Panthers | Fozzy Whittaker back to the bench |
Sun, 16 Oct 2016 18:10:02 -0700
Carolina Panthers RB Fozzy Whittaker ran once for minus-1 yard and he had one reception for four yards in Week 6 against the New Orleans Saints.
Fantasy Tip: Whittaker was back to a reserve role with Jonathan Stewart healthy again and running hard. Avoid Whittaker in all fantasy leagues unless J-Stew goes down again.

Panthers | Just six touches for Fozzy Whittaker |
Mon, 10 Oct 2016 21:48:33 -0700
Carolina Panthers RB Fozzy Whittaker ran five times for 45 yards in the Week 5 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Monday, Oct. 10, and he added one catch for nine yards.
Fantasy Tip: Whittaker saw one-third of the touches that Cameron Artis-Payne did, so Fozzy should be considered more of an RB3 heading into Week 6 in New Orleans.

Panthers | Fozzy Whittaker a factor in passing game |
Sun, 02 Oct 2016 15:00:16 -0700
Carolina Panthers RB Fozzy Whittaker caught nine passes for 86 yards against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 4. He also rushed for six yards on three carries during the game.
Fantasy Tip: Whittaker has received more playing time with Jonathan Stewart out with an injury and could be used as a receiver out of the backfield when Stewart returns. He probably will have more value in point-per-reception leagues but likely should only be used as a flex option.

Panthers | CAR to use RB committee |
Wed, 21 Sep 2016 07:32:56 -0700
Carolina Panthers RB Fozzy Whittaker, RB Cameron Artis-Payne and FB Mike Tolbert will split carries by committee with RB Jonathan Stewart (hamstring) out, according to offensive coordinator Mike Shula.
Fantasy Tip: Whittaker and Payne could see the lion's share if one of them is hot. Both are flex options in fantasy. Tolbert figures to see short-yardage carries and doesn't have much fantasy luster except in TD-only leagues.

Panthers | Fozzy Whittaker the main back |
Tue, 20 Sep 2016 13:41:45 -0700
Carolina Panthers RB Fozzy Whittaker was in on 49 offensive snaps in Week 2 in light of RB Jonathan Stewart's (hamstring) early exit. RB Cameron Artis-Payne did not receive any snaps.
Fantasy Tip: Whittaker will be the Panthers' go-to running back assuming Stewart is out for Week 3. Whittaker ran for 100 yards and caught three passes for 31 yards last week. He and the Panthers face stiff competition in the Minnesota Vikings, though. View Whittaker as a low-end RB2 to high-end RB3 with added value in PPR leagues if Stewart can't play.

Panthers | Fozzy Whittaker fills in admirably |
Sun, 18 Sep 2016 18:11:32 -0700
Carolina Panthers RB Fozzy Whittaker (concussion) left the Week 2 game against the San Francisco 49ers briefly to be evaluated for concussion. He passed tests and finished with 16 carries for 100 yards.
Fantasy Tip: Whittaker filled in well for the injured Jonathan Stewart, who was forced out in the first half. Ron Rivera expressed concern about Stewart's injury, so Whittaker might be forced to carry the mail in Week 3. If so he is a decent low-end RB2 in most fantasy formats.

Sun, 18 Sep 2016 11:26:48 -0700
Carolina Panthers RB Fozzy Whittaker (head) briefly left the team's Week 2 game and was evaluated for a concussion but was able to return to the game.
Fantasy Tip: Whittaker is seeing more playing time with Jonathan Stewart out with an ankle injury. He could be a flex option in deeper leagues next week if Stewart is not able to play.

Panthers | Three Panthers RBs questionable |
Fri, 29 Jan 2016 10:10:06 -0800
Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (ankle) and RB Mike Tolbert (knee) and RB Fozzy Whittaker (ankle) are listed as questionable for the Super Bowl. Stewart and Tolbert didn't practice Friday, Jan. 29, while Whittaker was limited.
Fantasy Tip: All three should be good to go, and Stewart will lead the way. He'll have a pivotal role against the Denver Broncos to keep their devastating pass rush honest.

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (rest) and RB Mike Tolbert (knee) did little-to-no work at practice Friday, Jan. 29, but RB Fozzy Whittaker (ankle) returned to practice.
Fantasy Tip: Stewart figures to see a prominent role in the Super Bowl, and the team is being cautious with him with the game more than a week away.

Thu, 28 Jan 2016 09:15:22 -0800
Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (rest), RB Mike Tolbert (knee) and RB Fozzy Whittaker (ankle) were out of practice again Thursday, Jan. 28.
Fantasy Tip: Stewart had a solid showing with 83 yards rushing in the NFC Championship, and they'll need him to open up other areas of their offense in the Super Bowl.

