Steelers | Ladarius Green misses practice

Thu, 08 Dec 2016 17:16:07 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (non-injury) did not practice Thursday, Dec. 8.

Fantasy Tip: It may have just been a day of rest for Green, and there has been no indication that his status for Week 14 is in jeopardy. Coming off a 110-yard performance, he is a TE1 against the Bills.

Steelers | Ladarius Green shines in win

Sun, 04 Dec 2016 23:01:33 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green posted six receptions for 110 yards and a touchdown in the Week 13 game against the New York Giants. "I'm not close to where I thought I would be, but I'm getting closer," Green said Sunday, Dec. 4. "I'm building a little more confidence every game."

Fantasy Tip: Green was targeted 11 times, and it was a combination of Green getting better in the offense, healthier and the Giants not paying much mind to opposing tight ends. He is worth adding in all fantasy leagues in Week 14, especially if you continue to search for a replacement for someone like Rob Gronkowski.

Steelers | Ladarius Green making solid progress

Tue, 29 Nov 2016 09:49:35 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green should expect increased reps moving forward and has the coaching staff "excited" about potential contributions, according to head coach Mike Tomlin.

Fantasy Tip: Green has yet to play more than 14 snaps in any of the three games since his return, but it sounds as if that is about to change. He is rare downfield threat for a player at his position for a team that is beat up at receiver, and he flashed his big-play ability Thanksgiving night by gashing the Indianapolis Colts for 67 yards on two catches. While his biggest impact will probably be felt in 2017, he has at least entered the TE2 conversation.

Steelers | Ladarius Green on the upswing?

Sat, 26 Nov 2016 10:57:51 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green played only 14-of-54 snaps in Week 12 against the Indianapolis Colts after getting 20 total snaps in his first two weeks back from injury, but head coach Mike Tomlin sounded as if he's ready to see his level of participation increase. "There's one thing to be healthy. There's another to be football-ready. He's been healthy for a number of weeks, and we're seeing him display some football readiness, so hopefully that continues," Tomlin said.

Fantasy Tip: It's important to remember Green didn't log his first practice - offseason or regular season - with the team until Oct. 25, so the fact he is contributing at all a month later is rather amazing. He still shouldn't be expected to be a difference-maker during the fantasy playoffs, but he is definitely making a case for himself to head into 2017 on the right note.

Steelers | Ladarius Green to be full go in Week 12

Tue, 22 Nov 2016 23:08:17 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green will not be under any snap restrictions in Week 12, according to offensive coordinator Todd Haley, who said Green would be a "full go" against the Indianapolis Colts.

Fantasy Tip: Green's goose egg against the Browns this past Sunday was a major disappointment, but Haley says the training wheels are coming off, and the Colts have some health concerns in their secondary. If you're looking for a high-upside play, Green has some appeal.

Steelers | Bigger workload for Ladarius Green

Fri, 18 Nov 2016 18:32:26 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (knee) played 12 snaps in his debut in Week 10, and he said he is going to be involved in the game plan more going forward.

Fantasy Tip: Green finished with three catches for 34 yards in his debut, and the possibility of a bigger workload against the Browns in Week 11 makes him a low-end TE1 candidate.

Steelers | Ladarius Green should be in uniform

Fri, 18 Nov 2016 13:52:03 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 18, and is not on the injury report for Week 11.

Fantasy Tip: Green was limited in his first game of the season and should see more snaps against the Cleveland Browns. He should see more targets in the game and could be a low-end No. 1 tight end in deeper leagues.

Steelers | Ladarius Green logs full session

Thu, 17 Nov 2016 17:19:10 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (knee) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Nov. 17.

Fantasy Tip: Green had a decent debut last weekend, and his role in the offense should continue to grow. He should sneak into TE1 territory against the Browns in Week 11.

Steelers | Ladarius Green limited

Wed, 16 Nov 2016 13:29:21 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (knee) was limited during practice Wednesday, Nov. 16.

Fantasy Tip: Green received limited snaps in Week 10 since it was his first game of the season but should receive more work this week. He may receive more targets in the passing game because of the injuries the team had at wide receiver. He will have a favorable matchup in Week 11 and can be a low-end No. 1 tight end in fantasy leagues.

