Green Bay Packers CB Charles Woodson (collarbone) could be ready to return against the Chicago Bears in Week 15, according to head coach Mike McCarthy. "If you ask Charles, he's probably pushing to play this week," McCarthy said. "There's some more testing that you have to do to make sure he's cleared. He has not been cleared yet." It may be hard for Green Bay to pull CB Casey Hayward at his position in the slot corner when Woodson returns.

Green Bay Packers DBs Casey Hayward, Davon House, Jerron McMillian and M.D. Jennings have combined for nine pass breakups, including Jennings' interception return for a touchdown in Week 11. They have been filling in with DBs Sam Shields (ankle) and Charles Woodson (collarbone) out. Hayward has filled Shields' role in the base defense and Woodson's role inside in the nickel and dime packages. House played in all 72 defensive snaps against Detroit.

Green Bay Packers CB Sam Shields (ankle) is expected to find himself in a fight for his starting job when he is able to return from injury. Cornerbacks coach Joe Whitt indicated that CB Casey Hayward has not done enough to keep his starting job for the entire season, but also indicated Shields is not a shoo-in for the starting job when he returns from injury. Whitt also mentioned that CB Davon House is in the mix for duties.

Green Bay Packers CB Casey Hayward will make his first NFL start in Week 7 against the St. Louis Rams, subbing for the injured CB Sam Shields (shin). Hayward had two interceptions in Week 6 against the Houston Texans. "He's been playing at a pretty high level," cornerbacks coach Joe Whitt Jr. said Friday, Oct. 19. "He does not play like a rookie."

Green Bay Packers CB Jarrett Bush, CB Casey Hayward, SS Jerron McMillian and CB Brandian Ross worked extensively as inside cornerbacks during organized team activities (OTAs) and minicamp, and are the lead candidates in the role in the dime defense. Bush is the presumed leader heading into training camp since he has the most NFL experience.

The Green Bay Packers have signed second-round draft choice CB Casey Hayward, fourth-round draft choice DT Mike Daniels, fifth-round draft choice LB Terrell Manning and seventh-round draft choice QB B.J. Coleman. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.
