Bengals | Defense will not change much |
Sun, 23 Feb 2014 20:02:14 -0800
Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator Paul Guenther said the defense will not change much from what they have been doing. "Our defense isn't going to change. Our players know it. I know it. I'll put a couple new wrinkles in where I think we were a little vanilla in some areas. I will change a little bit of things, along the way when [Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer] first got here I was taking notes the whole time when I'd say when I get an opportunity I'd like the way we do this, I like the way we do this, but this area right here I think we can fix and get it better. So, over those five years I have three notebooks full of stuff. Sometimes I have to write it down or won't go back to it for another year or when I get an opportunity to do this. For the most part, we are not going to change all that much," Guenther said.

Bengals | Paul Guenther is assistant on rise |
Sun, 12 Jan 2014 19:32:06 -0800
If Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer leaves for a head coaching gig, or a job with another organization, the best and most logical candidate to fill the void is linebackers coach Paul Guenther. He is viewed as an assistant on the rise, according to beat writer Joe Reedy. Plus, Washington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden, and former Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator, would be interested in talking to Guenther for a job on his staff, so it makes sense to promote him.
