Eagles | Nick Foles of interest to Eagles?

Mon, 08 Feb 2016 13:16:27 -0800

Los Angeles Rams QB Nick Foles is expected to be inquired about rejoining the Philadelphia Eagles.

Fantasy Tip: Sam Bradford will not receive the Eagles' franchise tag, so Philadelphia could very well be planning to move on from Bradford after one year. Bringing back Foles seems puzzling, though, as he didn't really work out in his first stint with the Eagles and did nothing productive with the Rams either. Neither Bradford nor Foles should be viewed as a starting fantasy quarterback right now.

Eagles | Philly not pursuing Nick Foles?

Sun, 07 Feb 2016 17:12:35 -0800

Los Angeles Rams QB Nick Foles has no chance of being reacquired by the Philadelphia Eagles, according to a league source.

Fantasy Tip: Reports previously said that new head coach Doug Pederson was interested in bringing back Foles, but for now, it remains unclear who will be under center for the Eagles in 2016.

Eagles | Philly interested in Nick Foles?

Sun, 07 Feb 2016 10:23:12 -0800

Los Angeles Rams QB Nick Foles could be an option for the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason because head coach Doug Pederson drafted them when they were both with Philadelphia and is interested in Foles, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Foles finished the season as a backup after being the starting quarterback back for most of the season. Foles did not have a lot of success when he did play in 2015 and probably would not be more than a backup option in most fantasy leagues if he won a starting job.

Rams | Case Keenum enters offseason as starter

Mon, 04 Jan 2016 17:30:37 -0800

St. Louis Rams QB Case Keenum enters the offseason as the starting quarterback, head coach Jeff Fisher said Monday, Jan. 4. He said QB Nick Foles will get a chance to compete, and the team will also evaluate outside options.

Fantasy Tip: Keenum and Foles were each unimpressive in their stints as the starting signal caller, and it wouldn't be surprising to see the Rams look outside of the organization or to the draft for an immediate upgrade.

Rams | Nick Foles has awful outing

Sun, 06 Dec 2015 17:46:09 -0800

St. Louis Rams QB Nick Foles completed just 15 of his 35 pass attempts for 146 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in the Week 13 game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Fantasy Tip: Foles will be back to the bench in Week 14 against the Detroit Lions, so avoid him in all fantasy formats.

Rams | Case Keenum to serve as backup Sunday

Sun, 06 Dec 2015 09:10:49 -0800

St. Louis Rams QB Case Keenum (concussion) is serving as the backup to QB Nick Foles for Week 13's game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Fantasy Tip: Keenum ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) was limited in practice this week and had been listed as questionable on the team's most recent injury report. Don't be surprised if he regains the starting quarterback job next week if Foles ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) has another poor performance today.

Rams | Nick Foles to start in Week 13

Thu, 03 Dec 2015 16:51:23 -0800

St. Louis Rams QB Nick Foles will start in Week 13 against the Arizona Cardinals, according to head coach Jeff Fisher. Fisher also said QB Case Keenum (concussion) will serve as Foles' backup if he clears the league's concussion protocol. Even though Foles will start this week, Fisher said Keenum remains the starting quarterback.

Fantasy Tip: The quarterback situation is a mess in St. Louis regardless of the injury to Keenum ($4,600, 9.2% of cap). Foles ($4,600) faces one of the better defenses in the league this weekend. He's definitely not playable on FantasyScore.

Rams | Nick Foles ineffective in return

Sun, 29 Nov 2015 15:14:33 -0800

St. Louis Rams QB Nick Foles struggled in his return to the lineup, as he was 30 of 46 for 228 yards along with three interceptions in a 31-7 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Fantasy Tip: Foles ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) had 16 incomplete passes to go with those picks, and no doubt that was a part of the Bengals' strong defense. Foles is a better play against a much weaker defense, but there are much better options out there.

Rams | Nick Foles to start versus CIN

Sun, 29 Nov 2015 09:15:24 -0800

Confirming previous reports, St. Louis Rams QB Nick Foles will start against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 12, with QB Case Keenum (concussion) still recovering from a concussion.

Fantasy Tip: Foles ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) began the year as the team's No. 1 quarterback but was benched in favor of Keenum for Week 11's game against the Ravens, only to regain the starting job due to injury. Foles has a 75.9 quarterback rating this season, making him 29th out of 31 NFL quarterbacks who qualify, and does not have a favorable matchup this week against one of the league's better pass defenses. He should be avoided in FantasyScore despite the low price.

