Rams | Brian Quick expected to play

Sat, 03 Oct 2015 09:18:34 -0700

St. Louis Rams WR Brian Quick is expected to be active for the Week 4 game against the Arizona Cardinals after a solid week of practice.

Fantasy Tip: Quick ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) was a healthy scratch for the first three games of the season but should dress for the game this week. His offensive role is uncertain at this point, so owners may want to see him play before considering him as a fantasy option.

Mon, 28 Sep 2015 15:47:04 -0700

St. Louis Rams WR Brian Quick has a chance to be active for the Week 4 game against the Arizona Cardinals, according to head coach Jeff Fisher.

Fantasy Tip: Quick has not played in any of the first three games this season, so he probably will sit out again unless something changes. Quick should not be a fantasy option for the time being.

Sun, 20 Sep 2015 08:39:38 -0700

St. Louis Rams WR Brian Quick has been declared inactive for the game against the Washington Redskins in Week 2.

Fantasy Tip: Quick ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is a healthy scratch for the second straight game and does not appear to have a role in the offense at this point. Owners should avoid Quick until he receives playing time.

Rams | Brian Quick knew he'd be inactive

Wed, 16 Sep 2015 08:07:15 -0700

Updating previous reports, St. Louis Rams WR Brian Quick (shoulder) knew ahead of time that he would be inactive for Week 1. "We talked about it previously, before the season; I knew what was happening," Quick said. "It's not my call. I want to be out there, but I also want to do what's best for the team. All I can do is continue to work and make sure that I'm ready when they decide to call my number."

Fantasy Tip: There is speculation that Quick was scratched because he's coming off a serious shoulder injury, despite the team calling him a healthy scratch. Either way, Quick ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) isn't a good option on FantasyScore right now.

Rams | Brian Quick was healthy scratch

Mon, 14 Sep 2015 19:41:24 -0700

St. Louis Rams WR Brian Quick was inactive in Week 1 against the Seattle Seahawks, but head coach Jeff Fisher said Monday, Sept. 14, that it was not "physically related." He cited a need for extra players on special teams.

Fantasy Tip: Quick ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) has no value in FantasyScore right now, and he might need an injury or two to gain meaningful snaps.

Rams | Brian Quick inactive for Week 1

Sun, 13 Sep 2015 08:57:55 -0700

St. Louis Rams WR Brian Quick has been declared inactive for the Week 1 game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Fantasy Tip: It is not known if Quick ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) is dealing with an injury, so owners should look for an update in the next day or two. Tavon Austin ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) and Stedman Bailey ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) will have some fantasy value for owners but they are facing a tough Seahawks secondary.

St. Louis Rams WR Brian Quick (shoulder) will play Saturday, Aug. 29, versus the Indianapolis Colts after fully practicing Tuesday, Aug. 25, according to head coach Jeff Fisher.

Fantasy Tip: Quick has been the Rams' most impressive wide receiver this offseason. He and Kenny Britt could make for an underrated receiving duo if they and Nick Foles can stay healthy. For now, consider Quick a speculative WR4 or WR5.

Rams | Brian Quick cleared for contact

Mon, 24 Aug 2015 19:30:04 -0700

St. Louis Rams WR Brian Quick (shoulder) has been cleared to practice with contact this week, and he might even be able to play in the team's next preseason game Saturday, Aug. 29, against the Indianapolis Colts.

Fantasy Tip: Quick is expected to start opposite Kenny Britt, but he needs to show he can stay healthy and finish the preseason strong to warrant anything more than a late-round flier on draft day.

Rams | Brian Quick making progress

Sat, 11 Jul 2015 08:28:28 -0700

St. Louis Rams WR Brian Quick (shoulder) is making good progress in his recovery from shoulder surgery and was able to participate in individual drills during offseason workouts. Quick may be able to participate in team drills at some point during training camp and could be ready for Week 1 if he does not suffer any setbacks.

Fantasy Tip: Quick probably will be eased in during training camp since he did not practice much during the offseason. Quick has a chance to start this season if he is healthy and could be a late-round option in fantasy leagues this season.

Rams | Brian Quick limited in practice

Thu, 04 Jun 2015 15:45:53 -0700

St. Louis Rams WR Brian Quick (shoulder) practiced on a limited basis Thursday, June 4, as he continues to recover from shoulder surgery.

Fantasy Tip: Quick will likely be the other starting receiver on the outside for the Rams once he returns to full health. Kenny Britt figures to be the other outside receiver with Tavon Austin playing in the slot. Quick has been a pretty big disappointment in fantasy football over his three-year career. His best season came last year, in just seven games, when he totaled 25 catches, 375 yards and 3 touchdowns. Quick should only be drafted for wide receiver depth.

