Seattle Seahawks impending free-agent LB Bruce Irvin is unlikely to re-sign with the Seahawks, as his price is expected to soar on the open market. However, Irvin still has a desire to stay in Seattle and said he would consider re-signing if the money was close to the right price. He said after last season that he would come back if Seattle's total contract offer was within a few million dollars of what he could get somewhere else. Seattle is unlikely to offer more than $7.5 million a year for Irvin.

"I would love to be in Seattle. That was the team that gave me a chance when nobody else did. A lot of people told me I wasn't a first-round pick, but Pete (Carroll) and (general manager) John Schneider took a chance on me, so like I said I would love to be there, but I'm just going to go out here, I've been working my butt off, I'm going to go out here and have the biggest year of my career next year."

Updating previous reports, Seattle Seahawks LB Bruce Irvin had supposedly said he'd be coming to Atlanta next season, but head coach Pete Carroll refuted those comments. "He didn't say that… He said everybody likes to come back home, and it's a dream to come back home," Carroll said. "It wasn't in reference to leaving us and coming back [to the Falcons]." Irvin did not have his fifth-year option picked up this offseason, causing dispute between Irving and the organization.