Steelers | Ladarius Green posts three catches

Sun, 13 Nov 2016 20:49:32 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (ankle) made his regular season debut in the Week 10 game against the Dallas Cowboys. He was targeted four times.

Fantasy Tip: Green appears to be behind Jesse James on the depth chart and he is fighting for scraps with Xavier Grimble. As such, Green has very little fantasy appeal except in the deepest of formats.

Steelers | Ladarius Green activated

Sat, 12 Nov 2016 15:15:52 -0800

Updating previous posts, Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (ankle) has been activated from the physically unable to perform list and will dress for the game Sunday, Nov. 13, against the Dallas Cowboys. The team released OLB L.J. Fort to make room.

Fantasy Tip: Green may not be 100 percent, so you may want to avoid him for the first week. His stats should get better as time passes, however.

Steelers | Ladarius Green not all the way back

Sat, 12 Nov 2016 13:48:09 -0800

Updating an earlier report, Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (calf) said his explosiveness isn't 100 percent, but it's close. He's still working on rebuilding his calf.

Fantasy Tip: Green will have considerable rust to kick off, but he's worth stashing if you have space. He could be a dynamic piece in the fantasy playoffs.

Steelers | Ladarius Green set to come off PUP

Sat, 12 Nov 2016 10:09:17 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green was activated off the Physically Unable to Perform list Saturday, Nov. 12.

Fantasy Tip: Whether or not he makes his debut is another story, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Green is a top-five talent at tight end and has reportedly impressed in practice, so he makes for a worthy roster stash at a weak position. With that said, he is likely to be on a snap count this week and durability has long been a problem for the fifth-year tight end. If he is right physically and shows a good grasp of the playbook in the coming weeks, he could be a difference-maker during the fantasy football playoffs.

Steelers | Ladarius Green close to returning

Sat, 12 Nov 2016 08:22:00 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (ankle) is expected to be activated from the Physically Unable to Perform List this weekend, according to multiple sources. He is expected to play in Week 10's game against the Dallas Cowboys, although the decision ultimately rests in the hands of head coach Mike Tomlin.

Fantasy Tip: Green has missed the entire 2016 campaign while recovering from offseason ankle surgery, so he makes a risky play in all formats this weekend. However, he is expected to have an important role in the passing game, so owners in deeper seasonal leagues and daily fantasy games might find it worthwhile to take a gamble on him.

Steelers | Ladarius Green saw time with starters

Thu, 10 Nov 2016 10:52:20 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (ankle) said he received some snaps with the first-team offense during practice Wednesday, Nov. 9. He said he is optimistic about his status for Week 10, but indicated that the coaches will decide his status.

Fantasy Tip: Green has miss the first eight games because of offseason ankle surgery but may be able to play in the next week or two. He probably will have a decent role in the passing game when he does return to the lineup but would be a risky option for fantasy owners. He could be an option for desperate owners in daily fantasy leagues if he plays in Week 10.

Steelers | Ladarius Green could play in Week 10

Tue, 08 Nov 2016 10:20:17 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Ladarius Green (ankle) has a chance to play in Week 10 versus the Dallas Cowboys, according to head coach Mike Tomlin.

Fantasy Tip: Green is a tantalizing talent, but a rather small window left (one week) to get activated from the Physically Unable to Perform list, as his clock started when he began practicing two weeks ago. Tomlin said earlier Tuesday that Green has "done some nice things" and "proven his health", so perhaps optimism is warranted here. Owners in deeper leagues need to monitor him, although he is far from a sure thing to contribute at any point this season.

Steelers | Ladarius Green not expected to play

Thu, 03 Nov 2016 09:33:27 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (ankle) has little chance to play in Week 9, in the opinion of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Ed Bouchette.

Fantasy Tip: Green probably needs a few weeks of practice before he is ready to play, so owners can keep an eye on the situation. He may have a decent role in the passing game when he joins the lineup and could be a low-end No. 1 tight end against certain opponents.

Steelers | Ladarius Green could make Week 9 debut

Tue, 01 Nov 2016 10:09:32 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (ankle) has impressed the coaching staff with his attention to detail in his first few practices with the team. As a result, head coach Mike Tomlin acknowledged the possibility Green could see his first game action in Week 9 versus the Baltimore Ravens.