Rams | Brian Quick to participate in OTAs?

Tue, 28 Apr 2015 22:43:32 -0700

St. Louis Rams WR Brian Quick (shoulder) is progressing well after shoulder surgery, and head coach Jeff Fisher said Tuesday, April 28, that the receiver could possible participate in organized team activities (OTAs) with some protection.

Fantasy Tip: Quick has big-play ability, but it's uncertain exactly what his fantasy value will be until he is able to prove his health in training camp and the preseason. For now Kenny Britt is the top target in the passing game, but Quick could rapidly emerge as the top option sooner rather than later if healthy.

Rams | Brian Quick progressing

Thu, 26 Mar 2015 15:49:01 -0700

St. Louis Rams WR Brian Quick (shoulder) is making progress in recovering from a torn rotator cuff and separated shoulder he suffered last October. Head coach Jeff Fisher has described Quick's injuries as significant and has not disclosed any timetable in regards to Quick's return. Fisher did say that Quick is coming along after a difficult time during the early stages of rehabilitation.

Fantasy Tip: Quick was supposed to be the Rams' top receiver in 2014. There's no telling how comfortable Quick will be if/when he comes back in 2015, though there's no denying his physical advantages at 6-foot-3, 218 pounds. For now, avoid draft Quick until he's fully cleared. Kenny Britt is the St. Louis receiver to target in drafts.

Rams | Rams to decide on Chris Givens' future

Sun, 08 Feb 2015 17:19:14 -0800

St. Louis Rams WR Chris Givens is scheduled to have a base salary of $1.574 million with a cap count of $1.698 million. The team might deem it too much if Givens is the fifth receiver in a group with WRs Kenny Britt, Brian Quick, Tavon Austin and Stedman Bailey. Releasing Givens would save the team $1.574 million.

Fantasy Tip: Whether he stays or goes Givens is unlikely to be much of an impact player for fantasy owners in 2015.

Rams | Brian Quick beginning rehab

Sat, 27 Dec 2014 14:41:27 -0800

St. Louis Rams WR Brian Quick (shoulder) has begun range-of-motion exercises in his rehab following shoulder surgery. "I'm doing range of motion right now, just trying to get that strength back," Quick said. "I'm using a little weight right now, a three-pound weight, just trying to get that strength back up."

Fantasy Tip: Quick was on his way towards a breakout season before succumbing to injury. He'll be worth a flyer to round out your roster in traditional formats next season.

Rams | Brian Quick done for 2014

Mon, 27 Oct 2014 09:51:46 -0700

St. Louis Rams WR Brian Quick (shoulder) is likely out for the rest of the season with a dislocated shoulder and torn rotator cuff.

Fantasy Tip: It's a big blow to a staggering offense. Kenny Britt, Tavon Austin and Stedman Bailey see a marginal boost, but with OT Jake Long (knee) done for the year, as well, there's not much to like about starting those wideouts each week unless the matchup is ripe. Austin Davis is quickly losing value as a fantasy QB2.

Sun, 26 Oct 2014 11:13:50 -0700

St. Louis Rams WR Brian Quick (arm) was carted off the field after suffering an arm injury in Week 8.

Fantasy Tip: Quick entered Week 8 as the team leader in receiving yards and was tied for the lead in receiving touchdowns. The severity of the injury is not known, so owners will need to monitor the situation.

Rams | Brian Quick finds end zone twice

Sun, 05 Oct 2014 19:01:41 -0700

St. Louis Cardinals WR Brian Quick posted a team-high five receptions with a game-high 87 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 5 game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Fantasy Tip: Quick appears to have ascended to the top of the depth chart, as he has developed quite a nice rapport with Austin Davis. Consider him a decent WR3/4 or flex fantasy option going forward.

Rams | Brian Quick has good game

Mon, 08 Sep 2014 06:36:55 -0700

St. Louis Rams WR Brian Quick had seven catches for 99 yards in Week 1.

Fantasy Tip: He was the most-targeted receiver during the game and is worth waiver-claim consideration. He probably isn't a good flex option on FantasyScore yet due to the team's quarterback consideration.

Rams | Brian Quick stepping up

Tue, 19 Aug 2014 09:37:13 -0700

St. Louis Rams WR Brian Quick is stepping up his game heading into the 2014 season, and earning praise from his coaches. "He knows he's got to pick it up," wide receivers coach Ray Sherman said. "He knows that. And that's the thing with young receivers some guys come along faster than others. We knew this was gonna be a big year for him, and he's really shown that he's ready to accept that challenge."

