Seattle Seahawks CB Richard Sherman was in the center of a scuffle during practice at minicamp Wednesday, June 18, and it started after WR Bryan Walters caught a deep sideline pass and appeared to injure his shoulder landing on the turf. Sherman and WR Phil Bates got into it on the next play, and punches were thrown and helmets went flying.

Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said the team is moving WR Phil Bates to fullback. "He's a big kid," Carroll said. "He was 233 pounds when we started this experiment moving him to fullback, and he'll be 240 in another week. And he's just a really good, all-around football player. We love that he's really fast. And he's a terrific catcher. So if it could work out, then we might be able to develop a player."

Seattle Seahawks WRs Doug Baldwin, Percy Harvin, Sidney Rice and Golden Tate are expected to be the top four wide receivers. Unless an injury or two occurs, that leaves WRs Phil Bates, Arceto Clark, Chris Harper, Greg Herd Jermaine Kearse, Brett Swain, Justin Veltung, Bryan Walters and Stephen Williams to battle it out for the fifth, and perhaps sixth, receiver job(s). The team kept five receivers last season, but could elect to keep six. Walters reportedly had a strong offseason working in the slot.
