Los Angeles Rams CB Trumaine Johnson is expected to become an unrestricted free agent next year, according to Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio. Johnson has been given the franchise tag two years in a row. Being tagged for a third year in a row would cost the Rams $24.1 million. If/when Johnson does hit the free-agent market, he has a good chance to become the highest-paid cornerback in the league.

Los Angeles Rams CB Trumaine Johnson will remain a candidate for a contract extension offer, but ESPN's Alden Gonzalez believes general manager Les Snead sounds "noncommittal" in regards to getting a deal done. Snead had previously expressed a desire to wait until after the offseason program concluded to make sure Johnson was a fit for new defensive coordinator Wade Phillips' system that asks its cornerbacks to play a lot of man coverage.
