Brewers | Scooter Gennett not in lineup

Wed, 02 Sep 2015 11:47:07 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Scooter Gennett is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, Sept. 2. 2B Elian Herrera is starting at second base and hitting eighth against Pittsburgh Pirates SP Jeff Locke. SS Jean Segura moves up to the leadoff spot.

Fantasy Tip: Herrera ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) is a desperation sleeper pick on FantasyScore while hitting low in the lineup. Segura ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) becomes much more attractive as a value play in the leadoff spot. Segura is batting .302 (32-for-106) against left-handers this season.

Brewers | Scooter Gennett playing second base

Sat, 22 Aug 2015 11:40:26 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Scooter Gennett will bat sixth against Washington Nationals SP Joe Ross Saturday, Aug. 22. INF Elian Herrera, who played second base Friday, Aug. 21, will start at third base Saturday.

Fantasy Tip: Gennett ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is hitting .294 this month and is 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles against Ross in his career, so FantasyScore owners who need an inexpensive option at the keystone position should consider him for their lineups. Herrera ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) also merits consideration, since he is batting .293 with one home run and eight RBIs in 58 at-bats this month.

Brewers | Scooter Gennett sitting against lefty

Fri, 21 Aug 2015 13:23:52 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Scooter Gennett is not in the lineup against Washington Nationals left-handed SP Gio Gonzalez Friday, Aug. 21. 2B Elian Herrera is starting at second base and hitting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Herrera ($2,400, 4.8% of cap), a switch-hitter, is much better from the left side against right-handers this year. He doesn't deserve your attention tonight.

Brewers | Scooter Gennett out of lineup Tuesday

Tue, 18 Aug 2015 11:59:18 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Scooter Gennett is not in the lineup Tuesday, Aug. 18, against the Miami Marlins. 2B Elian Herrera is batting seventh against Marlins SP Adam Conley.

Fantasy Tip: Gennett ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is hitting .438 in the last week but it's a no-brainer to sit him with an .077 average against lefties. Anytime Gennett faces a left-handed pitcher, avoid him in FantasyScore if he is in the lineup.

Brewers | Scooter Gennett sitting vs. Miami

Mon, 17 Aug 2015 12:18:14 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Scooter Gennett is not in the starting lineup Monday, Aug. 17. 2B Elian Herrera is starting at second base and batting seventh against Miami Marlins SP Justin Nicolino Monday.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid Gennett ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) in all formats Monday. Since returning from the minors Thursday, June 11, he has a respectable .290/.323/.454 slash line and is worth owning in deep mixed leagues. Three of Herrera's ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) five home runs have come against lefties, and in just 43 plate appearances. Still, he is nothing more than a desperation source of cap relief at FantasyScore.

Brewers | Elian Herrera playing third base

Sat, 15 Aug 2015 11:32:39 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers INF Elian Herrera will bat eighth and play third base against Philadelphia Phillies SP Jerome Williams Saturday, Aug. 15. INF Hernan Perez is not in the starting lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Although Herrera ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) has five home runs and 19 RBIs in 135 at-bats this season, he is only hitting .230 and doesn't merit much consideration in FantasyScore.

Brewers | Scooter Gennett out again vs. lefty

Fri, 14 Aug 2015 14:33:59 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Scooter Gennett is not in the lineup against Philadelphia Phillies left-handed SP Adam Morgan Friday, Aug. 14. 2B Elian Herrera is starting at the keystone and hitting sixth.

Fantasy Tip: Herrera ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) doesn't move the needle at all in any fantasy format, but a matchup against Morgan and the Phils could make him a candidate for daily lineups as a deep sleeper and salary cap reliever.

Brewers | Scooter Gennett sitting

Thu, 13 Aug 2015 10:34:46 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Scooter Gennett is not in the starting lineup Thursday, Aug. 13. 2B Elian Herrera is starting at the keystone and hitting sixth against Chicago Cubs SP Jon Lester.

Fantasy Tip: Herrera ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) does have five home runs and 19 RBI in just 128 at-bats as a utility player this year, but he's hitting only .227 on the year and is a weak sleeper pick on FantasyScore.

Brewers | Elian Herrera playing second base

Sun, 02 Aug 2015 10:08:20 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers INF Elian Herrera will bat sixth and play second base against Chicago Cubs SP Clayton Richard Sunday, Aug. 2. 2B Scooter Gennett is getting the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Herrera ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) is not a great option in FantasyScore this afternoon. He is batting just .214 in 103 at-bats this season and is 1-for-6 against Richard in his career.

Brewers | Milwaukee re-calls two

Thu, 30 Jul 2015 17:52:24 -0700

The Milwaukee Brewers will re-call OF Logan Schafer and 2B Elian Herrera from Class AAA Colorado Springs Friday, July 31, to fill the roster spots of OF Carlos Gomez and SP Mike Fiers who were traded to the Houston Astros.

Fantasy Tip: Schafer hit for a .182 batting average with zero home runs in 40 plate appearances in the major leagues this season, while Herrera hit .212 with four home runs. Neither will deserve much FantasyScore consideration.