Rams | Nick Foles should start

Sat, 28 Nov 2015 11:41:28 -0800

St. Louis Rams QB Nick Foles is expected to start in Week 12 against the Cincinnati Bengals with QB Case Keenum (concussion) still recovering from a concussion, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: The Bengals have a pretty tough pass defense, and Foles ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) has played subpar this year. He's not worth starting in Week 12.

Rams | Nick Foles prepared to start

Fri, 27 Nov 2015 15:14:58 -0800

St. Louis Rams QB Nick Foles is prepared to start in Week 12 against the Cincinnati Bengals with QB Case Keenum (concussion) still in the concussion protocol, according to head coach Jeff Fisher. However, the Rams will see how Keenum is feeling Sunday, Nov. 29.

Fantasy Tip: Keenum ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) seems unlikely to suit up this weekend. Foles ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) has looked ugly under center for St. Louis this year and can't be expected to produce much against a strong Bengals defense. Stay away from both quarterbacks in all formats.

Rams | Nick Foles has guarantees remaining

Tue, 17 Nov 2015 07:12:46 -0800

St. Louis Rams QB Nick Foles, who was recently benched, has $7.75 million guaranteed remaining on his deal. His 2016 roster bonus of $6 million became guaranteed Aug. 15.

Fantasy Tip: Foles can be dropped in traditional leagues. Case Keenum ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) has a decent draw against the Baltimore Ravens, but he doesn't fit the bill for a FantasyScore flyer.

Rams | Nick Foles does nothing again

Sun, 15 Nov 2015 18:53:08 -0800

St. Louis Rams QB Nick Foles completed 17 of his 36 pass attempts for 200 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in the Week 10 game against the Chicago Bears.

Fantasy Tip: Foles has a new toy in Wes Welker, but Foles was limited to just short and intermediate routes with very little open down the field. His first season has been a challenge in St. Louis, and he isn't worth using most weeks in FantasyScore.

Rams | Nick Foles tosses four picks

Sun, 11 Oct 2015 16:22:52 -0700

St. Louis Rams QB Nick Foles completed 11 of 30 passes for 141 yards, one touchdown and four interceptions in a 24-10 loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 5.

Fantasy Tip: Foles ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) hasn't topped 200 yards in the four games since the opener, and he has five touchdowns and five interceptions over the same stretch. Throw in the fact that it looks like the St. Louis offense is going to run through Todd Gurley ($7,000, 14.0% of cap) going forward, and Foles won't have much value at FantasyScore most weeks.

Rams | Nick Foles impresses in Week 4

Mon, 05 Oct 2015 14:40:25 -0700

St. Louis Rams QB Nick Foles threw three touchdowns to help defeat the Arizona Cardinals in Week 4.

Fantasy Tip: Foles did only throw for 171 yards, but in addition to the three scores, he did not turn the ball over. It was his most efficient outing of the year. That being said, he's still not a reliable starting option in seasonal leagues, although he can be a nice value play from time to time on FantasyScore.

Rams | Nick Foles disappoints in loss

Sun, 27 Sep 2015 16:39:28 -0700

St. Louis Rams QB Nick Foles completed 19 of his 28 pass attempts for 197 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in the Week 3 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He also ran once for 10 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Foles ($5,700, 11.4% of cap) was a huge disappointment for FantasyScore players who expected more against a Steelers pass defense which entered allowing six TDs through the air, most in the NFL.

Rams | Road woes for Nick Foles?

Thu, 17 Sep 2015 18:51:53 -0700

St. Louis Rams QB Nick Foles faces the Washington Redskins on the road in Week 2, and he has thrown four touchdowns and four interceptions in his last four road games and no touchdowns and two interceptions in his only career road start against Washington.

Fantasy Tip: Foles ($5,700, 11.4% of cap) delivered a solid performance in Week 1 at home against Seattle, but it might not be a bad idea to wait and see how his first road start with the Rams goes before using him at FantasyScore.

Rams | Nick Foles comfortable in St. Louis

Wed, 12 Aug 2015 12:53:58 -0700

St. Louis Rams QB Nick Foles is comfortable with his new team in part because they are running a west coast offense, which he has used in the past. He is showing good chemistry with his new teammates.

Fantasy Tip: Foles appears to be doing well with his new team and will have some weapons to work with on offense, but owners should see how he performs during the preseason. Owners could consider Foles as a No. 2 quarterback in deeper leagues.

Rams | Nick Foles contract update

Wed, 12 Aug 2015 12:53:19 -0700

Updating a previous report, St. Louis Rams QB Nick Foles is scheduled to make $6 million in 2015 and $7.75 million in 2016, which is fully guaranteed. Foles can void the 2017 part of his contract if he and the team hit certain incentives. He is scheduled to make $10.75 million in 2017 with a $1.5 million signing bonus but none if it is guaranteed. He could also make an additional $4.5 million per season if he reaches certain incentives.

