Minnesota Vikings WR Michael Floyd (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Week 7 but said he is optimistic about his chances of playing. Floyd also said he would like to see more targets in the passing game.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd has recorded two catches and 24 yards in two games this season and has been targeted four times during that span. He could receive some more playing time this week with Stefon Diggs sidelined but should be avoided in fantasy leagues.

Vikings | Michael Floyd leaves game

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 12:39:05 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Michael Floyd (calf) suffered a calf injury in Week 6 and is considered questionable to return.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd recorded only one reception for five yards in the game and his status for Week 7 is uncertain at this point. Owners should be able to find better options to use and can avoid Floyd most weeks.

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 09:15:22 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Michael Floyd is in the starting lineup against the Green Bay Packers in place of WR Stefon Diggs (groin).

Fantasy Tip: Floyd made his season debut last week and finished with one catches for 19 yards. He should receive more targets this week and could be a flex option in some deeper leagues but could also be avoided if owners have better options available.

Vikings | Michael Floyd activated

Mon, 09 Oct 2017 11:59:06 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Michael Floyd, who was the first four games of the season due to suspension, was added to the roster Monday, Oct. 9, and is expected to play Monday, Oct. 9, versus the Chicago Bears. RB Stevan Ridley was released to make room for Floyd on the roster.

Fantasy Tip: Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen have a stranglehold on the starting receiver jobs in Minnesota, so if Floyd contributes much tonight, it will likely be inside the red zone. His size gives him something the offense doesn't otherwise have. Floyd can be ignored in fantasy for now.

Vikings | Michael Floyd finishes suspension

Tue, 03 Oct 2017 23:13:43 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Michael Floyd is eligible to return to the active roster after serving his four-game suspension. He's expected to practice with the team Thursday, Oct. 5.

Fantasy Tip: Despite a tough situation at quarterback, Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen have more than held their own, sitting first and third, respectively, in receiving yardage through four games. That probably caps Floyd's ceiling as the team's No. 3 receiver, which doesn't figure to have appreciable fantasy value. As such, there's no reason to make a move on Floyd this week.

Vikings | Michael Floyd on suspended list

Sat, 02 Sep 2017 13:52:43 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Michael Floyd was placed on the Reserve/Suspended list Saturday, Sept. 2.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd will miss the first four games of the season and it is uncertain what role he will have when he returns. Owners can pass on Floyd during drafts, but he could be a waiver wire option during the season.

Vikings | Michael Floyd standing out

Sat, 05 Aug 2017 08:40:03 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Michael Floyd has reportedly received "plenty of work" in the team's top three-receiver package with Laquon Treadwell missing time this week and taken advantage, making several impressive sideline catches after separating from defensive backs in 1-on-1 drills on Friday, Aug. 4. "(He's looked) pretty dang good. He's made probably the most contested of anybody in the camp. He's a big, physical body, which helps in the run game, and I think he's done a nice job in the routes. Some of the routes, he's a little faster than he looks," head coach Mike Zimmer said.

Fantasy Tip: Treadwell had reportedly been running with the ones since the spring, so maybe Floyd's "rebirth" this week will change that a bit. Regardless, Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen are locked in as starters, meaning Floyd would be mostly a situational deep threat once he serves his four-game suspension to begin the season. He can be left undrafted in most leagues.

Minnesota Vikings WR Jarius Wright is no lock to make the team, according to ESPN's Ben Goessling, following the offseason signing of WR Michael Floyd and the selection of rookie WRs Rodney Adams and Stacy Coley in the draft. Cardinals | John Brown ready for big season?

Sat, 15 Jul 2017 21:31:18 -0700

Arizona Cardinals WR John Brown will be the main beneficiary of the departure of Minnesota Vikings WR Michael Floyd, according to Jordan Schultz of Yahoo! Sports. Floyd accounted for 88 targets for the Cardinals last season.

Fantasy Tip: Brown was a 1,000-yard receiver in 2015, and now that he is healthy and the No. 2 option behind Larry Fitzgerald, WR3 protection is a good bet.

