Philadelphia Eagles QB Nick Foles recently said his goals for this season include continuing to move better in the pocket, to be more efficient and to stay tight. He added that he wants to be smart with the ball and find his checkdowns early. Foles admitted improvement is "an everyday thing, but so far, we're looking good."
Fantasy Tip: Despite losing DeSean Jackson, the Eagles should still be one of the most prolific offenses in the league under head coach Chip Kelly. Foles averaged 22.5 fantasy points per game last season, which would have put him in QB5-QB6 territory for a full 16 game season. Consider him a QB1 in the Eagles' potent offense.
Thu, 03 Jul 2014 12:21:26 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy praised QB Nick Foles, saying this is the year Foles has a great season. "Nick, he wants to play, he wants to get better," McCoy said. "He's playing lights-out even in camp, but he still wants to be at a higher level. He's at that peak where people know him like, 'Man, this Foles, is he that good?' Because you see the stats, you see the numbers. I think this is the year he blows 'em out like, 'Yeah, I'm Nick Foles. I'm Philadelphia's quarterback. I'm the guy.' And this is the year he blows it away."
Fantasy Tip: Foles surprised everyone and had a fantastic season in 2013, but losing his best wide receiver in DeSean Jackson may be a lot to overcome in 2014. Temper your expectations with Foles.
Thu, 03 Jul 2014 08:34:29 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles QB Nick Foles led all of quarterbacks last year with 9.1 yards per attempt in the team's quick offense, and he also led the league with a passer rating of 119.2. Foles had a touchdown-to-interception ratio of 27:2.
Fantasy Tip: Foles burst onto the scene unexpectedly and had a magical season in 2013, and Chip Kelly's up-tempo offense meshed perfectly with Foles' strong arm. Unfortunately, he'll lose his most trusted target in DeSean Jackson. Expecting a repeat might be asking a lot. Foles will have some great games, but we're hesitant to stamp him as an elite QB1 this quickly.
Fri, 20 Jun 2014 14:09:14 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles QB Nick Foles has impressed new quarterbacks coach Bill Musgrave with his ability to process everything that is happening on the field quickly. "We know he's a gifted athlete. He can throw the ball exactly where he wants to. He can add air, add touch. He can add velocity and really drive it when it's needed. But to see the way that he can visualize formations, coverages, and process what he sees has been impressive," Musgrave said. Musgrave thinks Foles can work on getting rid of the ball faster, taking fewer hits and moving the ball forward with his legs when needed.
Fantasy Tip: Foles was impressive in Chip Kelly's up-tempo offense last year, but the loss of DeSean Jackson is troubling. Temper your expectations a bit for Foles in his follow-up campaign. Trusting him as a true QB1 is risky.
Tue, 10 Jun 2014 09:00:02 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles QB Nick Foles said he's not worried about signing a contract extension with the team. According to the collective bargaining agreement, he isn't even eligible to sign an extension from his rookie year contract until after the 2014 season. "I've always said how I play, how our team is, how I am as a leader -- that will all take care of that when the time comes," Foles said. "I'm really just having fun out here. I'm having fun with my teammates. I'm having fun playing the game."
Fri, 30 May 2014 06:33:55 -0700
The Philadelphia Eagles' organized team activities have displayed their intent to move a lot faster and increase the amount of plays run, in the observation of Nick Fierro. They were quick in moving to the line of scrimmage even before the whistle blew. "We're just running as many reps as we can so we can get it on tape and teach them," head coach Chip Kelly said. "... What we're trying to do is, can we get a maximum number of reps for everybody, because we do have three and four groups, both offensively and defensively? Let's just get a lot of stuff on tape so we can teach off it."
Fantasy Tip: Of course, such an overwhelming pace allowed the offense to dominate last year before they fell apart, for numerous reasons. Of course LeSean McCoy should have another elite year, but the other fantasy-relevant members of this offense in their second year with this system -- Nick Foles, Jeremy Maclin (despite his injury), Riley Cooper, Zach Ertz -- could be in line for huge steps forward with this continuity.

Philadelphia Eagles QB Nick Foles said he needs to get better and he has a lot to work on. "I know everybody wants to label this, after a good season, but I need to get better," said Foles. "I don't look at this season as, 'Aw, man I did good!' I have a lot of stuff to work on . . . We didn't win the last game, and a lot of that goes on the quarterback . . . I'm going to keep working on my footwork. I'm going to keep working on my throwing mechanics, continue on reading defenses, every little thing I can think of."

