San Francisco 49ers LB Darius Fleming, the team's fifth-round draft choice, tore his anterior cruciate ligament in his knee last Friday, May 11, according to his agent, Andy Simms. Fleming may not be able to play in the 2012 season. He did not tear any other ligaments other than his ACL.

Notre Dame CB Robert Blanton, OT Taylor Dever, LB Darius Fleming, RB Jonas Gray and S Harrison Smith all took part in Notre Dame's Pro Day workout Tuesday, April 3. Blanton measured 6-foot 1/2, 201 pounds and ran a 4.95- and 4.62-second 40-yard dash. Dever measured 6-foot-5 1/4, 304 pounds and recorded a 5.36- and 5.38-second 40-yard dash, had a 27 1/2-inch vertical, an 8-foot-9 broad jump, a 4.78-second short shuttle and put up 15 strength lifts. Fleming measured 6-foot-1 1/2, 247 pounds and ran a 4.58- and 4.57-second 40-yard dash. Gray measured 5-foot-9 1/2, 225 pounds. Smith measured 6-foot-1 7/8, 214 pounds.

Notre Dame LB Darius Fleming said he is hoping to weigh in at around 245 pounds at the NFL Scouting Combine. "I'm going to try to go to the combine around 245 or around that range, might be a little lower but that's the goal right now," Fleming said. "I get to the combine and I'm able to show my burst and my change of direction will really change those opinions of some other teams."
