Nationals | Michael Taylor available

Thu, 03 Sep 2015 15:45:52 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Michael Taylor (knee) is available to play in the game against the Atlanta Braves Thursday, Sept. 3, even though he was not in the starting lineup while nursing a sore right knee. He originally hurt his knee Aug. 27 when he crashed into the outfield wall in center field.

Fantasy Tip: Taylor's ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) injury probably isn't serious, but the Nats need to be even more cautious with him now that Denard Span won't return this year. Taylor still has usefulness in deep mixed leagues for his combination of power and speed down the stretch.

Nationals | Clint Robinson starting in left field

Thu, 03 Sep 2015 13:17:40 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Clint Robinson is starting in left field and batting fifth against Atlanta Braves SP Matt Wisler Thursday, Sept. 3. OF Michael Taylor (knee) is not in the starting lineup Thursday.

Fantasy Tip: Batting in the heart of the lineup, Robinson ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) has some FantasyScore appeal as an upside source of cap relief Thursday. He hasn't been receiving a lot of playing time of late with just eight starts since Saturday, Aug. 1, though, so Robinson isn't without risk. Taylor ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) is dealing with a sore knee and is now set to miss his second consecutive game. Taylor remains a low-end outfield option in deep mixed leagues, as the injury doesn't appear to be serious.

Nationals | Michael Taylor out due to sore knee

Wed, 02 Sep 2015 16:41:18 -0700

Updating a previous report, Washington Nationals OF Michael Taylor (knee) was scratched due to a sore knee Wednesday, Sept. 2.

Fantasy Tip: Taylor ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) owns a .230/.288/.405 slash line with eight runs, three home runs and nine RBI over his past 20 games. He remains a solid NL-only and cavernous mixed player in seasonal leagues due to his semi-regular at-bats, however, you should be able to do better in the majority of formats, though. He isn't a strong FantasyScore play outside of prime matchups due to his hefty price tag.

Nationals | Michael Taylor scratched

Wed, 02 Sep 2015 16:24:48 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Michael Taylor was scratched from the lineup Wednesday, Sept. 2. 2B Danny Espinosa enters the lineup and will play left field. OF Bryce Harper is moving to center field.

Fantasy Tip: Espinosa ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) is more dangerous when he hits left-handed against righties, with 10 of his 12 home runs coming from the left side. Consider Espinosa more of a weak FantasyScore pick tonight with the last-minute switch.

Nationals | Michael Taylor sidelined

Sat, 29 Aug 2015 13:50:14 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Michael Taylor (knee) is not in the starting lineup against Miami Marlins SP Tom Koehler Saturday, Aug. 29. OF Bryce Harper will start in center field, while 1B Clint Robinson will start in left field and is batting fifth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Taylor ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) could return soon, so owners should keep an eye on his situation. Robinson ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) has only two hits in his last 11 games and is not a great option for owners on FantasyScore.

Nationals | Denard Span out vs. Friars

Thu, 27 Aug 2015 13:41:24 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Denard Span (back) is not in the starting lineup because he woke up sore Thursday, Aug. 27. OF Michael Taylor is starting in center field and batting eighth against San Diego Padres SP Andrew Cashner Thursday.

Fantasy Tip: Span ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) is expected to receive some games off down the stretch, and Taylor ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) projects to spell him in center field. While Span's seasonal value has upside, the nagging injury is a concern, and he isn't a must-own player in the majority of 12-team leagues. Taylor should be reserved for deep mixed formats, and you might want to look for better value than him at FantasyScore Thursday.

Nationals | Michael Taylor homers again

Sat, 22 Aug 2015 18:59:14 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Michael Taylor went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI, two runs scored and a walk in a 6-1 win over the Milwaukee Brewers Saturday, Aug. 22, and he has homered in three straight games.

Fantasy Tip: Taylor ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) is batting just .244, but his 13 homers and 15 steals give a glimpse of his potential. In the meantime, he is a high-risk, high-reward option at FantasyScore.
