Rangers | Colby Lewis avoids serious injury

Sat, 21 May 2016 04:36:31 -0700

Texas Rangers RP Colby Lewis (head) overcame a serious injury during his team's game Friday, May 20, against the Houston Astros. Astros SS Carlos Correa hit a line drive that bounced off Lewis' glove that had been secured to the back of his head. Lewis went on to pitch seven scoreless innings in a 2-1 win.

Fantasy Tip: It was dedication for Lewis, who wanted to stay on the field badly. Lewis (3-0) allowed four hits and struck out six in his first scoreless outing of the year. Lewis is worth starting in all formats, as he appears to have gained solid footing in the Rangers rotation.

Astros | Carlos Correa posting gaudy numbers

Wed, 23 Mar 2016 12:28:08 -0700

Houston Astros SS Carlos Correa hit his third home run of the spring Tuesday, March 22, and he's hitting .414 with a .500 on-base percentage and .793 slugging percentage in 11 games over 29 at-bats this spring. Correa's goal this year is to hit 30 home runs.

Fantasy Tip: Twenty two home runs in just 387 at-bats in his rookie season shows just the kind of potential this kid has at an extremely thin position. However, Correa hits too many ground balls to bank on a repeat in the power department, but he's still worth taking in the first round of fantasy drafts for his blossoming upside.
