Washington Redskins LB Lorenzo Alexander is ready to start in Week 8 against the Pittsburgh Steelers if LB London Fletcher (head, hamstring) is unable to suit up and keep his streak of 231 straight games played alive. Alexander and LB Keenan Robinson took over for Fletcher at the end of the team's Week 7 game. Fletcher is Washington's leading tackler and their play-caller.

The players will be those who played in high school or college in the Fort Worth-Dallas metroplex. Among the candidates are Texas LBs Emmanuel Acho and Keenan Robinson, Texas Christian LB Tank Carder, Texas A&M WR Jeff Fuller, Texas A&M RB Cyrus Gray, Louisiana State CB Ron Brooks, Oklahoma DB Jamell Fleming, Tarleton State QB Nick Stephens, Tulsa QB G.J. Kinne and Central Arkansas QB Nathan Dick.
