The Minnesota Vikings no longer want CB Antoine Winfield to serve as a full-time player. The team wants to go with CBs Josh Robinson and Chris Cook with Winfield in the slot in the nickel defense.

Minnesota Vikings CB Chris Cook (arm) is dealing with a broken arm, not a broken wrist, as was previously reported. Cook will need surgery that is expected to keep him out for seven to eight weeks, which means the team will likely place him on the Injured Reserve/Designated to Return. CB Josh Robinson replaced Cook in the game Thursday, Oct. 25, and figures to start as long as Cook is sidelined. CB Bobby Felder could replace Cook on the active roster.

Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier said the team is not ready to name CB Josh Robinson as a full-time starter even though he started ahead of CB Antoine Winfield Week 5. Robinson is seeing more time because the team wants to keep Winfield fresh throughout the season.
