Saints | Coby Fleener becoming a non-factor

Tue, 17 Oct 2017 11:33:18 -0700

New Orleans Saints TE Coby Fleener has caught just three passes for 42 yards in his last three games. Furthermore, he was targeted only once in the Saints' 52-38 win over the Detroit Lions in Week 6.

Fantasy Tip: Fleener is clearly not an integral part of New Orleans' game plan on a week-to-week basis. He scored a touchdown in each of his first two games but has been invisible since then. It might be hard to drop him since he's technically the starting tight end in one of the NFL's best offenses, but you certainly can't start him.

Saints | Coby Fleener catches two passes

Sun, 01 Oct 2017 10:25:03 -0700

New Orleans Saints TE Coby Fleener caught two passes for 21 yards against the Miami Dolphins in Week 4.

Fantasy Tip: Fleener has not been a big factor in the passing game this season and has posted more than 35 yards in only one game. He could be a No. 2 tight end for owners but should not be a starting option most weeks.

Saints | Just one touch for Coby Fleener

Sun, 24 Sep 2017 13:43:29 -0700

New Orleans TE Coby Fleener managed just one reception for 21 yards on his only target in Week 3 at Carolina.

Fantasy Tip: Fleener had found the end zone with a total of eight catches (and 10 targets) through his first two games, so this was a disappointment for fantasy owners. He'll look to get back on track in Week 4 against the Dolphins in London, but treat him as more of a TE2 in most fantasy formats.

Saints | Coby Fleener gets into end zone

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 19:02:08 -0700

New Orleans Saints TE Coby Fleener gathered three receptions for 33 yards and a touchdown in Week 2 against the Patriots.

Fantasy Tip: Fleener has found the end zone in each of his first two games to re-emerge as a useful fantasy option in most leagues of 12 or more teams. He'll look to keep the streak rolling into Week 3 in Carolina.

Saints | Coby Fleener logs five catches, touchdown

Mon, 11 Sep 2017 20:36:11 -0700

New Orleans Saints TE Coby Fleener recorded five catches for 54 yards and a touchdown in the team's Week 1 game Monday, Sept. 11, versus the Minnesota Vikings. His six targets tied for second-most on the team.

Fantasy Tip: Fleener looked pretty good here, delivering New Orleans' only touchdown on the evening. While he did disappear at times last year in his first season with the Saints, it looks like Fleener will be one of Drew Brees' more consistent weapons in the passing game, especially while Willie Snead remains suspended. Fleener can serve as a fine lower-end TE1 as a result.

Saints | Coby Fleener could be more involved

Tue, 05 Sep 2017 10:00:42 -0700

New Orleans Saints TE Coby Fleener should see his role "expand a bit" while Willie Snead serves his three-game suspension, according to ESPN.com's Mike Triplett.

Fantasy Tip: Fleener disappointed owners in a big way last year as the expectation was he would thrive in the Jimmy Graham role in New Orleans, but all he really did was remain the same kind of fantasy player he was throughout his career with the Indianapolis Colts. Expect more of the same this season, which means he will be a somewhat serviceable TE2 with unpredictable peaks and valleys.

Saints | Coby Fleener out Friday

Fri, 04 Aug 2017 08:04:22 -0700

New Orleans Saints TE Coby Fleener (undisclosed) is out of practice Friday, Aug. 4, for an unknown reason.

Fantasy Tip: That's three days in a row for Fleener, which lends us to believe he may be dealing with an injury. He's a TE2 in fantasy, but Josh Hill could steal looks from him.

Saints | Coby Fleener more prepared for 2017

Sat, 27 May 2017 21:16:19 -0700

New Orleans Saints TE Coby Fleener said already understanding the terminology of the offense will be a big advantage in his second season with the Saints. "So being able to revamp and feel comfortable going out there and not having to worry about what play call is gonna come up is a huge benefit," Fleener said.

Fantasy Tip: Fleener's first year with the Saints was a bit of a disappointment, but the departure of Brandin Cooks could free up more targets for the tight end. The safe approach is to grab him as a TE2, but Fleener has TE1 upside.

Saints | New Orleans optimistic about Coby Fleener

Fri, 10 Feb 2017 13:42:46 -0800

The New Orleans Saints believe TE Coby Fleener will be a bigger part of the offense in 2017 because he will be more comfortable with the offensive scheme and will continue to build a chemistry with QB Drew Brees.

Fantasy Tip: Fleener finished this season with 60 catches, 631 yards and three touchdowns. He will have a role in the passing game but will have to share targets with the team's top three receivers. Owners in most fantasy leagues should consider Fleener as a No. 2 tight end.

Saints | Coby Fleener finishes with two catches

Sun, 25 Dec 2016 15:54:24 -0800

New Orleans Saints TE Coby Fleener caught two passes for 31 yards against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 16.

Fantasy Tip: Fleener has not made much of an impact over the last three games and has been limited to five catches and 46 yards during that span. He should be avoided in all fantasy leagues.
