The Toronto Blue Jays have placed INF Ryan Goins (forearm) on the 15-day disabled list due to right forearm tightness. He sustained the injury while making an emergency relief appearance during the 18th inning of the game versus the Cleveland Indians Friday, July 1, but isn't expected to miss more than the minimum number of days. In corresponding moves, the club optioned RP Bo Schultz to Class AAA Buffalo, while recalling RPs Drew Hutchison and Aaron Loup from Buffalo.
Fantasy Tip: Goins was batting just .176 with three home runs and 12 RBI through 159 at-bats and isn't worth stashing in most formats. Hutchison will be used by the parent club as a long reliever and Loup as a left-handed specialist, so neither pitcher possesses much fantasy value.

Toronto Blue Jays SP Gavin Floyd (shoulder) was placed on the 15-day disabled list with shoulder tightness Sunday, June 26. In a corresponding move, RP Bo Schultz was promoted from Class AAA Buffalo.
Fantasy Tip: Floyd has been stuck in a relief role all year, and unless he ends up as a starter at some point, he can be ignored in all fantasy leagues.

Toronto Blue Jays RP Bo Schultz picked up his first career save Thursday, July 23, against the Oakland Athletics. Schultz threw just two pitches to get two outs.
Fantasy Tip: Schultz relieved SP R.A. Dickey with one out in the ninth-inning, and got two easy outs. Roberto Osuna should continue to get the majority of save opportunities for Toronto, but Schultz is worth monitoring.

Toronto Blue Jays RP Roberto Osuna sounds like manager John Gibbons' first choice to pitch the ninth inning after the team demoted RP Brett Cecil from the role Tuesday, June 23. However, Gibbons didn't specifically name Osuna as the new closer, and RP Steve Delabar is another possibility. Osuna strengthened his chances with a two-inning, five-strikeout save Monday, June 22. Gibbons said the team isn't ready to define bullpen roles after the shakeup. RP Bo Schultz will also be moved back and be given added responsibility. Osuna has allowed eight earned runs in 34 innings this year while walking 10 and striking out 40. "He's got the stuff to do it, he's got the makeup to do it, too. He's a tough kid," praised Gibbons. "He gets strikeouts and you know he's going to throw strikes. … Shoot, he looks like a veteran out there."
Fantasy Tip: Osuna should immediately be scooped off the waiver wire if he's still available in your league. Delabar, who allowed a home run in a non-save situation Tuesday, is an option for those scrounging for saves in deeper leagues. Don't feel the need to hang onto Cecil in shallow mixed formats.

The Arizona Diamondbacks activated SS Cliff Pennington (thumb) from the 15-day disabled list Wednesday, Aug. 6, and optioned RP Bo Schultz to Triple-A Reno in a corresponding move.
Fantasy Tip: Pennington could wind up serving in a platoon at the 6 with Didi Gregorius in Arizona. At best Pennington is solely an NL-only option for those in need of a middle infielder.

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Bo Schultz was recalled from Triple-A Reno Tuesday, July 29. In a corresponding move, OF Alfredo Marte was optioned to Reno.
Fantasy Tip: Schultz has posted a 5.75 ERA as a starter with Reno. If the Diamondbacks intend to start him, stack your lineup with as many opposing bats as possible in all formats, especially in daily games.
