Miami Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland said Sunday, April 28, that he is comfortable with what the team has at the receiver position. The team sees upside in WRs Armon Binns and Rishard Matthews, who will compete with former practice squad members Jeff Fuller and Brian Tyms for the No. 4 and 5 receiver jobs. With the team expected to use two tight-end sets, the fourth receiver might play less this year.

Miami Dolphins WRs Davone Bess, Armon Binns, Rishard Matthews, Brian Tyms and Jeff Fuller are expected to compete for two or three roster spots. The team could also add a wide receiver during the 2013 NFL Draft to join the competition.

The Miami Dolphins have signed WR Jeff Fuller, WR Brian Tyms, OT Jeff Adams, OT Andrew McDonald, DT Chas Alecxih and CB De'Andre Presley to futures contracts. They signed two-year deals but the financial terms were not disclosed.

The Miami Dolphins could sign practice squad WR Brian Tyms to their active roster if they decide to place WR Davone Bess (back) on Injured Reserve. Tyms is traveling with the team for their Week 17 game.

Florida A&M WR Brian Tyms has a scheduled visit with the Miami Dolphins April 5, according to sources. Tyms' draft stock is picking up after having an impressive Pro Day. Tyms weighed in at 200 pounds and 6-foot-2, in addition to posting times of 4.40 seconds in the 40-yard dash and 3.93 seconds in the 20-yard shuttle. He also recorded a 38 1/2-inch vertical and 22 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press.
