Fri, 01 Nov 2013 13:00:14 -0700
St. Louis Rams RB Daryl Richardson (foot) did not practice Friday, Nov. 1, and is questionable for Week 9.
Fantasy Tip: All indications are that Zac Stacy (ankle) will be able to play against the Tennessee Titans, making Richardson a very weak flex option only in deeper leagues.
Fri, 01 Nov 2013 12:07:56 -0700
St. Louis Rams RB Zac Stacy (ankle) was limited during practice Friday, Nov. 1, and is listed as questionable for Week 9.
Fantasy Tip: Owners will have to wait until the inactive list to see if he will be on the field for the game. Stacy should be considered a low-end starting running back or flex option if he is able to play. With Daryl Richardson and Benny Cunningham also being questionable, Isaiah Pead could have a bigger role in the offense but should not be in starting lineups this week.
Thu, 31 Oct 2013 17:20:48 -0700
St. Louis Rams QB Brady Quinn (hip), OG Harvey Dahl (knee), DE Robert Quinn (illness), CB Brandon McGee (illness) and FS Darian Stewart (foot) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 31. St. Louis Rams OT Jake Long (knee), OG Harvey Dahl (knee), RB Zac Stacy (foot), RB Daryl Richardson (foot), C Scott Wells (thigh) and WR Austin Pettis (thigh) all did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 30. QB Kellen Clemens (shoulder) and S Darian Stewart (foot) both were limited. RB Benny Cunningham (ankle) fully participated in practice.
Tue, 29 Oct 2013 09:23:21 -0700
Updating a previous report, St. Louis Rams RB Zac Stacy (ankle) sprained his ankle in the team's Week 8 game Monday, Oct. 28, and he was not on the field for the club's final drive of the night. Stacy went back on the field for the final play of the game and was split out wide instead of being used in the backfield.
Fantasy Tip: It's unclear how severe Stacy's ankle injury is at this time, so check back for updates. If he's forced to miss Week 9 against the Tennessee Titans, Daryl Richardson would likely see the majority of touches.
Mon, 28 Oct 2013 18:43:29 -0700
St. Louis Rams RB Zac Stacy (undisclosed) left the Week 8 game against the Seattle Seahawks in the second quarter due to an undisclosed injury. RB Daryl Richardson replaced him in the backfield.
Mon, 28 Oct 2013 16:44:23 -0700
Despite the fact St. Louis Rams RB Benny Cunningham (ankle) is inactive for the Week 8 game against the Seattle Seahawks Monday, Oct. 28, RB Isaiah Pead is still a healthy scratch. RB Zac Stacy will start, with RB Daryl Richardson as the backup. RB Chase Reynolds will serve as the third tailback.
Fri, 11 Oct 2013 16:21:18 -0700
St. Louis Rams RB Zac Stacy (ribs) looked good in practice Friday, Oct. 11, and is expected to be able to play in Week 6 against the Houston Texans.
Fantasy Tip: Stacy is the "lead" back for the Rams for the second straight week, but Jeff Fisher will likely keep Daryl Richardson and maybe Isaiah Pead involved somehow. St. Louis' offense hasn't been consistent enough to get excited about Stacy. He's a flex play in deeper leagues.
Sun, 06 Oct 2013 19:24:23 -0700
St. Louis Rams RB Zac Stacy made the start in Week 5 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and he carried 14 times for 78 yards. He was also targeted once, but did not have any receptions. Stacy split carried with RB Daryl Richardson, who ran 13 times for just 48 yards, and he too was targeted once with no receptions.
Fantasy Tip: It appears to be a timeshare in St. Louis between Stacy and Richardson, and it appears Stacy has a little more potential. Both should only be considered as RB3s or flex plays going forward.
Thu, 03 Oct 2013 09:33:06 -0700
St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher said the team will probably go with a committee approach at running back in Week 5 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and RB Zac Stacy could receive his chance after RBs Daryl Richardson, Isaiah Pead and Benny Cunningham haven't been very productive. "I think Zac's done a really good job since he's been here," QB Sam Bradford said. "He's a very talented runner. He's a powerful guy. He's got great vision. He makes cuts in the hole that are quick and decisive, so I'm excited to see him out there." Stacy has only one carry for four yards on the season against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1. He was inactive in Weeks 2 and 3. The rest of the team's running backs haven't been good in pass protection through four weeks, and although he hasn't proven himself in the NFL yet, Stacy had a reputation as a good pass blocker coming out of college.
