St. Louis Cardinals SP Tyler Lyons (knee) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday, Aug. 3, because of a right knee stress reaction. The move is retroactive to July 31.

St. Louis Cardinals SP Tyler Lyons could be used as a left-handed reliever next season, according to general manager John Mozeliak. RP Randy Choate is set to become a free agent and the team is interested in having a southpaw in the bullpen who isn't necessarily a situational lefty.
Fantasy Tip: Lyons went 3-1 with a 3.75 ERA in 17 games (eight starts) for St. Louis this season and averaged a strikeout an inning. A permanent move to the bullpen would dramatically decrease his fantasy value.

St. Louis Cardinals SP Michael Wacha (undisclosed) was scracthed from his start Wednesday, Sept. 2. SP Tyler Lyons will start against the Washington Nationals Wednesday.
Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid Wacha ($8,100, 16.2% of cap) in daily contests Wednesday, and you'll also want to check back for further details on why he was scratched. Lyons owns a 5.02 ERA over his six starts this season, and he shouldn't be viewed as anything more than a desperation play in any fantasy format Wednesday.

St. Louis Cardinals SP Tyler Lyons is starting the first game and SP Tim Cooney is starting the second game of the doubleheader against the Chicago Cubs Tuesday, July 7.
Fantasy Tip: Neither pitcher stands as a strong option in the majority of formats, and they should likely be limited to a spot start in just NL-only or cavernous mixed leagues. Chicago has only scored 23 runs over their last 10, though, so there is upside.

St. Louis Cardinals SP Tyler Lyons could be demoted to long relief or sent back to Class AAA Memphis following SP Lance Lynn's (forearm) return Thursday, June 25.
Fantasy Tip: Lyons ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) has lights-out stuff in the minors, but it hasn't translated into the majors. He could resurface if the team loses another starter in the future, but he's an afterthought on FantasyScore.
Sun, 14 Jun 2015 08:09:13 -0700
St. Louis Cardinals SP Tyler Lyons allowed two runs and three hits Saturday, June 13, against the Kansas City Royals. Lyons was called up to replace SP Lance Lynn (forearm).
Fantasy Tip: Lyons struck out six hitters in five full innings, while allowing just one walk. With a strikeout rate of 11.50 on the season, Lyons has considerable upside on FantasyScore, as long as he can limit the opponent run total.
Fri, 12 Jun 2015 13:47:47 -0700
St. Louis Cardinals SP Tyler Lyons will be recalled to start against the Kansas City Royals Saturday, June 13.
Fantasy Tip: Lyons is taking the rotation spot of Lance Lynn (forearm), who landed on the DL Friday. Lynn is expected to be ready to return in two weeks, though, so Lyons' stay in the rotation figures to be short-term. Don't wager too much on him if you need rotation help in deep mixed and AL-only leagues. Also, stay away from Lyons on FantasyScore against KC tomorrow.
Mon, 11 May 2015 14:00:53 -0700
St. Louis Cardinals SP Tyler Lyons will remain in the starting rotation.
Fantasy Tip: Lyons ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) projects to make his next start against the Detroit Tigers Saturday, May 16, which is a horrible matchup. FantasyScore players would be wise to steer clear of Lyons outside of plus-matchups. Except for the odd steamer start, seasonal owners can ignore Lyons outside of NL-only and cavernous mixed leagues.
Mon, 04 May 2015 07:33:04 -0700
St. Louis Cardinals SP Tyler Lyons will be promoted to start against the Chicago Cubs Tuesday, May 5.
Fantasy Tip: Lyons ($3,000, 6.0% of your cap) has a decent matchup, but he's a risky SP proposition on FantasyScore.
