Broncos | Ronnie Hillman will see more reps

Tue, 25 Aug 2015 08:01:34 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Ronnie Hillman will receive more repetitions in the offense, according to head coach Gary Kubiak. "He's moved himself up. He's had a really good camp," Kubiak said. "He deserves more reps and if he keeps playing like that he'll continue to get some more."

Fantasy Tip: Hillman has 120 yards on 16 carries this preseason and has vault himself into RB4 or RB5 territory.

Broncos | Ronnie Hillman likes new offense

Mon, 24 Aug 2015 13:31:33 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Ronnie Hillman has worked his way the second running back position behind RB C.J. Anderson. Hillman said head coach Gary Kubiak's zone-blocking scheme has helped his play. "It opens up holes… I'm getting some lanes," Hillman said.

Fantasy Tip: Hillman has gone from possibly being cut to the No. 2 running back. He has really flashed this preseason and deserves to be in the position he is in. Anderson will receive the majority of playing time as long as he's healthy, but Hillman could be used more than people think.

Broncos | Ronnie Hillman to make final roster?

Mon, 24 Aug 2015 12:43:41 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Ronnie Hillman could make the final roster if he continues to play the way he has, according to Jeff Legwold of

Fantasy Tip: Hillman has really impressed this preseason. It was originally projected that he would not make the final 53-man roster. He won't have a lot of fantasy value as long as C.J. Anderson is healthy. Plus he has Montee Ball and Juwan Thompson to contend with. If an injury occurs, though, he could make for a deep sleeper.

Broncos | Ronnie Hillman not every down back

Wed, 05 Aug 2015 20:10:43 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Ronnie Hillman does not profile as an every down back, although he still showed quickness and toughness when given the chance to fill in.

Fantasy Tip: Hillman is likely to be the second or third running back behind C.J. Anderson, but as we saw last season he can handle his business when given the chance. He is only worth a look as a late-round flier in standard fantasy formats right now.

Broncos | C.J. Anderson starts as top RB

Tue, 16 Jun 2015 11:27:51 -0700

Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson will begin training camp as the starting running back. Head coach Gary Kubiak said it's his job to hang on to. Kubiak also added that RBs Montee Ball and Ronnie Hillman have had solid offseasons and will make the running back battle competitive.

Fantasy Tip: It's no surprise that Anderson is the lead running back right now as he ran for 849 yards and eight touchdowns while starting just eight games last year. If Anderson can hold on to his starting position, he has low-end RB1 upside.

Broncos | Montee Ball eyes starting role

Thu, 30 Apr 2015 12:22:23 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Montee Ball is confident that he will regain the lead-back role with the team, but admitted that RB C.J. Anderson deserves the job right now. Ball is currently behind Anderson and RB Ronnie Hillman on the depth chart. Ball blames an appendectomy in August of last year for weakening his core, which then led to a torn right groin that put him on Injured Reserve. He had just 172 yards on 55 carries and a touchdown in 2014. Ball started feeling better in February and has spent the last three months working on his flexibility with a personal trainer.

Fantasy Tip: Ball has plenty of work to do, but at least he's in a system that could really benefit him if he finds himself on the field often. Unfortunately, that'll probably have to come at the expense of an injury or poor play for Anderson or Hillman. Ball won't be a draft consideration in standard fantasy leagues this fall unless something drastic happens over the summer.

Broncos | Denver RB competition fierce

Fri, 27 Mar 2015 16:25:20 -0700

Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson, who finished 2014 with 648 rushing yards in the last six games, will enter the 2015 season at the top of the running back depth chart, according to new head coach Gary Kubiak. However, competition will be fierce for touches in training camp, with RBs Montee Ball and Ronnie Hillman still around. Ball vowed "to get back my job" at the end of last season after landing on the Injured Reserve. Hillman is a wild card, and he has yet to top 106 carries in any one season. RB Juwan Thompson is a possibility as a fullback/running back hybrid.

Fantasy Tip: Because of what he did last year, Anderson is the favorite to be the bell-cow back in Kubiak's system, which has produced plenty of successful runners. Anderson will likely be overvalued in 2015 fantasy football drafts, but he could be the X-factor on your roster, depending on whether he can hold off the other runners in Denver.

Broncos | Ronnie Hillman could return

Fri, 26 Dec 2014 15:53:49 -0800

Denver Broncos RB Ronnie Hillman (foot) practiced in full for the third straight day Friday, Dec. 26, and is probable for Week 17 against the Oakland Raiders. "He has good burst, good explosion, same things that you saw before the injury. He looks to be back in that form," said head coach John Fox. "We will see how it goes. He hasn't played football in about six weeks or so always get a little nervous about that but he has had a good week of preparation." Fox said the team will know roughly 90 minutes before kickoff if Hillman will be active. Offensive coordinator Adam Gase said the team would play to Hillman's strengths if he's active.

Fantasy Tip: If Hillman returns against the Raiders this weekend, he'll likely be eased back in, with C.J. Anderson continuing as the team's lead back. That makes Hillman a very risky option at FantasyScore in Week 17. It's best to hold off and see how Denver uses him if he's active.

Broncos | Ronnie Hillman practices

Thu, 25 Dec 2014 15:21:01 -0800

Denver Broncos RB Ronnie Hillman (foot) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 25.

Fantasy Tip: Hillman should have a role in the offense in Week 17, but it may be a limited role since he has missed several weeks of the season. Owners on FantasyScore probably should be able to find better options to use.
