Mon, 17 Jun 2013 12:40:08 -0700 Detroit Lions WR Ryan Broyles (knee) is expected to be the No. 3 wide receiver behind WRs Calvin Johnson and Nate Burleson this season.
Mon, 17 Jun 2013 10:08:23 -0700 Detroit Lions WR Ryan Broyles (knee) expects to be ready for the 2013 season as he continues rehabbing the torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. He participated fully in all three days he was active for Detroit's minicamp last week. Broyles said he learned how to take more care this time because he had experience in tearing his left knee back in 2011 at Oklahoma. Fantasy Tip: A healthy Broyles could offer late-round value, more definitively in PPR leagues.
Fri, 14 Jun 2013 06:16:47 -0700 Detroit Lions WR Ryan Broyles (knee) expects to avoid the Physically Unable to Perform list and was a full participant in all three days of minicamp this week.
Wed, 12 Jun 2013 11:35:28 -0700 Detroit Lions WR Ryan Broyles (knee) was able to fully participate in practice for the second consecutive day Wednesday, June 12.
Fri, 31 May 2013 11:14:48 -0700 Detroit Lions WR Patrick Edwards, who missed out on a chance to join the active roster last year due to an injury, has impressed the coaches during a minicamp over the weekend. Edwards finished his career at the University of Houston with 291 catches for 4,507 yards and 43 touchdowns, but he went undrafted in 2012. "He's a lot stronger right now than he was last year," head coach Jim Schwartz said. "He runs much better routes. He has a much better understanding of the offense, which you would expect. He's always had the ability to make a play. He's another guy that's in the mix returning kicks and punts." Fantasy Tip: With Ryan Broyles rehabbing from a torn ACL, Edwards has an excellent opportunity to move up the depth chart and become the No. 3 wide receiver to start the year. In an offense that should continue to be explosive through the air, Edwards could be a deep sleeper if defenses put all their effort into shutting down Calvin Johnson. Keep Edwards' name in the back of your mind.
Wed, 29 May 2013 13:05:08 -0700 Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz said WR Ryan Broyles (knee) is making progress in his rehab from a torn anterior cruciate ligament, but there is no timetable for his return. "There is really no such thing as a target (to return), but he's making good progress. He's working through, almost in the same position he was last year with the exception of he knows the offense and he had a little bit of experience last year. It's just a matter of getting healthy."
Thu, 16 May 2013 12:34:01 -0700 Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz said the team drafted WR Ryan Broyles in part because of his return abilities.
Tue, 05 Feb 2013 06:31:25 -0800 Detroit Lions WR Nate Burleson (leg) and WR Ryan Broyles (knee) could have larger roles in the offense next season with WR Titus Young gone. Burleson is coming off a broken leg but should be ready for the start of the offseason program. Broyles is coming off a torn anterior cruciate ligament and won't be ready until training camp.
Mon, 04 Feb 2013 11:41:06 -0800 Detroit Lions WR Ryan Broyles (knee) has begun running in a swimming pool as part of his rehab from a torn anterior cruciate ligament and hopes to be ready for the start of the regular season. He said this rehab should be easier than his first torn ACL recovery because he knows what to expect.
Fri, 07 Dec 2012 09:35:37 -0800 Detroit Lions WR Ryan Broyles (knee) underwent surgery to fix his right anterior cruciate ligament in his knee, according to head coach Jim Schwartz. The team is hopeful that Broyles will be ready for next season.