Vikings | Michael Floyd receives suspension

Fri, 14 Jul 2017 13:18:40 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Michael Floyd has been suspended for the first four games of the 2017 season, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd has had some off the field problems over the last year and will miss the first month of the season because of the suspension. Floyd had some value when he signed with the Vikings but probably can be avoided in fantasy leagues now. Adam Thielen could see more targets this season and can be a No. 3 receiver in leagues.

Thu, 13 Jul 2017 14:36:39 -0700

Vikings | Michael Floyd to remain on roster

Mon, 26 Jun 2017 21:18:45 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Michael Floyd will remain with the team despite receiving a one-day jail sentence, according to general manager Rick Spielman, who said that Floyd will be expected with the rest of the club at the start of training camp when players report on July 26.

Fantasy Tip: Even so, Floyd has fallen mightily over the last year and shouldn't really be considered even in the deepest of fantasy leagues. He's far down on the depth chart and it's highly unlikely he works his way into getting regular targets from Sam Bradford, especially with Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen already absorbing most of the looks.

Vikings | Michael Floyd has work to do

Fri, 16 Jun 2017 20:27:29 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Michael Floyd said Thursday, June 15, that he still has plenty of work to do in order to be comfortable with the offense before training camp begins in July.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd is trying to claim the No. 3 receiver role, but even if he wins the job, he is unlikely to have any consistent value in Minnesota's limited passing attack.

Vikings | Michael Floyd contract info

Thu, 25 May 2017 23:37:03 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Michael Floyd's one-year deal that contains no guaranteed money, according to ESPN's Ben Goessling. That means the team has no financial commitment to Floyd should he fail to make the final cut.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd teased for years in Arizona as part of a much better passing attack. There are certainly opportunities to earn snaps in Minnesota, but it's unlikely Floyd will do enough to return meaningful value. He's best left on waivers.

Vikings | Michael Floyd will adjust quickly

Sun, 21 May 2017 19:34:23 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Michael Floyd won't have any issues picking up the offensive system, according to head coach Mike Zimmer.

Fantasy Tip: Even if Floyd earns steady playing time, he is going to have a tough time providing much fantasy value as part of a Minnesota offense that relies on shorter throws. You can leave him on the waiver wire.

Vikings | Michael Floyd to practice soon

Thu, 18 May 2017 18:49:09 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Michael Floyd will begin practicing next week after having the remainder of his 96-day house arrest transferred from Arizona to Minnesota, according to a league source.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd could claim the No. 3 receiver job in Minnesota, but being the third or fourth option in a dink-and-dump passing game doesn't translate to a lot of fantasy appeal. He is just a late-round flier.

Vikings | Minnesota adding Michael Floyd

Wed, 10 May 2017 12:17:10 -0700

Free-agent WR Michael Floyd (Patriots) agreed to terms on a one-year deal with the Minnesota Vikings Wednesday, May 10, according to sources. The deal is worth $1.5 million, but Floyd could make as much as $6 million based on incentives.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd may receive the chance to compete for the No. 3 receiver job during training camp but probably will be the No. 4 receiver at worst. He probably will see a limited amount of targets in 2017 but could be a late-round option in some deeper leagues.

Patriots | Michael Floyd will not return to Pats

Sun, 07 May 2017 15:39:24 -0700

Free-agent WR Michael Floyd (Patriots) will not be re-signing with the New England Patriots this offseason, according to ESPNBoston.com's Mike Reiss.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd has been connected with a few teams this offseason and could sign in the near future. He finished last season with 488 yards and five touchdowns but only had one reception during the playoffs. He could find the job as a No. 3 receiver for a team but probably will be a late-round option at best in standard leagues.

Vikings | Vikings interested in Michael Floyd

Thu, 04 May 2017 16:36:44 -0700

The Minnesota Vikings are "highly, highly interested" in free-agent WR Michael Floyd (Patriots).

Fantasy Tip: Floyd endured the most disappointing season of his five-year career in 2016, getting cut by the only team he played for following a DUI arrest in December and finishing with just 33 catches for 446 yards. Ironically, he did manage to capture his first Super Bowl ring for his late stint with the Patriots, but other than that, his numbers were down across the board. If he were to land in Minnesota, that might be a fine spot for the 27-year-old to get his career back on track.

