Fantasy Tip: Harris and Beasley stepped up with WR Miles Austin (hip) departing early and not returning. Harris and Beasley might be useful fantasy options in deeper leagues as flex options if Austin is forced to miss time.

Dallas Cowboys WR Kevin Ogletree is still considered the favorite to win the No. 3 wide receiver job. Ogletree caught four passes for 60 yards in the preseason game Saturday, Aug. 18. He is still competing with WRs Cole Beasley, Dwayne Harris and Andre Holmes for the job. Beasley caught seven passes for 104 yards in the game, and Harris caught four passes for 42 yards and one touchdown.

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley is back in training camp, and he had another strong practice Tuesday, Aug. 7. He briefly left the team after informing head coach Jason Garrett that his "heart wasn't in it." However, he returned to camp Sunday, Aug. 5. "That's why we were open-minded to (him returning)," team executive vice president Stephen Jones said. "He obviously had a great minicamp and OTAs. It doesn't surprise us."

Dallas Cowboys rookie WR Cole Beasley has been compared to New England Patriots WR Wes Welker throughout offseason workouts - a comparison that frustrates Beasley. He considers himself to be a bit more versatile than Welker. "I get tired of it a little bit because I feel like I have a little bit more speed than Wes Welker does," Beasley said. "He's got a little bigger frame than me but I feel like I've got a little more versatility to my game than he does. I do have similarities with him but I feel like I can play a little bit more outside (than Welker does), as well as inside."

The Dallas Cowboys hold their annual Dallas Day workouts before the draft for players with ties to the local area. Former WR Patrick Crayton is the biggest success story from past workouts, but current RB Phillip Tanner is an example on the current roster of a player who caught the eye of the team in Dallas Day workouts. Four players were inked as a result of these workouts this year. LB Adrian Hamilton is a pass rusher who has a chance to make the team. CB Isaac Madison earned some reps with the first-team nickel package, and will be fighting for a fifth cornerback job in training camp. WR Cole Beasley might be another option in the pass game, while RB Lance Dunbar will be fighting for the No. 3 running back job. Dunbar will also get a chance to impress on kickoff returns.

SMU S Chris Banjo and WR Cole Beasley worked out at their Pro Day Wednesday, April 4. Banjo weighed in at 5-foot-9, 206 pounds. He recorded a 4.48-second 40-yard dash, a 39 1/2-inch vertical jump, a 10-foot-4 broad jump, an 11.4-second 60-yard shuttle, a 6.99-second three-cone drill and put up 23 repetitions on the 225-pound bench press. Beasley recorded a 10-foot-6 broad jump, a 38-inch vertical jump, an 11.33-second 60-yard shuttle, a 6.98-second three-cone drill, a 4.51-second 40-yard dash and put up 17 repetitions on the bench press.
