Green Bay Packers LB Clay Matthews has moved from left to right outside linebacker to make way for LB Nick Perry. The team, however, plans to move Matthews around more than ever this season. "I hope so. That's the plan," Matthews said. "It's all about mismatches and preferable lineups. Whenever we can take advantage of that, playing on the right side, left side, middle, wherever you want me to play, we're all about that, so I hope that's the case."

Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Dom Capers said the biggest learning curve for LB Nick Perry will be understanding how to drop back and play in coverage. "I don't think the power part and the physical part will be any problem for him," Capers said. "His greatest learning will probably come in coverage and what we ask him to do there."

Green Bay Packers outside linebackers coach Kevin Greene said Thursday, April 26, that LB Nick Perry will immediately be thrust into the competition for a starting job at right outside linebacker, a position which the team saw a committee last season. "I think you always hope that through competition that that guy will surface," Greene said. "Nick will come right in and we'll throw him right into the competition of things and give him a chance to go out and show us what he can do."

The Green Bay Packers tabbed LB Nick Perry with their first-round pick in the NFL Draft Thursday, April 26. When asked what's the first thing that comes to mind when you hear 'Green Bay', his answer was simple. "Super Bowls," Perry said. He said the Packers were the first team he heard from in the green room Thursday. "I didn't talk to no one before that. It was very quiet for me. I just tried to keep my composure."