Fantasy Tip: Green's only work with the Steelers have come over the last week, as he did not log a single practice during the spring or summer after signing with the team as a free agent back in March. Owners shouldn't expect many snaps or much fantasy impact for at least a month, although there is no question he possesses the athleticism to contribute much sooner. As a result, Jesse James should remain relevant in fantasy for a few more weeks.

Steelers | Ladarius Green eyeing Week 9 return

Sat, 29 Oct 2016 18:17:56 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (ankle) returned to practice Tuesday, Oct. 25. He said he felt rusty but is hoping to make his season debut against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 9.

Fantasy Tip: Attempt to stash Green if you need help at the tight end position. He has TE1 upside.

Steelers | Ladarius Green to practice

Tue, 25 Oct 2016 06:44:50 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (ankle) is expected to practice Tuesday, Oct. 25, for the first time this season.

Fantasy Tip: The team will have three weeks to activate him from the Physically Unable to Perform list, so it'll take some time before we see him on the field. He's an excellent stash option if you have the roster space.

Steelers | Ladarius Green hopes to practice this week

Mon, 24 Oct 2016 11:55:08 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (ankle) told the media he expects to speak with head coach Mike Tomlin on Monday, Oct. 24, in hopes he can begin practice during the team's Week 8 bye.

Fantasy Tip: Green has not logged a single practice with the team since signing a four-year, $20 million contract back in March, so it would be foolish to expect an immediate contribution from him even if he is allowed to practice fully over the next two weeks. His talent makes him worth holding on deep rosters, but the odds of him doing anything of note this season dwindle by the week.

Steelers | Ladarius Green has no timetable

Thu, 20 Oct 2016 06:57:24 -0700

Updating previous reports, Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (ankle) has no timetable to begin practicing. Green was permitted to begin practicing Tuesday, Oct. 19.

Fantasy Tip: Green will likely need a couple of weeks of practice before he'll be able to play in a game. He's a solid chip at full health, but it's 50-50 whether he's worth stashing at this critical point in the fantasy season with bye weeks testing roster depth.

Steelers | No decision yet on Ladarius Green's status

Tue, 18 Oct 2016 10:45:02 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (ankle) is eligible to return to practice this week, but head coach Mike Tomlin said a decision to that end has yet to be made.

Fantasy Tip: Nearly seven weeks into the season, we really still do not have a good grasp on whether or not Green is still recovering from offseason ankle surgery or dealing with lingering effects from multiple concussions, which was once thought to be the main concern. With only one more game before the bye, the Steelers will likely sit him out Week 7 and attempt to have him ready for the second half of the season, beginning in Week 9 versus the Baltimore Ravens. Jesse James will continue to start in his absence.

Steelers | Ladarius Green eyeing Week 7 return

Sat, 08 Oct 2016 23:29:27 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (ankle) indicated a Week 7 return against the New England Patriots is "looking really good right now." Green is currently on the Physically Unable to Perform list, which requires him to miss the first six games.

Fantasy Tip: Green was a popular breakout candidate heading into the season and could add another dimension to Pittsburgh's dangerous passing game upon his return. Depending on the composition of your league and size of your bench, Green has some stash appeal.

Steelers | Ladarius Green goes to PUP list

Tue, 30 Aug 2016 13:13:16 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (ankle) was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list Tuesday, Aug. 30, meaning he will miss the first six games of the season.

Fantasy Tip: Jesse James is officially on the fantasy radar. He had a good showing with the first-team offense in their last preseason game, and he's a bargain right now in fantasy drafts as he can achieve TE1 status in any of the first six weeks of the season.

Steelers | Slow rehab for Ladarius Green

Thu, 25 Aug 2016 15:17:21 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (ankle) still hopes to be ready for Week 1, but acknowledged that the rehabilitation process is "very slow."

Fantasy Tip: If Green is sidelined for Week 1, then Jesse James would make for a nice, cheap tight end play in daily formats. Ben Roethlisberger frequented Heath Miller's catching radius and has always been fond of dumping the ball off to his tight ends. James is also a handcuff consideration for those who draft Green as their TE1.

