The Seattle Seahawks have signed RB Derrick Coleman, WR Phil Bates, WR Bryan Walters, WR Stephen Williams, TE Cooper Helfet, DT Myles Wade, LB Kyle Knox, LB Korey Toomer, CB Ron Parker and CB Chandler Fenner to futures contracts. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.

The Seattle Seahawks signed free-agent CB Ron Parker (Panthers) to their active roster Wednesday, Dec. 5, and signed CB Deshawn Shead from the practice squad to the active roster. Free-agent RB Derrick Coleman (Vikings) was signed to the practice squad.

Minnesota Vikings RB Derrick Coleman said his difficulty hearing will not be a factor this season because he has talked with the coaches and quarterbacks about the situation. "It doesn't affect me that much anymore," Coleman said. "I sat down with the coaches and players in the quarterback room and let them know, 'Whenever we change the play, you already say it twice, just turn around one time and say it one more time. It don't hurt nobody."

UCLA RB Derrick Coleman ran the 40-yard dash in 4.48 seconds and 4.56 seconds at his Pro Day Tuesday, March 6. He also ran the short shuttle in 4.50 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.37 seconds. He measured a 36 1/2-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot-5 broad jump.