Fantasy Tip: Many expect Cunningham to be the next man up in the Rams backfield, but it could easily be Stacy, as well. He's the cheaper option off the waiver wire this week. It wouldn't hurt to stash him and see how this plays out this weekend.
Wed, 02 Oct 2013 16:04:51 -0700
St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher wouldn't say who would be the starting running back this weekend against the Jacksonville Jaguars after RB Daryl Richardson hinted that he wouldn't be starting in Week 5. The Rams are currently last in the league in rushing, averaging just over 47 yards per game. Richardson is averaging a measly 2.7 yards per carry. "We have just had one day of practice and all the backs got to participate in practice, so we've got different things for different style of runners," Fisher said.
Fantasy Tip: Unfortunately for fantasy purposes, we may not know much about the running back rotation against the Jacksonville Jaguars until the game is actually played. This makes Richardson, Isaiah Pead, Zac Stacy and Benny Cunningham all very tough to start. It may be best to stay away from the situation until we get a better feel for it.
Wed, 02 Oct 2013 13:17:28 -0700
Updating an earlier report, St. Louis Rams RB Daryl Richardson is now saying that there will be competition for the lead back role in Week 5 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Fantasy Tip: This puts more uncertainty around the running back position in St. Louis. Will it be Richardson, Benny Cunningham or Zac Stacywho receives the majority of the carries in Week 5? It's really anyone's guess right now, but we wouldn't be surprised to see Cunningham take over the role, at least this week. Scoop him up if you own Richardson or are desperate for a running back with upside.
Wed, 02 Oct 2013 08:44:03 -0700
St. Louis Rams RB Daryl Richardson (foot) said on Twitter that he isn't going to start in Week 5.
Fantasy Tip: The Rams used a combination of Benny Cunningham and Zac Stacy last week, albeit very ineffectively. Isaiah Pead was a surprise inactive, and we're not sure if he'll be active this week. This situation is a mess, but they do have a very good matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars this week. Stay tuned for more details later in the week.

Tue, 24 Sep 2013 14:10:04 -0700
St. Louis Rams RB Daryl Richardson (foot) practiced on a limited basis Monday, Sept. 23, and he expects to play in Week 4 versus the San Francisco 49ers Thursday, Sept. 26. He leads the team with 30 carries and 98 yards in three weeks despite playing just two snaps in Week 3 before aggravating his injury.
Fantasy Tip: San Fran has been surprisingly vulnerable against the run this year, so Richardson, assuming he plays a full game, is a sneaky good play this week. To keep him fresh, Isaiah Pead may see more work than usual, however.
Mon, 23 Sep 2013 18:52:03 -0700
St. Louis Rams RB Daryl Richardson (foot) was listed as a limited participant in practice Monday, Sept. 23.
Fantasy Tip: If Richardson cannot play in the Week 4 game against the San Francisco 49ers, RBs Benny Cunningham, Isaiah Pead and perhaps Zac Stacy would each split the carries.
Sun, 22 Sep 2013 21:53:25 -0700
St. Louis Rams RBs Isaiah Pead and Benny Cunningham split the carries in the Week 3 game against the Dallas Cowboys with RB Daryl Richardson (foot) leaving the game after just one play. However, neither Pead nor Cunningham did much. Pead carried six times for 20 yards, while adding seven receptions and 43 yards. Cunningham had four carries for 16 yards, while adding one catch for six yards.
Fantasy Tip: It's uncertain if Richardson will be ready to go in Week 4. If not, Pead, Cunningham and perhaps rookie Zac Stacy could be in line for more work.
Sun, 22 Sep 2013 21:52:43 -0700
St. Louis Rams RB Daryl Richardson (foot) was able to take part in just one play in Week 3 against the Dallas Cowboys. His injured foot was stepped on, and he was forced from the game and unable to return.
Fri, 20 Sep 2013 13:55:29 -0700
St. Louis Rams RB Daryl Richardson (foot) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 20, and is listed as probable for Week 3.
Fantasy Tip: It appears that Richardson will be able to play Week 3 and probably will get most of the carries during the game. He should be seen as a low-end No. 2 running back or a flex option.
