The Green Bay Packers have signed QB B.J. Coleman, TE Brandon Bostick, C Garth Gerhart, OG Joe X. Gibbs, OT Andrew Datko, LB Micah Johnson, CB James Nixon and SS Chaz Powell to futures contracts. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.

Green Bay Packers OT T.J. Lang (ankle) doesn't have a good chance to play in Week 14, so the Packers may be ready to promote OT Andrew Datko from the practice squad. The Packers will have only six offensive linemen if Lang is ruled out. OG Joe X. Gibbs could also be promoted from the practice squad, but both Datko and Gibbs play the tackle positions. Datko would back up OTs Marshall Newhouse and Don Barclay if Lang doesn't play.

Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy confirmed Tuesday, Aug. 28, that TE Tom Crabtree (concussion), OT Andrew Datko (concussion), LB Robert Francois (hamstring) and CB Davon House (shoulder) will be sidelined for the preseason finale Thursday, Aug. 30.

Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said Sunday, Aug. 5, that OT Marshall Newhouse (concussion) suffered a concussion in the team's scrimmage Friday, Aug. 3. With Newhouse out, OT Herb Taylor is preparing himself to fill a key spot, with rookie OL Andrew Datko next in line at left tackle.

Green Bay Packers OT Andrew Datko (shoulder) has not seen game action since Sept. 24, 2011, when he was at Florida State, due to a troublesome shoulder. He appears to be healed, and he will wear a brace for the shoulder. Datko, who was a left tackle in college, said he alternated between the right and left sides during organized team activities (OTAs) and minicamp. With the depth chart behind the starters wide open, the seventh-round pick has a chance to stick around.
