Tennessee Titans LB Zach Brown credits former LB coach Frank Bush for his development this year. "I learned a lot from him,'' Brown said of Bush. "He always pushed me to get better, and he helped me out a lot. Without Frank Bush, I don't think I would have had nearly as good a rookie year as I had. Everybody says behind a great player there is a great coach." Bush was relieved of his duties Thursday, Jan. 10, which was a surprise to Brown. "It was a shock to me. I thought we'd keep Frank Bush,'' Brown said. "I thought the linebackers did well. But I guess that's the business. I wish him well, though."

Tennessee Titans LB Akeem Ayers was on the field for just 36 snaps in the Week 8 game against the Indianapolis Colts, while rookie LB Zach Brown was on the field for 56 of his team's 76 defensive snaps. "We felt Zach was ready to take over the nickel 'Will' linebacker spot off the ball," head coach Mike Munchak said. "He's been doing some of that the last two or three weeks." Ayers is being used more as a rush end or defensive end.

North Carolina LB Zach Brown had a strong all-around week of practice at the Senior Bowl, and he showed speed and the ability to chase down plays from sideline to sideline. Brown showed off foot quickness, which makes up for his less-than-ideal size at 6-1, 236 pounds. Brown disrupted several plays in the backfield. As such, he is projected as a first-round pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, perhaps in the Top 20 with a strong showing at the NFL Scouting Combine.