Steelers | Ladarius Green calls headaches a rumor

Sat, 20 Aug 2016 13:57:38 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (concussion, ankle) said he has no idea where rumors of his headaches spawned.

Fantasy Tip: Green is still on the PUP list because of an ankle injury, but maybe his recurring headaches aren't as severe as originally believed. Either way, his status will need to be monitored leading up to the regular season, especially since he'll need to be taken off the PUP list before the season starts if he wants to play. If he is not ready, then Jesse James becomes a nice sleeper option as he should become the starting tight end in Pittsburgh.

Steelers | Jesse James in line to start

Thu, 18 Aug 2016 13:55:13 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Jesse James would start if TE Ladarius Green (concussion, ankle) is not ready by the start of the season. James has developed a nice red-zone rapport with QB Ben Roethlisberger, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com.

Fantasy Tip: James is becoming a pretty sneaky option at the tight end position. He can be had for nothing and could start at least half of the regular season depending on Green's status. As of now, James can probably even be claimed off waivers in most leagues while he's still under the radar.

Steelers | IR an option for Ladarius Green

Thu, 18 Aug 2016 13:48:22 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (concussion, ankle) could begin the regular season on the Reserve/Injured list, according to ESPN.com's Jeremy Fowler.

Fantasy Tip: Green's situation is murky at best right now. He could either retire, be cut, start the season on IR or be healthy enough by Week 1. Green is not totally undraftable, of course, but one should strongly consider taking Jesse James in a later round as a handcuff to Green.

Steelers | Mike Tomlin talks Ladarius Green

Fri, 12 Aug 2016 21:37:25 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (ankle) is on the Physically Unable to Perform list solely because of an ankle injury, head coach Mike Tomlin said Friday, Aug. 12.

Fantasy Tip: Rumor has it Green is dealing with headaches stemming from concussions and could be forced to retire. Tomlin's comments have to be taken with a grain of salt, and at this point, Green is a late-round, roll-of-the-dice pick.

Steelers | Ladarius Green could retire

Thu, 11 Aug 2016 13:09:00 -0700

Updating a previous report, Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (concussion) may be considering retirement if his recurring headaches persist, according to a source. There is also speculation that the Steelers could cut Green.

Fantasy Tip: A bad situation has quickly turned into a worse one for Green and the Steelers. If the tight end hangs up his cleats or is released, then Jesse James would suddenly garner sleeper attention. This situation will need to be monitored leading up to the regular season, but it's best to place Green outside of TE1 territory for now.

Steelers | Ladarius Green dealing with headaches

Thu, 11 Aug 2016 11:01:34 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (head, ankle) is not participating in practice because of recurring headaches and not because of his surgically repaired ankle, according to a member of the organization. Green suffered two concussions in two weeks last September.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to monitor the situation during the preseason to see if he will be ready for the regular season. He was expected to be a big part of the passing game this season, but it is not known when he will be able to return. Owners may want to drop him in their rankings a bit because of the injury, but he should still be a low-end No. 1 or a high-end No. 2 tight end if healthy.

Steelers | Ladarius Green still unable to go

Wed, 10 Aug 2016 19:04:42 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (ankle) remains on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list nearly two weeks after the open of training camp. He is still recovering from ankle surgery in January and has yet to practice with his new team. He will miss at least the first preseason game Friday, Aug. 12, against the Detroit Lions. Expectations are so low at this point, QB Ben Roethlisberger did not mention Green when talking about the team's tight end situation Tuesday, Aug. 9.

Fantasy Tip: Green has a ton of potential and could be a giant addition to the Pittsburgh offense, and way better than his predecessor Heath Miller. However, he needs to get on the field and build rapport with his new quarterback. If Green isn't ready for Week 1, it would likely be Jesse James, Xavier Grimble or David Johnson forced to step up. Green is still a nice middle-round fantasy pick in most drafts, but he needs to get healthy in a hurry. He is a TE1, but have depth on hand just in case.

Steelers | No timetable for Ladarius Green

Sat, 30 Jul 2016 06:20:52 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (ankle) does not have a timetable for when he will be able to return to practice.

