Tue, 18 Mar 2014 09:43:41 -0700

The New York Giants agreed to terms with WR Mario Manningham (49ers) on a one-year deal Tuesday, March 18. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Fantasy Tip: Manningham will have to learn a new offense, and will have to prove that he can stay on the field. He is likely behind Rueben Randle and Jerrel Jernigan ahead of him on the depth chart. At best he is a No. 4 wide receiver.

Giants | Rueben Randle, Jerrel Jernigan to showcase their skills

Fri, 20 Dec 2013 16:46:26 -0800

New York Giants WRs Rueben Randle and Jerrel Jernigan (knee) will see more opportunities in the final two regular season games with WR Victor Cruz (knee) done for the season. Randle has already had success this year, scoring six touchdowns through 14 games after scoring three all of last year. He has 37 grabs for 571 yards. Jernigan is questionable for Week 16 against the Detroit Lions but said he was "feeling all right." Jernigan, who had seven catches for 57 yards last week, would likely replace Cruz in the slot position.

Fantasy Tip: Randle will see plenty of attention from the Detroit Lions secondary with Cruz out, but he could be plenty useful as a WR3 or flex in Week 16. Jernigan is more of a shot in the dark.

Giants | No practice for Victor Cruz

Thu, 19 Dec 2013 09:33:55 -0800

New York Giants WR Victor Cruz (concussion, knee) is not participating in practice Thursday, Dec. 19.

Fantasy Tip: With Cruz missing practice again, it is becoming even less likely he will play. Hakeem Nicks, Jerrel Jernigan, and Rueben Randle would all likely see more work as a result.

Wed, 18 Dec 2013 12:26:47 -0800

The New York Giants may consider placing WR Victor Cruz (knee, concussion) on Injured Reserve because of his knee injury and concussion. If he is placed on IR, WR Rueben Randle likely would become the No. 2 wide receiver with WR Jerrel Jernigan being the No. 3 wide receiver.

Giants | Victor Cruz unlikely to play

Wed, 18 Dec 2013 10:24:27 -0800

New York Giants WR Victor Cruz (knee, concussion) is not practicing Wednesday, Dec. 18, and head coach Tom Coughlin said Cruz's knee "will probably prevent (Cruz) from doing anything." The Giants are more concerned with his knee than his concussion.

Fantasy Tip: It's looking like a long shot that Cruz will play this weekend against the Detroit Lions. Upgrade Reuben Randle and Hakeem Nicks in your weekly rankings. Randle has more upside for championship week.

Giants | Rueben Randle posts touchdown

Mon, 21 Oct 2013 21:06:21 -0700

New York Giants WR Rueben Randle had just three receptions for 40 yards in the Week 7 game against the Minnesota Vikings Monday, Oct. 21, but he was able to reel in a 24-yard touchdown grab in the second quarter.

Fantasy Tip: There weren't many fantasy stars in this ugly game, but Randle at least made his owners happy with the score. He remains nothing more than a WR3/4 or flex play in leagues of 12 or more teams going forward.

Mon, 14 Oct 2013 15:19:47 -0700

The New York Giants are not currently shopping WR Hakeem Nicks on the trade block, according to a source with knowledge of the team's plans.

Giants | Rueben Randle ready for bigger role

Wed, 24 Jul 2013 09:53:56 -0700

New York Giants WR Rueben Randle turned heads during the offseason program, and he is ready for a bigger role in the offense behind WRs Victor Cruz and Hakeem Nicks. However, Randle is not locked into the third receiver job yet, as he needs to hold off WRs Ramses Barden, Jerrel Jernigan and Louis Murphy, among others.

Fantasy Tip: Randle has the most upside of any of the competitors for the No. 3 job, and with a good season he could make the injury-prone Nicks expendable after this season. For fantasy purposes, Randle is a nice later round addition on draft day. He is potentially just more Nicks injury or setback away from starting.

Giants | Rueben Randle earning rave reviews

Thu, 13 Jun 2013 15:50:05 -0700

New York Giants WR Rueben Randle became QB Eli Manning's primary target during the absences of WRs Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz, who's still not at camp because of contract discussions. "His whole demeanor, his whole professionalism was outstanding," offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride said of Randle. "Not only did he grow, he kind of became the bell cow of the receiving corps. ... Oh, he's gonna play. He's gonna play a lot [in 2013]." Randle's versatility in where to line up should help his playing time.

Fantasy Tip: Let's wait until later this summer before we bolster Randle's stock significantly, but his late-rounds-flyer status looks to be pretty solid as of today.

"I'm a lot more confident in what I do," he said. "Going out there and making more plays, understanding the offense and more on the same page with Eli. And also, getting more trust from the coaches, and going out there and getting more reps so I can show my ability more."

Giants | Rueben Randle impressing

Thu, 30 May 2013 13:57:55 -0700

New York Giants WR Rueben Randle is impressing at organized team activities. Randle has lined up with the first team due to WRs Victor Cruz and Hakeem Nicks not attending practices. "He's moving in that direction," head coach Tom Coughlin said. "He certainly has had many, many opportunities, and if there's a guy that really has a chance to step his game up and really show what he can do, it's happening right now for Rueben."

Giants | Wide receiver notes

Wed, 29 May 2013 09:53:54 -0700

New York Giants WR Louis Murphy has stood out in OTAs so far. He was given plenty of deep routes in a recent workout. Head coach Tom Coughlin said he'll have a better impression of Rueben Randle after several more practice days.

Fantasy Tip: Targets among secondary NYG WRs could often produce solid fill-in weeks to account for byes or injuries, and Murphy looks primed to be the main option for a dice roll among the group. However, shifting gameplans will most likely make speculating on someone beneath Victor Cruz, Hakeem Nicks and Brandon Myers a frustrating weekly gambit.

New York Giants WR Rueben Randle had a pair of catches for 26 yards and his first career touchdown reception in the Week 12 game against the Green Bay Packers.

Fantasy Tip: The Giants have been waiting for someone to step up as the team's third receiver, and Randle might be that guy. Still, despite the touchdown, he is only worth a roster spot in the deepest of fantasy leagues at this point.
