Tue, 11 Jun 2013 09:32:54 -0700 Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd appears to be an important piece to new head coach Bruce Arians as the team heads into the 2013 season. He seems to have been targeted more than any other player during workouts. WR Larry Fitzgerald took Floyd under his wing last year and has helped the second-year receiver to improve his diet, among other things. Arians said, "I see him making leaps and bounds getting better. ... He's totally bought in and if he just continues to improve his fundamentals he's another guy who can have a breakout year." Fantasy Tip: Floyd is certainly an interesting sleeper, especially given the addition of QB Carson Palmer and the team's improvements on the offensive line. Hopefully the hype won't exceed the possible rewards come draft day.
Mon, 03 Jun 2013 15:32:53 -0700 Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald said he believes WR Michael Floyd is on the verge of having a big season. Fantasy Tip: Floyd had a solid season in 2012 but likely will receive a bigger role this season under head coach Bruce Arians. Owners should consider Floyd as a No. 4 fantasy wide receiver that has the chance to become a No. 3 receiver during the season.
Wed, 15 May 2013 15:04:08 -0700 Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer said he wants to build chemistry with all of the wide receivers because he will not be able to throw to WR Larry Fitzgerald all the time. "It's of the utmost importance to be on the same page with Larry, but it's of the utmost importance to be on the same page with every one of those guys because the ball can't always go to him," Palmer said. "I know that's not what he wants to hear, but that's the truth. There will be teams that key on him and there will be games where he doesn't have as many catches as other games. It's that much more important I have that rhythm and timing down with [WR Michael Floyd] and [WR Andre Roberts] and whoever that third and fourth guy is going to be."
Tue, 14 May 2013 20:59:32 -0700 Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd looked impressive in the first day of organized team activities (OTAs) Tuesday, May 14. He ran with the first team more than WR Andre Roberts, who also had a good showing.
Sat, 24 Nov 2012 12:48:52 -0800 The Arizona Cardinals are unhappy with the lapses in concentration that WR Michael Floyd has shown this season and demoted him to the fourth wide receiver in Week 11 because of several focus issues during the game. Floyd is still expected to receive a good amount of playing time with the season winding down.
Sun, 18 Nov 2012 16:49:10 -0800 Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt said Sunday, Nov. 18, that WR Michael Floyd was benched in the Week 11 game against the Atlanta Falcons when he did not line up correctly.
Wed, 14 Nov 2012 16:41:13 -0800 Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt said WR Michael Floyd has earned more playing time in the second half of the season. Floyd has played just over 60 percent of the offensive plays in the team's last two contests compared to around 40 or 45 percent the rest of the season. Floyd was targeted 18 times in the first seven games (eight catches) and has been thrown to 18 times in the last two games alone (10 catches).
Tue, 13 Nov 2012 12:30:29 -0800 Arizona Cardinals WR Early Doucet will likely be the odd-man out with WR Michael Floyd expected to become a bigger part of the offense in the second half of the season. WR Andre Roberts will likely line up opposite WR Larry Fitzgerald in the team's two-receiver sets, but Floyd is a prototypical outside receiver in three-wide sets. "If Mike played more, he's just learning the 'Z' (position) and I would be forced to go into the slot," Roberts said. "I don't know what that would do to my reps. We have a whole bunch of formations. We'll see."
Mon, 05 Nov 2012 18:02:56 -0800 Arizona Cardinals WR Early Doucet was credited with two drops in Week 9 against the Green Bay Packers, and he has six drops on 39 targets. He lost playing time to rookie WR Michael Floyd as the game progressed, and that trend might continue following the team's bye.
Mon, 05 Nov 2012 10:20:03 -0800 Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt said WR Michael Floyd will continue to receive more reps on offense moving forward.