Fantasy Tip: Green is recovering from offseason ankle surgery and likely will take his time returning to make sure he will be ready for the start of the regular season. Green should have a significant role in the passing game in 2016 and could be a low-end No. 1 tight end in some leagues.

Steelers | Ladarius Green placed on PUP list

Thu, 28 Jul 2016 14:06:12 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (ankle) was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list Thursday, July 28.

Fantasy Tip: Green is recovering from offseason surgery, so it is not known when he will be able to practice again. He should be an important part of the passing game this season and probably will be a low-end No. 1 or a No. 2 tight end if he is healthy.

Steelers | Ladarius Green idle from ankle surgery

Wed, 25 May 2016 11:32:07 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (ankle) is out of organized team activities as he recovers from offseason ankle surgery. He doesn't have a firm timetable, but he's hopeful to be ready for training camp.

Fantasy Tip: This shouldn't affect his draft stock unless it bleeds far into camp. Green has a ton of upside in this offense, and he's an upper-middle option at the position.

Steelers | Pittsburgh may use two TEs in red zone

Mon, 23 May 2016 18:24:37 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers TEs Ladarius Green and Jesse James may both be on the field at the same time in the red zone because of their height.

Fantasy Tip: Green should receive most of the playing time at tight end in 2016 because of his catching ability and should be a low-end No. 1 or No. 2 tight end in most fantasy leagues. James likely will be used as a blocker but can be a threat close to the end zone since he is one of the tallest receivers on the team. He can still be avoided in most leagues.

Steelers | Ladarius Green to stretch the field

Thu, 24 Mar 2016 09:10:48 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green will give the team a vertical threat at the position that retired TE Heath Miller didn't give them. "He'll bring us a dimension at tight end that we really haven't had," general manager Kevin Colbert said. "Heath was a great receiver, a great blocker. He wasn't really a stretch the field guy. Ladarius gives you that added dimension of speed, he'll have to work on his blocking to get caught up to where we need him to be. But the speed and vertical threat at tight end is really something we haven't had."

Fantasy Tip: Green will be a low-end TE1 with a lot of upside in drafts.

Steelers | Xavier Grimble could step up

Sun, 13 Mar 2016 17:03:44 -0700

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Xavier Grimble impressed the coaching staff in practice last year with his ability to catch passes down the seam, and he will be in the mix for the No. 2 tight end spot behind TE Ladarius Green, according to general manager Kevin Colbert.

Fantasy Tip: Even if Grimble is able to claim the No. 2 tight end spot, he won't be worth owning in fantasy leagues unless something happens to Green.

Steelers | Ladarius Green had surgery

Thu, 10 Mar 2016 13:19:08 -0800

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Ladarius Green (ankle) underwent ankle surgery at an undisclosed date, but he believes he'll be ready for training camp.

Fantasy Tip: Green is one of the more intriguing tight ends this year with a move to the potent Pittsburgh offense. Green is a great downfield weapon whose value was stunted behind Antonio Gates in San Diego. Now that he's the main man for the Steelers, he's a borderline TE1.

Steelers | Ladarius Green deal for four years

Wed, 09 Mar 2016 20:12:34 -0800

Updating a previous report, free-agent TE Ladarius Green (Chargers) agreed to terms with the Pittsburgh Steelers Wednesday, March 9. The deal is for four years and has $4.75 million in guaranteed money, with a max value of $20 million. The cap hit for the 2016 is just $2.44 million.

Fantasy Tip: Green has been in the shadow of Antonio Gates in San Diego, but showed glimpses of brilliance last season when Gates was suspended, and then injured. Green gets a chance to show what he can do on a much bigger stage, in a much better offense. He could emerge as a Top 10 option at his position for fantasy owners in 2016.

Steelers | Ladarius Green heading to Pittsburgh

Wed, 09 Mar 2016 14:08:58 -0800

Free-agent TE Ladarius Green (Chargers) will join the Pittsburgh Steelers pending a physical, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: The Steelers find their replacement for Heath Miller and add another dynamic playmaker to an already explosive offense. Green is an injury risk - having suffered multiple concussions among other injuries - but is a freakishly talented tight end with an ability to stretch the field. With Antonio Brown and Martavis Bryant to draw coverage away from him, Green could easily flirt with low-end TE1 value.

