Chiefs | Nick Foles debuts with new team

Sat, 13 Aug 2016 19:03:50 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs QB Nick Foles made his team debut in the preseason game Saturday, Aug. 13, against the Seattle Seahawks. He completed half of his eight attempts for 37 yards and he ran once for two yards.

Fantasy Tip: Foles is battling the likes of former college standouts Tyler Bray, Kevin Hogan and Aaron Murray for the backup job to Alex Smith. The winner of the backup job still has very little fantasy relevance.

Chiefs | Nick Foles terms

Thu, 04 Aug 2016 08:33:35 -0700

Updating an earlier report, Kansas City Chiefs QB Nick Foles' contract is a one-year deal with a team option for a second year. He'll earn $1.75 million with incentives in 2016. His option for 2017 ranges between $6.75 million and $16 million based on 2016 performance.

Fantasy Tip: Foles has no fantasy value unless something happens to starter Alex Smith. In the event he is pressed into duty, he could still have enough in the tank with upside in this offense to contribute in fantasy.

Chiefs | K.C. is dark horse for Nick Foles

Wed, 03 Aug 2016 19:15:25 -0700

Free-agent QB Nick Foles (Rams) is a player on the radar of the Kansas City Chiefs, and they are considered a sleeper team for his services, sources said Wednesday, Aug. 3.

Fantasy Tip: If Foles were added by the Chiefs, he would still be the backup to Alex Smith. If he lands in K.C. he would only be worth a look if Smith went down with a long-term injury.

NFL | Nick Foles expected to decide soon

Wed, 03 Aug 2016 14:15:22 -0700

Free-agent QB Nick Foles (Rams) is considering a few options and is expected to make a decision by Wednesday, Aug. 3, or Thursday, Aug. 4, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Foles likely will be a backup quarterback no matter where he plays in 2016, which means owners can avoid him in most leagues.

Cowboys | Dallas has its eye on Nick Foles

Wed, 03 Aug 2016 12:28:02 -0700

Free-agent QB Nick Foles (Rams) is of interest to the Dallas Cowboys, and they have reached out to Foles' agent, according to executive vice president Stephen Jones. However, Jones noted there are other options to replace Cowboys QB Kellen Moore (ankle), including a potential trade, but the organization is doing its due diligence.

Fantasy Tip: With Tony Romo's injury history, Foles could see fleeting value as a QB2 and potential streaming option should he land in the starting gig. Foles should sign somewhere soon, and since he's not going to be a starter initially, Dallas isn't a bad spot for his fantasy potential. He's only worth drafting as a stash candidate in SuperFlex or two-QB settings.

Cowboys | Dallas interested in Nick Foles?

Tue, 02 Aug 2016 18:25:49 -0700

Free-agent QB Nick Foles (Rams) might be of interest to the Dallas Cowboys after losing backup QB Kellen Moore (ankle) to a broken ankle. He is represented by the same agents as head coach Jason Garrett, offensive coordinator Scott Linehan and Moore.

Fantasy Tip: The Cowboys were reportedly kicking the tires on Foles before the injury to Moore, now they're in desperate need of a backup. He wouldn't have much in the way of fantasy appeal unless Tony Romo goes down with a long-term injury, but Foles could do some damage if he gets in there with Dez Bryant, Jason Witten, etc. He would be a huge upgrade over Moore and last year's backup Brandon Weeden.

49ers | San Francisco not looking at Nick Foles

Mon, 01 Aug 2016 10:49:17 -0700

Free-agent QB Nick Foles (Rams) is not an option for the San Francisco 49ers, according to head coach Chip Kelly.

Fantasy Tip: The 49ers are going with either Blaine Gabbert or Colin Kaepernick as their starting quarterback in 2016. Kaepernick would be the better option for fantasy owners but neither player is a No. 1 quarterback for owners. Foles probably will be able to find a backup job with a team during the preseason but will not have much fantasy value.

Free-agent QB Nick Foles (Rams) likely will not be an option for the Buffalo Bills because general manager Doug Whaley said the team is happy with their quarterback situation.

NFL | Dallas out on free-agent Nick Foles

Fri, 29 Jul 2016 12:23:06 -0700

Free-agent QB Nick Foles (Rams) is not an option for the Dallas Cowboys, owner/general manager Jerry Jones said Friday, July 29.

Fantasy Tip: Foles will likely start the season in a backup role, which makes him a fantasy afterthought in the majority of leagues. Although, should he find his way into a starting gig, he would return to being a low-end QB2 worth owning in two-QB leagues and a potential streaming and DFS option in favorable matchups.