Rams | Nick Foles signs extension

Fri, 07 Aug 2015 17:13:13 -0700

St. Louis Rams QB Nick Foles signed a two-year extension with the team Friday, Aug. 7. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Fantasy Tip: Foles should be the team's starting quarterback for the next few seasons. He was limited to eight games in 2014 when he threw 13 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Foles will have some weapons to work with and could be a No. 2 quarterback in most fantasy leagues.

Rams | Nick Foles could be extended

Thu, 09 Jul 2015 18:23:25 -0700

St. Louis Rams QB Nick Foles could receive a contract extension that would likely be in the range of a four-year deal with average of somewhere between $12 million and $14 million per season with about $20 million in guarantees.

Fantasy Tip: It remains to be seen how Foles performs outside of Chip Kelly's high-powered offense, but at the very least, he should be a solid QB2 in 2015.

Rams | Nick Foles instilling confidence

Wed, 01 Jul 2015 17:09:32 -0700

St. Louis Rams QB Nick Foles' command of the huddle is something that has been missing from the quarterback position in recent years, according to TE Jared Cook. "Hopefully, he can make all of us better," Cook said. "This is something we've needed the past few years -- somebody to fill the mold, step in, grab the ram by the horns and say, 'Let's go, guys! This is our time!'"

Fantasy Tip: The Rams figure to be a run-first team in 2015, but Foles should still make a solid QB2 in seasonal leagues and a useful weekly play against friendlier matchups.

Rams | STL looks to lock up Nick Foles

Mon, 15 Jun 2015 21:22:09 -0700

The St. Louis Rams are looking to lock up QB Nick Foles to a long-term contract. The two sides have had initial talks, and they're expected to ramp up leading up to the season.

Fantasy Tip: The Rams plan to pound the ball frequently, but there will still be plenty of room for Foles to post big numbers in the offense, too. FantasyScore owners will want to pick and choose their spots to use Foles against the strong NFC West.

Rams | Nick Foles praised by teammates

Fri, 05 Jun 2015 21:09:02 -0700

St. Louis Rams QB Nick Foles was praised by WR Kenny Britt and TE Jared Cook for his performance during OTAs. "We love him," Britt said Thursday, June 4. "Great deep ball, he puts it on the money every time. He can throw every pass in the book."

Fantasy Tip: The Rams' offense will likely center on the power running game, but Foles should still be a useful option at FantasyScore when facing friendlier matchups in 2015.

Rams | St. Louis intends to draft a QB

Fri, 27 Mar 2015 10:14:28 -0700

St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher said it's the team's intention to draft a quarterback in this year's draft, despite trading for QB Nick Foles in the offseason. Florida State QB Jameis Winston and Oregon QB Marcus Mariota are expected to be off the board when the Rams pick with the 10th overall pick in the first round, but the Rams could also trade up to take one of them. The Rams could also look at the second tier of quarterbacks in this class, which includes Baylor QB Bryce Petty, California-Los Angeles QB Brett Hundley, Oregon QB Sean Mannion and Colorado State QB Garrett Grayson. Petty indicated that he has a visit planned with St. Louis. Rams QBs Austin Davis and Case Keenum will compete for the backup job, and the loser might be on the street if the Rams draft another quarterback.

Fantasy Tip: Foles upgrades the Rams offense, but unless St. Louis adds some more playmakers around him, he won't be anything more than a boring QB2 for fantasy purposes. It's highly unlikely that the quarterback the Rams draft takes over the starting job from Foles in 2015.

Rams | Nick Foles didn't see trade coming

Fri, 20 Mar 2015 08:33:03 -0700

St. Louis Rams QB Nick Foles said he didn't know the Philadelphia Eagles were looking to trade him, despite rumors swirling about their intentions, and the first time he learned about the move was the moment Eagles head coach Chip Kelly called him to say Foles had been dealt to the Rams.

Fantasy Tip: Foles seemingly needed a fresh start away from Kelly, whether he'll admit it or not. Fantasy owners will be happy, sort of, since the young quarterback has more job security. To the contrary, he also has fewer weapons than he was accustom to in Philly. Consider Foles a No. 2 quarterback with weekly starting consideration based on the matchups. He and his situation are ideal fits for DFS players at FantasyScore.

Eagles | Sam Bradford obtained officially

Tue, 10 Mar 2015 15:56:04 -0700

St. Louis Rams QB Sam Bradford has officially been traded to the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles also receive a 2015 fifth-round draft pick and surrender QB Nick Foles and a 2015 sixth-round draft pick and a 2016 second-round draft pick. However, the 2016 second-round pick will go back to Philadelphia if Bradford does not start.