Panthers | Three Panthers RBs not practicing |
Wed, 27 Jan 2016 09:22:14 -0800
Carolina Panthers RBs Jonathan Stewart (rest), Fozzy Whittaker (ankle) and Mike Tolbert (knee) are not practicing Wednesday, Jan. 27, and RBs Cameron Artis-Payne and Brandon Wegher are seeing most of the work.
Fantasy Tip: The Panthers have plenty of time to practice, so they're just resting some of their banged up players early in the week. J-Stew has had a very productive year despite missing time at the end of the regular season with an injury. He had two touchdowns and over 100 yards in the divisional round and 83 yards last week against the Arizona Cardinals. The Denver Broncos are a tough squad to run against, but the presence of Cam Newton could open some big holes for Stewart to exploit.

Panthers | Fozzy Whittaker tweaked his ankle |
Tue, 26 Jan 2016 16:44:57 -0800
Carolina Panthers RB Fozzy Whittaker (ankle) tweaked his sprained ankle in the NFC Championship game, but he is expected to be fine for Super Bowl 50, according to head coach Ron Rivera.
Fantasy Tip: Whittaker played sparingly down the stretch of the end of the regular season because of a high ankle sprain. He had just two rushes of minus-two yards in the NFC title game and probably won't see much work against the Denver Broncos in the Super Bowl.

Panthers | Fozzy Whittaker likely to go |
Fri, 22 Jan 2016 08:59:50 -0800
Carolina Panthers RB Fozzy Whittaker (ankle) is probable for the NFC Championship game Sunday, Jan. 24, against the Arizona Cardinals.
Fantasy Tip: Whittaker ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) may not have a large enough role to be a huge factor on FantasyScore. However, with Jonathan Stewart's (ankle) durability a concern, he's a shot in the dark to fill out your roster.

Panthers | Full practice for Fozzy Whittaker |
Thu, 21 Jan 2016 12:39:11 -0800
Carolina Panthers RB Fozzy Whittaker (ankle) practiced in full for the second straight day Thursday, Jan. 21.
Fantasy Tip: Whittaker ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) has been hampered by a high ankle sprain in recent weeks and is unlikely to have a big role in the NFC Championship. Look elsewhere for a deep sleeper.

Panthers | Fozzy Whittaker should be available |
Wed, 20 Jan 2016 14:26:46 -0800
Carolina Panthers RB Fozzy Whittaker (ankle) should be able to play in the NFC Championship against the Arizona Cardinals, according to head coach Ron Rivera.
Fantasy Tip: Whittaker ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) practiced in full Wednesday, so he looks to be back on track. He hasn't played since late December, though, and there's a better chance that Cameron Artis-Payne ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) makes an impact this weekend as a deep sleeper than Whittaker.

Panthers | Fozzy Whittaker full go |
Wed, 20 Jan 2016 14:07:05 -0800
Updating a previous report, Carolina Panthers RB Fozzy Whittaker (ankle) was a full participant in practice Wednesday, Jan. 20.
Fantasy Tip: Whittaker ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) may be called upon more than usual this weekend if Jonathan Stewart is unable to play or limited at all. There is some sleeper appeal, but there is still risk, too, as his playing time isn't necessarily guaranteed.

Panthers | Fozzy Whittaker returns |
Wed, 20 Jan 2016 09:01:48 -0800
Carolina Panthers RB Fozzy Whittaker (ankle) returned to practice Wednesday, Jan. 20.
Fantasy Tip: Whittaker ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) probably won't have a big role unless Jonathan Stewart (ankle, foot) is limited, but he could be worth a cap-saving flex buy against the Arizona Cardinals on FantasyScore.

Carolina Panthers RB Fozzy Whittaker (ankle) is close to full strength and plans to practice Wednesday, Jan. 20.

Fri, 15 Jan 2016 09:07:35 -0800
Carolina Panthers RB Fozzy Whittaker (ankle) was ruled out for the divisional game against the Seattle Seahawks Sunday, Jan. 17.
Fantasy Tip: Jonathan Stewart ($6,700, 13.4% of cap) has a tough draw with the Seahawks, but he's an RB2 consideration since the pool doesn't have much certainty at the position.