Philadelphia Eagles QB Nick Foles said he has worked on some mechanical adjustments. "Keep a good base (when on the move.) Keep your left shoulder down and drive the football," Foles said. "Sometimes when there's some pressure in your face, I'll throw off my back foot, my shoulder will rise a little bit, and the ball will sail. I know in that situation, I'll have to sidestep or do something where I can drive the ball downward to where my receiver gets the opportunity to catch the ball."

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly said QB Nick Foles will be his quarterback moving forward beyond 2013 and into next year if he stays healthy.
Tue, 26 Nov 2013 08:47:00 -0800
Philadelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick (hamstring) will practice in full Tuesday, Nov. 26. Head coach Chip Kelly said he will back up QB Nick Foles in Week 13. Kelly said Foles doesn't need to look over his shoulder and should have a "desire to excel, not fear of failure."
Fantasy Tip: Not a big surprise here. Vick isn't worth owning right now, and Foles remains a low-end No. 1 fantasy QB.
Fri, 22 Nov 2013 06:49:03 -0800
Philadelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick (hamstring) said QB Nick Foles should remain the starting quarterback. "In all honesty, in all fairness, how can you take a guy out of the game who's been playing so well?" Vick said.
Tue, 19 Nov 2013 11:46:13 -0800
Philadelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick (hamstring) said he expects to be fully healthy following the team's Week 12 bye. He was limited in practice Tuesday, Nov. 19.
Fantasy Tip: Vick isn't guaranteed to get the starting QB job back if he's healthy, however, based on the way Nick Foles has played in his absence. Leave Vick on your bench or send him to the waiver wire if you need an extra spot.
Sun, 17 Nov 2013 16:27:32 -0800
Philadelphia Eagles QB Nick Foles threw for 298 yards in Week 11 against the Washington Redskins, and he added a career-high 47 yards and one rushing score. He has started just 11 games in his career and has already exceeded a passer rating of 100 five times, each in the last six games. He has a 152.8 passer rating during his team's three-game winning streak. Since 1960, only former Dallas Cowboys QB Craig Morton had a better streak during a three-game span in 1969. Foles also has thrown 199 passes without an interception, and that is the second-longest streak in franchise history behind QB Michael Vick (224).
Mon, 11 Nov 2013 12:54:59 -0800
Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly said he won't name a starting quarterback as long as QB Michael Vick (hamstring) remains sidelined due to injury. QB Nick Foles has started in his absence and will continue to take first-team repetitions in practice Tuesday, Nov. 12. "I think what we've done for the last two weeks has worked for us pretty good," Kelly said. "So we're going to stick to that. It's gotten us 16 touchdowns, no interceptions and two wins, so why would we change?" Foles has 10 touchdown passes in the last two weeks. Kelly plans to take the quarterback situation day-by-day with Vick improving.
Fantasy Tip: Foles has definitely played well enough to be considered for the starting gig even when Vick is healthy enough to return, but it'll be up to Kelly when that time comes. For now, consider Foles a good bye-week filler or midrange No. 1 QB with the right matchup.
Mon, 11 Nov 2013 06:28:33 -0800
Philadelphia Eagles WR Riley Cooper has 15 receptions for 393 yards and six touchdowns with QB Nick Foles in the game. He only has eight catches for 93 yards and a touchdown with QB Michael Vick.
Thu, 07 Nov 2013 08:45:23 -0800

Wed, 06 Nov 2013 09:25:21 -0800
Philadelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick (hamstring) was limited in practice Tuesday, Nov. 5, and QB Nick Foles took the starting repetitions at quarterback.
Fantasy Tip: Vick has already been ruled out for Week 10, so this is rightfully Foles' job for at least another week. If Foles continues to move the offense effectively, Vick may not have a job to come back to when he's ready to return to action. This is a fluid situation, however.
Mon, 04 Nov 2013 16:26:28 -0800
Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly said Monday, Nov. 4, that QB Nick Foles is the starter for now. Foles will take the first-team reps in practice Tuesday, Nov. 5. Mon, 04 Nov 2013 11:17:15 -0800
Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly said QB Nick Foles is the starting quarterback for now, but he declined to name him the team's long-term starter with QB Michael Vick (hamstring) still injured. Kelly refuses to place a timetable on Vick's return to action. Kelly said Vick is still sore and won't practice Tuesday, Nov. 5.
Fantasy Tip: Vick is a slow healer, and with Foles performing the way he did in Week 9, the Eagles are probably not in a rush to bring him back as the starter. Foles is a nice bye week filler at the QB position and should be a popular waiver wire addition for those that are hurting at the position this week.