Thu, 19 Sep 2013 17:35:48 -0700
St. Louis Rams RB Daryl Richardson (foot) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 19.
Wed, 18 Sep 2013 13:57:28 -0700

Fri, 13 Sep 2013 12:59:07 -0700
St. Louis Rams RB Daryl Richardson (foot) practiced in full Friday, Sept. 13, and is probable for Week 2.
Thu, 12 Sep 2013 13:16:59 -0700
St. Louis Rams RB Daryl Richardson (foot) got a fair amount of practice work in Thursday, Sept. 12.
Wed, 11 Sep 2013 14:24:06 -0700
St. Louis Rams RB Daryl Richardson (foot) tweaked his left foot midway through the team's Week 1 game, but he returned and finished the game. Head coach Jeff Fisher thinks Richardson will return to the mix shortly after missing practice Wednesday, Sept. 11.
Fantasy Tip: Unless Richardson has a setback, expect him to start in Week 2 against the Atlanta Falcons.
Wed, 11 Sep 2013 14:23:10 -0700
St. Louis Rams RB Daryl Richardson (foot) did not practice Wednesday, Sept. 11.
Tue, 10 Sep 2013 20:35:10 -0700
St. Louis Rams RBs Benny Cunningham and Chase Reynolds are in a "tie" for the fourth spot on the depth chart behind RBs Daryl Richardson, Isaiah Pead and Zac Stacy. Cunningham was third while Pead was serving a one-game suspension.
Tue, 10 Sep 2013 20:34:08 -0700
Updating a previous report, St. Louis Rams RB Isaiah Pead is back form his one-game suspension, and he is listed as the team's primary backup to starting RB Daryl Richardson heading into the Week 2 game.
Sun, 08 Sep 2013 19:57:52 -0700
St. Louis Rams RB Daryl Richardson carried 20 times for 63 yards in Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals, and he added 33 yards on five catches.
Fantasy Tip: While Richardson didn't find the end zone, his near 100 total yards from scrimmage was pretty solid, and his four grabs helped those in points-per-reception (PPR) formats. Treat him as a low-end RB2 or flex fantasy option heading into Week 2.
Sun, 08 Sep 2013 14:40:23 -0700
St. Louis Rams RB Daryl Richardson (toe) had a toe on his foot wrapped in Week 1 and returned to the game Sunday, Sept. 8.
Wed, 04 Sep 2013 09:11:30 -0700
St. Louis Rams RB Daryl Richardson is the clear-cut starter for the Week 1 game against the Arizona Cardinals, but it is unclear whether RBs Zac Stacy or Benny Cunningham will serve as his primary backup. RB Isaiah Pead will be out serving his suspension.
Tue, 20 Aug 2013 15:51:21 -0700
St. Louis Rams RBs Benny Cunningham and Zac Stacy have been impressive during the preseason, and head coach Jeff Fisher refused to indicate who would be the immediate backup behind RB Daryl Richardson. Both Cunningham and Stacy are more physical than RB Isaiah Pead, and Cunningham is effective as a punt protector and potential kick returner. Cunningham and Stacy have also shown they can catch the ball out of the backfield. Pead has already fumbled once in the preseason and will miss Week 1 for a drug suspension. Not helping his cause is the fact that he didn't gain much yardage in two games and also was indecisive as a kick returner. However, he's improved in pass protection, and the Rams are unlikely to move on from him after one season.
Fantasy Tip: Pead isn't very physical and there's a question whether he'll be able to hold up in the NFL. He's not off to a great start this year, and he shouldn't be a priority to draft as a handcuff to Richardson. That designation may ultimately fall to the rookie Stacy.
Mon, 19 Aug 2013 16:43:27 -0700
St. Louis Rams RB Daryl Richardson was named the starting running back by head coach Jeff Fisher.
Fantasy Tip: With Richardson officially winning the starting job, he is an intriguing RB2 option, that should provide good value in fantasy drafts.
Sat, 17 Aug 2013 09:26:48 -0700
St. Louis Rams RB Daryl Richardson is considered the heavy favorite for the starting running back job but has not clinched the job at this time.
Fri, 16 Aug 2013 11:40:28 -0700
St. Louis Rams RB Daryl Richardson entered training camp as the favorite for the starting job, and he has done nothing in the preseason to hurt his status. "I think Daryl played really, really well last week," offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer said Friday, Aug. 16.