Fantasy Tip: Even with Quick making plays in preseason games, at this point he should still be considered a late-round pick on draft day.

Rams | Chris Givens falls down depth chart

Sun, 17 Aug 2014 23:31:25 -0700

St. Louis Rams WR Chris Givens has been surpassed on the depth chart by WRs Kenny Britt, Tavon Austin, Stedman Bailey and Brian Quick, and Givens may be a bubble in terms of final roster cuts.

Fantasy Tip: Givens has promise, but there is a logjam at the position. Bailey is suspended the first four games, and Givens has a chance to prove himself again. Givens is a final-round flier as a WR5 or WR6.

Rams | Brian Quick shines in practice

Tue, 29 Jul 2014 19:25:16 -0700

St. Louis Rams WR Brian Quick hooked up with QB Sam Bradford on a couple of deeps balls in team drills Tuesday, July 29, and has enjoyed a strong camp overall, according to ESPN.com's Nick Wagoner.

Fantasy Tip: Quick has yet to live up to his draft position, but it looks like he could be developing into Bradford's go-to target. He is at least worth a late-round flier in fantasy drafts.

Rams | Brian Quick praised by offensive coordinator

Mon, 23 Jun 2014 15:30:35 -0700

St. Louis Rams WR Brian Quick is the team's most improved player, according to offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer. Schottenheimer said Quick is competing for playing time and is the most of his opportunities.

Fantasy Tip: The Rams wide receiving corps has marginal value behind Tavon Austin. Kenny Britt, Brian Quick and Chris Givens will all compete for playing time and targets. Until their individual roles are settled all three remain late-round targets on draft day.

Rams | Happy with current WRs

Wed, 11 Jun 2014 09:53:56 -0700

The St. Louis Rams did not select a wide receiver with any of their 12 selections in this year's draft, and head coach Jeff Fisher said they are happy and confident with the group of young receivers they have on their roster. St. Louis ranked 29th in the league in receiving yards last year, 26th in yards per catch and were tied for 20th in receiving touchdowns. WR Tavon Austin came on strong late in his rookie year, and WRs Chris Givens and Brian Quick are expected to do more in their third seasons with QB Sam Bradford coming off an injury. WR Stedman Bailey will miss the first four games of the season due to a suspension, but the team also took a chance on WR Kenny Britt.

Fantasy Tip: Austin should be primed to take the next step in his sophomore season. One of the big reasons why the Rams' offense sputtered so much over the course of the season was because Bradford wasn't around. With a healthy Bradford, all of St. Louis' aerial weapons should benefit.

Rams | Like Sammy Watkins

Fri, 28 Mar 2014 06:01:32 -0700

St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher praised Clemson WR Sammy Watkins' talent, but he also said he likes what the team has at receiver. "I think with what we have on the roster right now, we can provide (quarterback) Sam (Bradford) with the talent to where we can win a lot of games," Fisher said. "We're expecting improvement. We're still seeing improvement from (receivers), for example, Brian Quick, Chris Givens who are going into their third year."

Rams | Might only keep five WRs

Tue, 27 Aug 2013 09:00:40 -0700

The St. Louis Rams might only keep five wide receivers to start the regular season due to injuries at the tight end position. WRs Tavon Austin, Stedman Bailey, Chris Givens, Austin Pettis and Brian Quick are considered the "big five." WRs Emory Blake, Nick Johnson and Justin Veltung are believed to be battling for the sixth receiver job.

Fantasy Tip: Even if Blake, Johnson or Veltung were to find their way onto the roster, they're a long way from having any fantasy appeal.

Rams | Chris Givens, Austin Pettis atop early depth chart

Tue, 16 Jul 2013 20:03:30 -0700

St. Louis Rams WRs Chris Givens and Austin Pettis are each listed as projected starters on the team's initial depth chart heading into training camp. WRs Tavon Austin, Stedman Bailey and Brian Quick are listed as 'key contributors'.

Fantasy Tip: There is still plenty to be hashed out during training camp and the preseason, but Givens is the best of the lot in terms of fantasy appeal due to his big-play ability.

Rams | Brian Quick tumbling down depth chart?

Sun, 16 Jun 2013 20:44:04 -0700

St. Louis Rams WR Brian Quick reportedly had a disappointing spring, and he tumbled down the unofficial depth chart, working as the No. 4 receiver as organized team activities (OTAs) and minicamp ended. However, it is believed the rookie Tavon Austin, Chris Givens and Austin Pettis just had better practices, as offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer had good words for Quick. "(Quick's) doing a lot better. He's stepped up this year. He's just much more comfortable," Schottenheimer said.