Thu, 31 Oct 2013 12:28:18 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles QB Nick Foles (concussion) practiced in full Thursday, Oct. 31.
Fantasy Tip: Foles looks to be completely over his concussion symptoms and good to go against the Oakland Raiders. Foles is a borderline starter this week if you're looking for a bye week replacement in deeper leagues.

Philadelphia Eagles LB Jake Knott (hamstring) did not practice Thursday, Oct. 31. Wed, 30 Oct 2013 09:22:21 -0700
The Philadelphia Eagles have named QB Nick Foles (concussion) as the starting quarterback in Week 9 against the Oakland Raiders. QB Matt Barkley will serve as the backup. QB Michael Vick (hamstring) will not practice this week and won't be available Sunday, Nov. 3. "One of the good things about practicing on Tuesday is you can get your eyes on people who have been out. Nick did a really good job and Nick will be our starting quarterback this week," head coach Chip Kelly said. Kelly also said he'll make a determination on the quarterback position on a weekly basis moving forward.
Fantasy Tip: Foles makes for a low-end QB1 this weekend mainly as a bye week filler or if you own Vick. The QB situation in Philly will likely come down to who is the healthiest over the next few weeks. Foles should see at least a few more starts with Vick out.
Tue, 29 Oct 2013 10:23:12 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles QB Nick Foles (concussion) declared himself ready for the team's Week 9 game. "I am ready to play," Foles said. "It was a long week last week. The most important thing is to be healthy."
Fantasy Tip: Lets see how this one plays out through the rest of the week, but this is a good sign for Foles to possibly return to the field in Week 9.
Tue, 29 Oct 2013 09:42:33 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick (hamstring) was on the field with his helmet Tuesday, Oct. 29, but he's not expected to play in Week 9 against the Oakland Raiders. Vick's hamstring injury isn't believed to be as serious as his original strain, according to league sources. He'll be evaluated on a weekly basis.
Fantasy Tip: Vick will not play this weekend and may not be back for several weeks after that. Nick Foles (concussion) looks like he has a solid chance to return to the starting job against the Raiders after he practiced Tuesday. Foles is a decent bye week filler.

Mon, 28 Oct 2013 10:58:04 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly said he doesn't expect QB Michael Vick (hamstring) to start in Week 9 after aggravating his hamstring injury in Week 8. The team will need to see where QB Nick Foles (concussion) is at before deciding if he'll start over QB Matt Barkley.
Fantasy Tip: Vick will probably be out at least multiple weeks after he heard his hamstring pop. Foles, if he can play, would be worth consideration for a starting spot as a bye week filler, but Barkley, who has looked awful, should be ignored.
Mon, 28 Oct 2013 10:08:51 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly said QB Nick Foles (concussion) was undergoing the ImPACT test Monday, Oct. 28, but did not have the results of the test.
Sun, 27 Oct 2013 20:33:10 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles QB Nick Foles (concussion) has not yet been cleared to practice, and it appears his concussion might linger.

Sun, 27 Oct 2013 15:00:29 -0700
Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly did not provide any updates on QB Nick Foles (concussion), but was asked if QB Matt Barkley could start in Week 9 if QB Michael Vick (hamstring) is not ready. "It could look that way," Kelly said.
Fantasy Tip: If Barkley does indeed draw the start, he is not worth using in any fantasy leagues. He has been terrible when on the field, and you would have to have multiple quarterbacks on byes and no other options available to be desperate enough to start him.
Sun, 27 Oct 2013 08:40:54 -0700
The Philadelphia Eagles have declared DL Damion Square, OT Dennis Kelly, LB Jake Knott, OG Matt Tobin, RB Matthew Tucker, QB Nick Foles, SS Patrick Chung inactive for Week 8.

Wed, 23 Oct 2013 11:42:07 -0700

Fantasy Tip: Foles is highly unlikely to be active this week, and with Michael Vick (hamstring) returning, he'll be resigned to a backup role anyway.
Tue, 22 Oct 2013 10:05:46 -0700
Updating a previous report, Philadelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick (hamstring) was taking first-team repetitions in practice Tuesday, Oct. 22, and he's expected to start in Week 8 against the New York Giants. Head coach Chip Kelly said he'll make his decision on the starting quarterback based on health. He also said QB Nick Foles (concussion) status won't affect Vick's. Foles did not practice Tuesday.
