Rams | Expected to use committee backfield

Wed, 12 Jun 2013 15:38:33 -0700

St. Louis Rams offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer said the team is expected to use a committee approach in the backfield this year between Daryl Richardson, Isaiah Pead and Zac Stacy. The overall youth in the backfield is a concern in terms of pass protection. Stacy caught the ball well during a practice session Tuesday, June 11.

Fantasy Tip: If Stacy can round out the blocking aspect of his game, he's most ready to step in as the lead back. There's an outside chance he could become this year's Alfred Morris, at least relatively, among the fantasy rookies. Richardson and Pead are still worth middle-round speculation, as well, but this could be a messy arrangement in the early going.

Thu, 06 Jun 2013 12:10:09 -0700

St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher said he is pleased with how RB Isaiah Pead has reacted to a one-game suspension. "He obviously has to suffer the consequences and miss the game. But I'm pleased with how he's bounced back and his professional approach to being a member of this team." Fisher said Pead missing Week 1 will not complicate sorting out the depth chart at running back.

Rams | Isaiah Pead suspended

Fri, 31 May 2013 13:00:47 -0700

St. Louis Rams RB Isaiah Pead was suspended for the first game of the 2013 season for violating the NFL program on substance abuse.

Fantasy Tip: Pead is trying to win the Rams starting job, and will have his work cut out for him even more with this news. Daryl Richardson, Terrance Ganaway and Zac Stacy should all be in the mix for the Week 1 start.

Rams | Isaiah Pead might see more game reps

Tue, 06 Nov 2012 18:02:08 -0800

St. Louis Rams RB Isaiah Pead showed well late in the Week 8 game against the New England Patriots, and head coach Jeff Fisher indicated he might have earned more playing time. "We are going to try to get him some touches. It makes sense. You are playing in an NFL game; you are playing against NFL players and for him to flash like that regardless of the situation in the game was pretty impressive," Fisher said.