Fantasy Tip: The Eagles have lost RB LeSean McCoy and WR Jeremy Maclin already this offseason, so Bradford doesn't have as much to work with as he would have. Still, he seems to be going to a better offense and the Eagles could still make some offensive acquisitions. That being said, Bradford should still not be considered a starting fantasy quarterback, especially with his injury history.

Rams | Nick Foles officially acquired by STL

Tue, 10 Mar 2015 15:52:28 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles QB Nick Foles has officially been acquired by the St. Louis Rams. The Rams also receive a 2015 sixth-round draft pick and a 2016 second-round draft pick.

Fantasy Tip: Foles doesn't have as much to work with in St. Louis as he did in Philadelphia, though pieces could still be added to the offense. For now, his fantasy value seems to have dipped a bit, though he should still remain in the starting fantasy quarterback conversation if he can stay healthy.

Rams | Nick Foles expected to join Rams

Tue, 10 Mar 2015 13:07:19 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles QB Nick Foles is close to being acquired by the St. Louis Rams in exchange for QB Sam Bradford, according to sources. The Rams will also receive draft-pick compensation.

Fantasy Tip: Foles likely will be the leading candidates for the starting job entering training camp. Foles does not have a ton of weapons to work with in St. Louis, so owners should see him as a No. 2 fantasy quarterback at this point.

Eagles | Philly rejected trade for Josh Gordon

Mon, 16 Feb 2015 15:27:42 -0800

Cleveland Browns WR Josh Gordon was offered to the Philadelphia Eagles at the start of the 2013 season, but the Eagles did not want to trade QB Nick Foles for Gordon, according to a source. The Eagles were concerned about Gordon's two-game suspension, while the Browns wanted Foles to be their starting quarterback.

Fantasy Tip: Gordon struggled in the five games he played in this past season after he served his suspension and is in danger of missing the entire 2015 season since he tested positive for alcohol. Owners should monitor Gordon's status during the offseason but should not count on him as a top fantasy receiver. Foles likely will have to compete for the starting job during training camp and should not be seen as a No. 1 fantasy quarterback even if he wins the job.

Eagles | Teammate endorses Nick Foles

Sat, 17 Jan 2015 19:45:35 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles QB Nick Foles is the leader of the team and is capable of leading the team to the playoffs, RB LeSean McCoy said Friday, Jan. 16.

Fantasy Tip: Injuries eventually derailed Foles's season, but his numbers had regressed already declined from the previous year. Still, any quarterback playing in Chip Kelly's offense will likely produce worthwhile fantasy numbers.

Eagles | Nick Foles expects to be starter

Mon, 29 Dec 2014 09:49:28 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles QB Nick Foles expects to return as the starting quarterback next season. "I expect to be back here," Foles said. "I expect to be the quarterback. I love my teammates and I expect to be back out there leading them and winning some games. I'm excited to come back better than I ever have been." Head coach Chip Kelly won't commit yet to Foles as the starting quarterback heading into the offseason. Foles broke his collarbone Nov. 2 and missed the rest of the season.

Fantasy Tip: Foles had an extremely disappointing season this year compared to his rookie year in 2013. His performance this year is more likely indicative of what we can expect from him moving forward, making him nothing more than a solid backup QB for fantasy football owners.

Eagles | Nick Foles not guaranteed spot

Thu, 25 Dec 2014 07:10:15 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles QB Nick Foles isn't guaranteed to return as the starting quarterback next season, as head coach Chip Kelly said he would evaluate the position in the offseason. Kelly said a decision would be made based on what he has seen to date, rather than what could come to fruition in the future.

Fantasy Tip: Foles is probably the best option the team will have next season unless a better one goes on the trading block. He'll be a low QB1 option in drafts.

Mon, 22 Dec 2014 10:08:34 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles QB Nick Foles (collarbone) has been ruled out for the team's Week 17 game.

Fantasy Tip: Mark Sanchez should start tine final regular season game with Foles out. Fantasy Tip: Mark Sanchez could keep the job if he continues performing this well and could be a solid start on FantasyScore next week at the right price.

Eagles | Nick Foles on schedule

Sat, 29 Nov 2014 07:24:16 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles QB Nick Foles (collarbone) underwent a CT scan Friday, Nov. 28, which showed his broken collarbone is healing normally, according to a source. Foles still is not able to take a hit but can increase his strength exercises.

Fantasy Tip: Foles is still probably several weeks away from being cleared to play in a game, so Mark Sanchez will continue to be the starting quarterback. Sanchez has put up solid numbers as the starter and could be a starting option on FantasyScore in Week 14.
