Cowboys | Alfred Morris breaks loose for big run

Sun, 01 Oct 2017 17:22:17 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Alfred Morris rushed twice in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Rams, once for six yards and another time for a 70-yard scamper.

Fantasy Tip: The big run was nice, but no one is using Morris for fantasy purposes, nor should they look to do so in the short term. Despite the big yardage total, Morris is best left to the waiver wire unless Ezekiel Elliott is forced to miss time.

Cowboys | Dallas could use committee to replace Zeke?

Tue, 15 Aug 2017 10:04:59 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Alfred Morris may serve in a committee along with Darren McFadden during Ezekiel Elliott's six-game suspension, according to ESPN.com's Todd Archer.

Fantasy Tip: This seems unlikely given how Morris was supposedly fighting for a job less than two weeks ago, but he has shown well through two preseason games. At the very least, it appears as if he is well on his way to locking down a roster spot. Elliott owners who have already made room for McFadden may want to play it safe and try to add Morris as well, but a committee approach would likely make both players flex options at best during Dallas' grueling early schedule.

Cowboys | Rod Smith working ahead of Alfred Morris

Sun, 30 Jul 2017 12:12:20 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Rod Smith continues to work ahead of Alfred Morris as the third running back, according to ESPN's Todd Archer.

Fantasy Tip: Archer reports this was the case of minicamp as well. If it holds throughout August, Morris will almost certainly be released. He is unlikely to have any significant fantasy value in 2017 regardless of where he ends up.

Cowboys | Alfred Morris on the bubble?

Fri, 12 May 2017 20:59:20 -0700

Dallas Cowboys RB Alfred Morris' inability to play special teams likely places him on the roster bubble. "You'd love for your third back, in a perfect world, to be a contributor on special teams," Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said.

Cowboys | Dallas hopes to trade Alfred Morris

Thu, 02 Mar 2017 16:48:09 -0800

The Dallas Cowboys will try to trade RB Alfred Morris and his $1.2 million base salary this season, according to a source, as he is "not considered a good fit" in spot duty behind starting RB Ezekiel Elliott.

Fantasy Tip: Morris endured a very unspectacular first year in Dallas, logging 69 carries for only 243 yards to go with two touchdowns as the primary backup. He would have something to offer fantasy owners in deep leagues if he could land in a more beneficial situation, but at this point in time, it doesn't seem likely he can be a regular contributor like he was in Washington.
