Updating a previous report, the Pittsburgh Steelers released LB Brandon Lindsey (shoulder) because he suffered a shoulder injury and will need surgery on the shoulder.

The Pittsburgh Steelers agreed to terms with undrafted college rookie free-agents P Drew Butler, CB Terry Carter, WR Connor Dixon, DB Robert Golden, DL Ikponmwosa Igbinosun, LB Brandon Lindsey, WR Marquis Maze, PK Grant Ressel, LB Adrian Robinson, OL Desmond Stapleton and DL Jake Stoller.

Pittsburgh LB Brandon Lindsey timed out at 4.90 seconds in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine Tuesday, Feb. 28, and he was slow even for the defensive line group he worked with. Lindsey reportedly was somewhat effective in drills, but he might be a player without an NFL position.

Pittsburgh DL Brandon Lindsey posted the best broad jump out of defensive lineman at the 2012 NFL Scouting Combine with a jump of 9-foot-4. Those that followed included Illinois DL Whitney Mercilus (9-foot-10), Boise State DL Shea McClellin (9-foot-10), Troy DL Jonathan Massaquoi (10 feet), Syracuse DL Chandler Jones (10 feet), Clemson DL Andre Branch (10 feet), Miami DL Olivier Vernon (10-foot-2), West Virginia DL Bruce Irvin (10-foot-3), Rice DL Scott Solomon (10-foot-4) and Southern California DL Nick Perry (10-foot-4).