Steelers | Ladarius Green likely to PIT

Wed, 09 Mar 2016 09:38:43 -0800

San Diego Chargers impending free-agent TE Ladarius Green is expected to sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: The move would be big for both sides as Green looks to become a No. 1 tight end, and the Steelers lost Heath Miller to retirement. Green has a loaded offense around him that could allow him to reach the potential as a receiving tight end that he has teased fantasy owners with. Green could be a low-end TE1 consideration in drafts.

Jets | Ladarius Green of interest to Jets?

Sun, 06 Mar 2016 11:08:39 -0800

San Diego Chargers impending free-agent TE Ladarius Green could draw interest from the New York Jets in free agency, according to Brian Costello of The New York Post.

Fantasy Tip: New York's tight ends have definitely underachieved in recent years, and the likes of Jace Amaro and Jeff Cumberland don't exactly strike fear into the hearts of opponents. Green would likely provide the most fantasy value if he were to be signed by the Jets, but this is obviously just speculation right now.

Chargers | San Diego wants to keep Ladarius Green

Thu, 25 Feb 2016 12:39:04 -0800

San Diego Chargers impending free-agent TE Ladarius Green is a player the team would like to keep. Chargers general manager Tom Telesco intends to meet with Green's player rep at the NFL Combine this week.

Fantasy Tip: Green was underutilized for the bulk of his first four years in San Diego and may not be willing to wait any longer behind Antonio Gates, who is also a free agent the team is interested in bringing back. Green figures to be a hot commodity if he makes it to the open market and could easily be a dark-horse TE1 candidate next season if he lands in a favorable situation.

Chargers | Unlikely to use franchise tag

The San Diego Chargers don't really have a player worthy of the franchise tag this year. FS Eric Weddle will be allowed to hit the free-agent market. TE Antonio Gates turns 36 this summer and is near the end of his career. TE Ladarius Green could be coveted on the free-agent market, but he's been injured and is too inconsistent.

Chargers | Tight ends to be issue for Chargers?

Tue, 02 Feb 2016 11:46:30 -0800

San Diego Chargers TEs Antonio Gates, Ladarius Green, David B. Johnson and John Phillips will all become free agents if they are not re-signed by March 9. Gates is expected to return, however.

Fantasy Tip: Re-signing Gates will be a big plus for the Chargers, and he'll remain in TE1 territory if/when he is re-signed. The depth behind him will be a problem if San Diego can't re-sign at least one of Green, Johnson or Phillips.

Chargers | Ladarius Green placed on IR

Mon, 28 Dec 2015 11:49:41 -0800

San Diego Chargers TE Ladarius Green (ankle) was placed on the season-ending Reserve/Injured list Monday, Dec. 28. TE Sean McGrath was subsequently promoted to the active roster.

Fantasy Tip: Antonio Gates won't have to worry about his targets being taken from Green next week. Gates had an off week in Week 16, but he's still in TE1 territory heading into the final week of the regular season.

Chargers | Ladarius Green playing in Week 16

Thu, 24 Dec 2015 16:19:21 -0800

San Diego Chargers TE Ladarius Green (ankle) is officially active for the Week 16 game against the Oakland Raiders.

Fantasy Tip: Green ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) has received targets in the passing game but has two receptions or fewer in each of the last six games. He has posted at least 50 yards in only three games this season and should not be a starting option for owners.

Chargers | Stevie Johnson, Ladarius Green questionable

Wed, 23 Dec 2015 12:37:25 -0800

San Diego Chargers WR Stevie Johnson (groin) and TE Ladarius Green (ankle) are listed as questionable for Week 16 against the Oakland Raiders.

Fantasy Tip: Johnson ($4,700, 9.4% of cap) would give the Chargers some much needed receiving depth if he's able to play tomorrow night. He has missed the last two games, though, so he could be a little rusty. Green ($2,000, 4.0%) has been a non-factor since Antonio Gates returned. Keep an eye on Johnson over the next couple days as he might provide at least a flex spot on FantasyScore, but Green can be avoided altogether.
