opened in 1923.

Fantasy Tip: Correa has been everything as advertised for the Astros, and fantasy owners who jumped on him in the early rounds have likely fired out of the chute in their respective leagues.

Astros | Carlos Correa tears through spring

Mon, 28 Mar 2016 18:59:30 -0700

Houston Astros SS Carlos Correa entered play Monday, March 28, with a .432 average (16-for-37), three doubles, a triple, a team-best four homers, nine RBIs and a team-leading 1.424 OPS in Grapefruit League spring play.

Fantasy Tip: Correa has been everything as advertised and is showing why he is flying off the board in all fantasy formats in the early rounds. This kid is legit.

Astros | Carlos Correa posting gaudy numbers

Wed, 23 Mar 2016 12:28:08 -0700

Houston Astros SS Carlos Correa hit his third home run of the spring Tuesday, March 22, and he's hitting .414 with a .500 on-base percentage and .793 slugging percentage in 11 games over 29 at-bats this spring. Correa's goal this year is to hit 30 home runs.

Fantasy Tip: Twenty two home runs in just 387 at-bats in his rookie season shows just the kind of potential this kid has at an extremely thin position. However, Correa hits too many ground balls to bank on a repeat in the power department, but he's still worth taking in the first round of fantasy drafts for his blossoming upside.

Fri, 11 Mar 2016 13:42:00 -0800

Houston Astros SS Carlos Correa went 3-for-4 against the Detroit Tigers on Friday, March 11, to lift his spring batting average to .500.

Fantasy Tip: The 2015 American League Rookie of the Year is an elite offensive contributor at a shallow position and worthy of a first-round pick in drafts this month.

Astros | Carlos Correa grabs Rookie of the Year

Mon, 16 Nov 2015 16:02:37 -0800

Houston Astros SS Carlos Correa received the American League Rookie of the Year Award Monday, Nov. 16.

Fantasy Tip: Correa exploded onto the scene in June and returned 52 runs, 22 home runs, 68 RBI and 14 stolen bases with a .279/.345/.512 slash line through 432 plate appearances. He is an elite offensive contributor at a shallow position, and he'll be worth considering as early as the first round in drafts this spring.

Astros | Carlos Correa makes history

Mon, 12 Oct 2015 14:39:51 -0700

Houston Astros SS Carlos Correa's 11 total bases during Game 4 of the American League Division Series Monday, Oct. 12, were the most by any shortstop in postseason history, and the second most by any player on a losing team ever in the playoffs.

Fantasy Tip: Correa ($5,100, 10.2% of cap) was just 3-for-17 without an extra-base hit through his first four playoff games, so his two-home run, 4-for-4 showing Monday was a nice boost for FantasyScore players. However, and while it doesn't count in fantasy terms, he made costly mistakes in the field. Still, entering Game 5, Correa is a strong option at shortstop for FantasyScore players.

Sat, 03 Oct 2015 05:07:48 -0700

Houston Astros SS Carlos Correa went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI and four runs scored against the Arizona Diamondbacks Friday, Oct. 2.

Fantasy Tip: Correa ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) has had a very successful rookie season and is hitting .360 with three home runs and nine RBI over the last seven days. Owners should consider him as a starting option for the final two games of the regular season.

Astros | Carlos Correa hits two homers

Sun, 27 Sep 2015 00:07:01 -0700

Houston Astros SS Carlos Correa hit two home runs Saturday, Sept. 26, as the Astros defeated the Texas Rangers 9-7. Correa's pair of homers were among six hit by the team.

Fantasy Tip: Correa ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) has a .282 average and a .520 slugging percentage after his latest multi-hit showcase. His price is still low enough to make him a viable FantasyScore option every time out.
