Boston Red Sox P Daniel McGrath, signed Tuesday, Feb. 7, had 15 teams bidding on him, but was partial toward the Red Sox. He has a fastball which tops out at 91 mph, and averages 88. He also throws a curveball and changeup, both which have a chance to be above-average pitches. He will finish high school this year, then go to Australian baseball academy before a trip to the world championship in Korea in August.

The Boston Red Sox have agreed to terms with free-agent P Daniel McGrath (Australia), a 17-year-old pitcher from Australia. He was reportedly choosing between attending college in the United States or signing a pro contract.