Fantasy Tip: As such, unless Quick can work his way back into a starting role, or injuries strike others at the position, he is only worth a look in deeper fantasy leagues.

Rams | New-look offense developing

Wed, 12 Jun 2013 14:56:56 -0700

St. Louis Rams QB Sam Bradford is working with the same offensive coordinator in consecutive seasons for the first time in his career, but plenty has changed about the team's offense. With RB Steven Jackson gone, offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer will now run the O through Bradford while trying to bust more big plays. "The speed that we have acquired and what we have on the outside now -- and even the inside -- it suits us more to spread it out and play more one-back this year," Bradford said. He also thinks defenses will have to design specific coverages for some of the speed weapons, a reversal from St. Louis' more predictable offense last season.

Rookie WR Tavon Austin is lining up in the slot, on the outside and in the backfield. Schottenheimer said Austin Pettis has had the strongest offseason of any Rams wideout. TE Jared Cook and WR Brian Quick deepen the amount of players that St. Louis hopes bolsters their red-zone potency.

Fantasy Tip: This Rams offense boasts a lot of intrigue that'll come at cheap prices in fantasy drafts. Bradford's risk has a bit more of an attractive potential behind it as a fantasy backup. Austin may become overvalued eventually but would pass as a WR4 on draft day, along with Chris Givens, their biggest breakthrough player last year. Cook might be a borderline TE1 for most of the year, if not better. Pettis and Quick might be sneaky late-rounders or free-agent bids. You can't write off this offense anymore, at least not for the cost of its pieces.

Fri, 22 Mar 2013 19:03:44 -0700

The St. Louis Rams plan to lean on WR Austin Pettis and Brian Quick more in 2013 with WRs Danny Amendola (Patriots) and Brandon Gibson (Dolphins) leaving via free agency.

Fantasy Tip: Pettis and Quick might be decent late-round fantasy additions on Draft Day, but right now they should be considered as nothing more than WR4 or 5 with some upside.

Rams | Trio of WRs could be moving up

Sun, 17 Feb 2013 17:49:14 -0800

If impending free-agent WRs Danny Amendola (Rams) and Brandon Gibson (Rams) are not brought back, that would leave St. Louis Rams WRs Chris Givens, Austin Pettis and Brian Quick as the only wideouts under contract with the team in 2013. However, head coach Jeff Fisher doesn't sound concerned either way, noting the team could look for help outside the organization. "Not a concern whatsoever," Fisher said. "There's options out there. The free-agent market, there's options out there, and it's a great draft for a receiver this year."

NFL | Aaron Dobson may see draft stock rise

Thu, 24 Jan 2013 12:01:33 -0800

Marshall WR Aaron Dobson may see his draft stock rise after a good week at the Senior Bowl. "I think I've done pretty well," said Dobson in reference to his practice performance at the Senior Bowl in Mobile this week. "I think everybody is seeing what kind of receiver I am. I'm showcasing myself in front of a lot of talent out there. There's a lot of talent. I'm just trying to let everybody know that I deserve to be here and I can play." ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper thinks Dobson's stock is poised to rise. "He's a kid that could be a lot like Brian Quick was last year from Appalachian State," said Kiper. "Dobson is going to have a big Senior Bowl. He has size and didn't have a quarterback that could get him the ball on a consistent basis. He's very athletic. When he's had the opportunity to go up and make a play he's made it. He could be in the late first round discussion or certainly in the early to mid-second round discussion as a guy that nobody is talking about that could emerge."

Rams | Brian Quick's role to expand

Fri, 16 Nov 2012 13:18:59 -0800

St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher said the team will look to get WR Brian Quick more involved down the stretch. Quick has been limited to a handful of plays at wide receiver each week, but he's becoming more comfortable in a special teams role as the season progresses. Quick saw more action with WR Chris Givens disciplined last week, and he's learning to react more in his routes instead of thinking his way through them. Quick's touchdown play last week has given him the needed confidence moving forward.

Tue, 28 Aug 2012 19:14:17 -0700

St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher wants to get WRs Chris Givens and Brian Quick time with the first-team offense in the preseason finale, although he also admitted WR Steve E. Smith hasn't had much chance to work with QB Sam Bradford either. "Yes, there's a chance I'll move them up. I'd like to see Givens and Quick in there, but they're all young receivers," Fisher said. "You take, for example, Steve Smith's case. He hasn't really had an opportunity to work with Sam. We'll play as many as we can earlier in the game and with the numbers down, they'll be playing throughout the game."
