Vikings | Minnesota confident in Blair Walsh

Tue, 29 Mar 2016 21:23:25 -0700

The Minnesota Vikings are confident in PK Blair Walsh despite a devastating missed chip-shot 27-yard field goal in the playoffs against the Seattle Seahawks. "I pretty much move on, but I'm going to try to make sure that he has success as much as possible," head coach Mike Zimmer said. "You're always as good as your last kick, right? So we want to make sure that a lot of his kicks are good kicks now."

Fantasy Tip: Walsh isn't a recommended No. 1 fantasy option heading into the 2016 season, but he will be playing for a strong offense and if he overcomes last season's miss he could re-emerge as a decent option at some point in the upcoming season.

Vikings | Blair Walsh on shaky ground

Wed, 23 Sep 2015 10:50:40 -0700

The Vikings will continue to watch him. He's missed at least one field goal or extra point in six of the team's seven preseason and regular season games.

Fantasy Tip: With Walsh struggling in all aspects of his game right now, you shouldn't touch him in your fantasy leagues.

Vikings | Blair Walsh not on hot seat

Wed, 16 Sep 2015 11:49:41 -0700

Minnesota Vikings PK Blair Walsh missed another field goal in Week 1 against the San Francisco 49ers, but the Vikings are not considering bringing in another kicker. Walsh was signed to a four-year, $14 million deal in training camp but went 5-for-11 on field-goal tries in the preseason and is 11-for-23 going back to December of last year.

Fantasy Tip: Walsh's monetary committment will give him a longer leash than most kickers, but it appears as though he's lost confidence because of his struggles dating back to last season. He shouldn't be owned in traditional fantasy leagues right now.
