The Dallas Cowboys believe RB Joseph Randle can be a full-time running back if something happened to RB DeMarco Murray. Randle will have to compete with RBs Lance Dunbar and Phillip Tanner for the No. 2 running back job during training camp.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones praised RB Lance Dunbar at the NFL meetings. "Dunbar is pretty impressive when you look back (on his season)," Jerry Jones said. "When he got his chances, he did real well. He was in some pretty critical situations. He's got a real receiver knack. He can find the soft spot. He gives us an alternative. He's going to have to make the contribution on special teams. It's hard not to have that third back be a special teams contributor."

Dallas Cowboys RB Felix Jones (knee) was able to play in Week 12 against the Washington Redskins Thursday, Nov. 22, and he had six rushes for a team-best 14 yards. Jones was able to score a touchdown on a catch, finishing with three grabs and 47 yards. RB Lance Dunbar had one run for eight yards, and he added three grabs for 21 yards.

Dallas Cowboys RB Lance Dunbar could start if RB Felix Jones (knee) is unable to play. "I think I'll be ready," Dunbar said. "I've been here long enough to learn the offense and my assignments to help my team win and do whatever they need me to do whenever they need me to do." Dunbar has closed the deal in the fourth quarter during the team's two-game winning streak. He's rushed for a total of 30 yards during that span.