Fantasy Tip: The OC confirmed Richardson is ahead in the race for the No. 1 job, but also mentioned there is time for another to make a push and knock him from the perch. Still, Richardson should be targeted in the neighborhood of Rounds 7 through 8 in leagues of 12 or more teams, while Isaiah Pead and Zac Stacy are more middle to late draft picks at this time.
Fri, 09 Aug 2013 14:03:18 -0700
St. Louis Rams RB Daryl Richardson said he expects to be more involved in the passing game this season. "I'm going to have more receptions this year," Richardson said. "They're going to give me more opportunities to catch the ball with screens and stuff." Richardson said he is more comfortable with the offense.
Tue, 06 Aug 2013 21:36:11 -0700
St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher said Tuesday, Aug. 6, that he thinks RB Daryl Richardson "comes back as our starter." Richardson is battling RB Isaiah Pead for the starting tailback job, and RB Zac Stacy is also in the mix for the assignment.
Fantasy Tip: Richardson's average draft position (ADP) has been right around pick No. 100, and as such he might be a tremendous value for fantasy owners. If he starts to gain traction as the starter, look for his draft position to move up to the sixth or seventh round in the near future. Pead has been going around the 12th round, with Stacy going around the 14th or 15th round.
Fri, 26 Jul 2013 13:18:26 -0700
St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher said the team may have a revolving door at running back this season, headed by RB Daryl Richardson. "I've usually had a guy, but that's what the competition is about, and that's what camp's for and preseason games are for," Fisher said. "It's not going to be out of the question that we don't play two or three of them quite a bit. We may not end up with a 'bell cow' like we've had last year in (Jackson) and previous years, and just let them all play." RBs Isaiah Pead and Zac Stacy will compete for touches with Richardson.
Fantasy Tip: It's early in training camp, so Fisher's tune could change regarding the running back situation if one of those three stands out. For now, Richardson should still be considered the favorite for the majority of work out of the St. Louis backfield until we hear otherwise. Draft him as a decent RB3 or 4 for now.
Tue, 16 Jul 2013 20:12:40 -0700
St. Louis Rams RB Daryl Richardson is listed as a projected starter on the team's initial depth chart heading into training camp and the preseason, followed by RBs Isaiah Pead and Zac Stacy, who are listed as 'key contributors'.
Fantasy Tip: This battle is certainly not set in stone, but Richardson did show glimpses of brilliance last season behind RB Steven Jackson, who has since moved on to the Atlanta Falcons.
Thu, 04 Jul 2013 21:07:53 -0700
St. Louis Rams RB Daryl Richardson is considered the favorite for the starting running back job because he has more experience than RBs Isaiah Pead, Zac Stacy and Terrance Ganaway.
Wed, 12 Jun 2013 15:38:33 -0700
St. Louis Rams offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer said the team is expected to use a committee approach in the backfield this year between Daryl Richardson, Isaiah Pead and Zac Stacy. The overall youth in the backfield is a concern in terms of pass protection. Stacy caught the ball well during a practice session Tuesday, June 11.
Fantasy Tip: If Stacy can round out the blocking aspect of his game, he's most ready to step in as the lead back. There's an outside chance he could become this year's Alfred Morris, at least relatively, among the fantasy rookies. Richardson and Pead are still worth middle-round speculation, as well, but this could be a messy arrangement in the early going.
Sat, 25 May 2013 08:53:03 -0700
St. Louis Rams RBs Isaiah Pead, Daryl Richardson, Terrance Ganaway and Zac Stacy will all be competing for playing time during offseason workouts and training camp.
Fri, 22 Mar 2013 19:24:50 -0700
The St. Louis Rams are likely to add more running backs to the roster before the start of training camp, as the team has only RBs Terrance Ganaway and Chase Reynolds on the roster after RBs Isaiah Pead and Daryl Richardson. "We'll fill the position," head coach Jeff Fisher said. "When and how I don't know."
Fri, 19 Oct 2012 18:48:46 -0700
St. Louis Rams RB Steven Jackson has seven consecutive 1,000-yard rushing seasons, and it might be in jeopardy this season thanks to the emergence of RB Daryl Richardson. Through six games, Jackson is on pace for just 861 rushing yards, while Richardson is on pace for 656.
