Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones praised RB Lance Dunbar at the NFL meetings. "Dunbar is pretty impressive when you look back (on his season)," Jerry Jones said. "When he got his chances, he did real well. He was in some pretty critical situations. He's got a real receiver knack. He can find the soft spot. He gives us an alternative. He's going to have to make the contribution on special teams. It's hard not to have that third back be a special teams contributor."

Dallas Cowboys RB Felix Jones (knee) was able to play in Week 12 against the Washington Redskins Thursday, Nov. 22, and he had six rushes for a team-best 14 yards. Jones was able to score a touchdown on a catch, finishing with three grabs and 47 yards. RB Lance Dunbar had one run for eight yards, and he added three grabs for 21 yards.

RB Felix Jones (shoulder, knee) isn't 100 percent, but he is probable on the team's official injury report for Week 9. The Cowboys would prefer to continue relying on him because RBs Phillip Tanner and Lance Dunbar are not as sound in pass protection.

Dallas Cowboys RB Felix Jones' (knee, neck) health now is an area of concern as the team prepares for its Week 9 game. In addition to a bruised knee suffered in a game Oct. 21, Jones also suffered a nerve irritation in his neck in the first series of that game. Jones carried the ball 13 times for just 19 yards in Week 8. He was on the practice field Thursday, Nov. 1, with his knee taped up. "We'll see what his health is going into this game," head coach Jason Garrett said. "Certainly those other guys have to be ready to play." RBs Phillip Tanner and Lance Dunbar are the only two healthy backs currently on the roster.

Former WR Patrick Crayton is the biggest success story from past workouts, but current RB Phillip Tanner is an example on the current roster of a player who caught the eye of the team in Dallas Day workouts. Four players were inked as a result of these workouts this year. LB Adrian Hamilton is a pass rusher who has a chance to make the team. CB Isaac Madison earned some reps with the first-team nickel package, and will be fighting for a fifth cornerback job in training camp.