Patriots | Michael Floyd unlikely to return to NE

Fri, 24 Mar 2017 09:22:14 -0700

Free-agent WR Michael Floyd (Patriots) is a "long shot" to return to the New England Patriots after they acquired Brandin Cooks earlier this month, according to ESPN's Mike Reiss.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd was sentenced to 24 days in jail and 96 days of home detention earlier this offseason as a result of his in-season extreme DUI, so the combination of that punishment and the Patriots' trade of Cooks doesn't leave much room for him. It looks like Floyd could be waiting until training camp before he finds a home, if even then.

Patriots | Michael Floyd gets jail sentence

Fri, 17 Feb 2017 13:00:17 -0800

New England Patriots WR Michael Floyd was sentenced Friday, Feb. 17, after pleading guilty to his extreme DUI charge. He will have to spend 120 days in jail, 24 of which to be served in Maricopa County Jail and the other 96 to be served under house arrest. In addition, Floyd must pay a $5,115 fine and complete 30 hours of community service. The other six charges against him were dismissed.

Fantasy Tip: It's been a significant fall from grace for Floyd, someone who was flirting with regular WR2 status in many leagues as recent as the 2015 season. The former Cardinal will serve all of his jail time during the offseason, but he's also an impending free agent that will be facing a suspension from the NFL as well, not to mention the fact he's coming off a down campaign. Floyd has ways to go to become fantasy relevant again.

Patriots | NE would like to bring back Michael Floyd

Mon, 06 Feb 2017 00:47:33 -0800

The New England Patriots would like to bring back WR Michael Floyd for the 2017 season, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: He was inactive for the Super Bowl, but reports indicate the Patriots kept four receivers so they wouldn't be short on special teams or with their red-zone offense. Floyd may be a WR2 or WR3 at best next year thanks to the Pats' plethora of options.

Patriots | Michael Floyd expected to be inactive

Sun, 05 Feb 2017 12:11:48 -0800

New England Patriots WR Michael Floyd is expected to be a healthy scratch for Super Bowl LI.

Fantasy Tip: It's really not a surprise after he was a healthy scratch for the AFC Championship. Floyd would be the Patriots' fifth receiver behind Julian Edelman, Chris Hogan, Malcolm Mitchell and Danny Amendola. Virtually any fifth receiver on a game-day roster has to contribute on special teams, and Floyd does not. Along with his limited knowledge of the Patriots' complex offense - he was claimed off waivers on Dec. 15 - the odds are stacked against him playing in the Super Bowl.

Fri, 03 Feb 2017 06:57:59 -0800

New England Patriots impending free-agent WR Michael Floyd said he wants to re-sign with the Patriots in the offseason.

Fantasy Tip: In the near term, Floyd was inactive for the AFC Championship game, and he doesn't figure to be a factor for the Super Bowl. If he returns to the Pats, he'd be an excellent WR4 flyer next season.

New England Patriots WR Michael Floyd finished with on catch on three targets for nine yards in a 34-16 win over the Houston Texans Saturday, Jan. 14.

New England Patriots WR Michael Floyd likely will serve as the No. 4 receiver for the Patriots if WR Malcolm Mitchell (knee) is not able to play in the Divisional round playoff game.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd has made a solid contribution since joining the Patriots but probably would not receive a lot of targets if he plays against the Houston Texans. Owners probably can find better options and can avoid Floyd.

Sun, 01 Jan 2017 19:15:19 -0800

Patriots | Michael Floyd active

Sat, 24 Dec 2016 08:51:23 -0800

New England Patriots WR Michael Floyd is active Sunday, Dec. 24, for Week 16 against the New York Jets.

Fantasy Tip: Floyd cannot possibly have a full grasp on the playbook at this point, and even if he plays at all, there is no way gamers can trust him in championship week. There is an outside chance he scores, as being a deep threat is in his wheelhouse, but there is not a justification for finding out the hard way.

Sat, 24 Dec 2016 08:05:45 -0800

New England Patriots WR Michael Floyd is expected to be active for Week 16's game against the New York Jets.

Updating previous reports, New England Patriots WR Michael Floyd will be inactive for the team's Week 15 game against the Denver Broncos, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
