Nationals | Michael Taylor draws into lineup

Mon, 01 Jun 2015 12:37:44 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Michael Taylor is batting eighth and starting in center field against the Toronto Blue Jays Monday, June 1.

Fantasy Tip: Taylor ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) is replacing Denard Span (knee) in center field, and Taylor will have a fleeting value boost in cavernous mixed and NL-only leagues for the duration of Span's absence. However, unless he jumps up the lineup, his upside in FantasyScore contests is limited. Especially with Taylor currently mired in a 3-for-28 funk with a .433 OPS.

Nationals | Denard Span sitting vs. Blue Jays

Mon, 01 Jun 2015 12:27:56 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Denard Span (knee) is not in the starting lineup against the Toronto Blue Jays Monday, June 1. OF Michael Taylor is starting in center field and batting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid Span ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) in all fantasy formats Monday, and check back for further details on the severity of his injury. Taylor ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) grabs a fleeting value boost in cavernous mixed and NL-only leagues, but batting eighth Monday limits his FantasyScore upside.

Nationals | Michael Taylor will play Friday

Fri, 29 May 2015 12:50:00 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Michael Taylor will be the starting left fielder for the team Friday, May 29.

Fantasy Tip: Taylor ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) has been part of a platoon in the outfield, so he is not seeing regular playing time. He has only two hits in his last 10 games and probably is not a great option for owners on FantasyScore.

Nationals | Michael Taylor out of lineup Tuesday

Tue, 26 May 2015 12:32:07 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Michael Taylor is not starting Tuesday, May 26, against the Chicago Cubs. OF Tyler Moore is in left and batting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Taylor ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) has a normal off night scheduled, or so it appears, so simply take him out of play for tonight. Moore ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) has a .200 average in limited play last week, but that includes a home run so he may be worth the low cost.

Nationals | Michael Taylor out vs. Philly

Fri, 22 May 2015 12:06:34 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Michael Taylor is not in the starting lineup against the Philadelphia Phillies Friday, May 22. 1B Clint Robinson is starting in left field and batting seventh Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has 57 career plate appearances, so FantasyScore players should view him as nothing more than a desperation source of cap relief for contests Friday. Still, first base is a deep fantasy position and typically not one to be skimpy with. Make sure to avoid Taylor in all fantasy formats Friday.

Nationals | Michael Taylor not in lineup Wednesday

Wed, 20 May 2015 12:32:44 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Michael Taylor is out of the starting lineup Wednesday, May 20, against the New York Yankees. 1B Tyler Moore is starting in left field and batting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: It appears to be a normal night off for Taylor ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) so remove him from yours for the evening. Moore ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) has a .273-1-5 line in his last seven days, so he may make an interesting choice at this low cost. Both outfielders could see time periodically in the next several days with Jayson Werth out.

Nationals | Michael Taylor enters starting lineup

Tue, 19 May 2015 13:16:01 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Michael Taylor is starting in left field and hitting eighth in the batting order against New York Yankees SP Nathan Eovaldi Tuesday, May 19.

Fantasy Tip: With Jayson Werth (wrist) on the DL, Taylor ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) should see the majority of time in left field, making him more useful at FantasyScore. Tonight, though, he's merely a low-end outfield sleeper play for his speed. Hitting at the bottom of the order takes some of the intrigue away.

Nationals | Michael Taylor starting Sunday

Sun, 17 May 2015 11:44:18 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Michael Taylor will bat leadoff and play center field against the San Diego Padres Sunday, May 17.

Fantasy Tip: Taylor ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) is starting in place of Denard Span ($3,800, 7.6% of cap), who is getting the day off. He is batting .257 with two home runs and nine RBIs but you can probably find better options in FantasyScore today for a similar price.

Nationals | Jayson Werth out Saturday

Sat, 16 May 2015 14:52:56 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Jayson Werth (wrist) is out of the lineup Saturday, May 16, in favor of OF Michael Taylor.

Fantasy Tip: Taylor ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) doesn't do enough in a category to tip the FantasyScore scales.

Nationals | Michael Taylor grand as fill-in

Wed, 13 May 2015 18:49:41 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Michael Taylor came on in the seventh inning Wednesday, May 13, against the Arizona Diamondbacks for the ejected OF Bryce Harper. In his first at-bat, he hit with the bases loaded for the first time in his career and launched a grand slam.

Fantasy Tip: Despite the ninth-inning heroics, Taylor is likely headed back to the bench unless manager Matt Williams rewards him with a start. FantasyScore owners shouldn't pay him any mind unless he starts.