Panthers | Fozzy Whittaker out again |
Thu, 14 Jan 2016 11:44:26 -0800
Carolina Panthers RB Fozzy Whittaker (ankle) missed practice for the second straight day Thursday, Jan. 14, and head coach Ron Rivera doesn't expect Whittaker to return in the divisional round against the Seattle Seahawks Sunday, Jan. 17.
Fantasy Tip: Jonathan Stewart ($6,700, 13.4% of cap) is returning to the backfield, but he's a bust candidate after missing the final four weeks of the regular season and facing off against the toughest fantasy matchup for running backs in Seattle.

Panthers | Fozzy Whittaker not expected to play |
Wed, 13 Jan 2016 11:53:17 -0800
Carolina Panthers RB Fozzy Whittaker (ankle) is expected to miss the divisional round game against the Seattle Seahawks Sunday, Jan. 17.
Fantasy Tip: Even with Jonathan Stewart back this weekend, Carolina's running game is likely to struggle, as the Seahawks were the worst fantasy matchup for runners this season.

Panthers | Fozzy Whittaker not practicing |
Wed, 13 Jan 2016 10:40:00 -0800
Carolina Panthers RB Fozzy Whittaker (ankle) is out of practice Wednesday, Jan. 13, as he continues to deal with a high ankle sprain.
Fantasy Tip: Whittaker ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is very shaky, at best, to play against the Seattle Seahawks. You wouldn't want to use Whittaker as a deep sleeper anyway against a very stingy run defense.

Panthers | Jonathan Stewart, Ted Ginn will practice |
Mon, 11 Jan 2016 09:42:48 -0800
Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (foot) and WR Ted Ginn Jr. (knee) will both be on the practice field Wednesday, Jan. 13, according to head coach Ron Rivera. Both Stewart and Ginn missed Week 17 but are expected to play against the Seattle Seahawks in the divisional round. RB Fozzy Whittaker (ankle) is a question mark.
Fantasy Tip: Neither Stewart nor Ginn will be popular daily picks in the divisional round against a stout Seahawks defense. Stewart is especially unattractive coming off an injury against the toughest defense for fantasy players against the run this season.

Panthers | Three Panthers sit out of practice |
Wed, 06 Jan 2016 10:31:53 -0800
Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (foot) and WR Ted Ginn Jr. (knee) were conditioning but did not practice Wednesday, Jan. 6. RB Fozzy Whittaker (ankle) also didn't practice but is out of his walking boot.
Fantasy Tip: The Panthers have an extra week of rest to heal up, so all three of these players could be available for the divisional round. Whittaker is the biggest question mark. Stay tuned on their status as the week progresses.

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (foot) and RB Fozzy Whittaker (ankle) did not participate in practice Friday, Jan. 1, and have been ruled out for the Week 17 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Fantasy Tip: Cameron Artis-Payne ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) probably will receive most of the carries against the Buccaneers. He has had some success in his limited playing time this season and could be a cheaper option for owners on FantasyScore.

Updating previous reports, Carolina Panthers RB Fozzy Whittaker (ankle) suffered a mild high-ankle sprain Sunday, Dec. 27. He's out for Week 17 but hopeful for the playoffs.

Panthers | Fozzy Whittaker injured |
Sun, 27 Dec 2015 12:30:28 -0800
Carolina Panthers RB Fozzy Whittaker (ankle) suffered an ankle injury during the team's Week 16 game and is considered doubtful to return.
Fantasy Tip: Whittaker has been starting with Jonathan Stewart out of the lineup, so owners should look for an update on his status. Whittaker will go back to a backup rule once Stewart returns, so he may not be a great option moving forward.

Panthers | Fozzy Whittaker likely to start |
Wed, 16 Dec 2015 12:07:45 -0800
Carolina Panthers RB Fozzy Whittaker is likely to start at running back with RB Jonathan Stewart (foot) expected to sit out in Week 15 against the New York Giants, according to head coach Ron Rivera.
Fantasy Tip: In a great matchup against the Giants, Whittaker ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is surely worth a look as a deep sleeper on FantasyScore. Mike Tolbert ($2,000) qualifies as well and can vulture touchdowns near the goal line. Cameron Artis-Payne ($2,000) should be active but probably won't see enough work to be fantasy relevant.

Sun, 13 Dec 2015 15:53:51 -0800
Carolina Panthers RB Fozzy Whittaker carried eight times for 34 yards and a touchdown in the Week 14 game against the Atlanta Falcons and he had one reception.
Fantasy Tip: Whittaker saw extra work with Jonathan Stewart checking out early due to a foot injury. It appears Stewart's departure was more of a precaution due to the lopsided game and he should be fine for Week 15. If not, remember Whittaker for the game against the New York Giants.
