Seahawks | Sprained MCL for Russell Wilson?

Sun, 25 Sep 2016 17:01:40 -0700

Updating a previous report, Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson (knee) is believed to have a sprained medial collateral ligament in his knee. That is the initial belief after the Week 3 game against the San Francisco 49ers. He will undergo further testing.

Fantasy Tip: It sounds like Wilson's injury is a bit more serious and he might be looking at some time off. If so, that's good news for the likes of Thomas Rawls and Christine Michael, who might be asked to shoulder more of the load on offense. It's not great news for Doug Baldwin and the receivers, who would have rookie Trevone Boykin throwing to them.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson nursing knee injury

Sun, 25 Sep 2016 15:17:13 -0700

Updating a previous report, Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson (ankle, knee) suffered a knee injury in the Week 3 game against the San Francisco 49ers, he did not aggravate his ankle injury. Rookie QB Trevone Boykin replaced him and will finish up the game, according to the team.

Fantasy Tip: It's been a difficult season for Wilson and his fantasy owners so far. He will not return to the game with a giant lead late in the third quarter, and it wouldn't be surprising to see Wilson sit again in Week 4 if he doesn't make tremendous improvement throughout the week.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson getting treatment

Sun, 25 Sep 2016 15:16:41 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson (ankle) left the Week 3 game against the San Francisco 49ers and he is receiving treatment on the sidelines, likely for the ankle injury he has been dealing with the past two weeks. Rookie QB Trevone Boykin replaced him.

Fantasy Tip: With the game out of hand it is likely we won't see Wilson again for the remainder of the day. Fantasy should be worried about this ongoing situation, as Wilson doesn't seem to be getting healthier and might be forced to miss a game or two to rest his injury.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson not on injury report

Fri, 23 Sep 2016 19:06:54 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson (ankle) was a full participant in practice Friday, Sept. 23, and was not listed on the injury report for Week 3 against the San Francisco 49ers.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson struggled in Week 2 while playing through a high-ankle sprain, and there is no way to tell how close to 100 percent he is for Week 3. He is still worth starting in standard formats against the 49ers unless you have a high-end backup, but he is a risky play in DFS formats.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson a full go

Thu, 22 Sep 2016 21:45:27 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson (ankle) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Sept. 22.

Fantasy Tip: The Seahawks are struggling to find a rhythm on offense, and Wilson's ankle sprain probably isn't helping matters. Unless you have a high-end backup, continue to start him in standard leagues, but he should be avoided in DFS formats.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson fully practices

Wed, 21 Sep 2016 17:46:49 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson (ankle) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Sept. 21.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson was able to play last week despite the injury but was not able to do much in terms of running during the game. Wilson should still be a starting option in all fantasy leagues, but owners may want to lower their expectations because of the injury.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson to run less in Week 2

Sat, 17 Sep 2016 11:05:20 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson (ankle) is expected to work from the pocket much more than usual in Week 2 versus the Los Angeles Rams, according to ESPN's Sheil Kapadia.

Fantasy Tip: Utilizing Wilson's athletic ability is a huge part of the Seahawks' offense, but it is not as if he can't operate in the pocket. Given his ankle injury, it will likely be the way he'll have to play in Week 2. Doug Baldwin, Tyler Lockett and Jermaine Kearse should all see plenty of work this week, but Wilson probably needs to be treated as a low-end QB1 versus the Rams since his mobility figures to be compromised.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson on track to play

Fri, 16 Sep 2016 17:09:24 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 16, and is not on the injury report for Week 2.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson will be in uniform for Week 2, but it is not known if his ankle will limit him in any way. He will have a favorable matchup this week and should be a starting option in all fantasy leagues.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson a full go

Thu, 15 Sep 2016 19:17:12 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson (ankle) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Sept. 15.

Fantasy Tip: Stick with Wilson in standard formats, but since he may be a bit hobbled, you may want to look elsewhere in DFS formats.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson will play in Week 2

Thu, 15 Sep 2016 15:47:01 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson (ankle) said he'll be "ready to roll" against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 2.

Fantasy Tip: The Los Angeles defense didn't really show up last week, but there's still plenty of talent on that side of the football. Wilson can succeed against anyone and is still in QB1 territory, but expectations should be tempered. His ankle may not be 100 percent and the Rams will want to take out their anger on the subpar offensive line Seattle has.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson practices in full

Wed, 14 Sep 2016 17:52:06 -0700

Updating a previous report, Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson (ankle) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Sept. 14.

Fantasy Tip: It appears that Wilson is on track to play in Week 2, but owners should continue to monitor his practice participation. Wilson should still be a starting option in fantasy leagues, but he may not run as much as he would when healthy.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson will practice

Wed, 14 Sep 2016 12:49:20 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson (ankle) will participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 14, according to head coach Pete Carroll.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson could be limited during practice during the week but appears to be on track to play in Week 2. He will be a risky option for owners because of the injury but will have a favorable matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson should play

Mon, 12 Sep 2016 11:24:48 -0700

Updating a previous report, Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson (ankle) should be able to play against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 2, according to head coach Pete Carroll. Carroll said Wilson did have some swelling in his sprained ankle but that he would make it through. There was no structural damage revealed in Wilson's X-rays.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson struggled in Week 1 and he was clearly affected by the ankle injury. Don't be surprised if Wilson is limited in practice throughout the week. His status should be monitored, but for now he's still a QB1 consideration.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson's ankle injury not serious

Mon, 12 Sep 2016 10:13:09 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson (ankle) suffered a sprained ankle in a week one win over the Miami Dolphins, but head coach Pete Carroll said it was "nothing very serious".

Fantasy Tip: Wilson has yet to miss the start in his five NFL seasons, so it seems unlikely this ailment will keep him from suiting up in Week 2 after NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported Monday morning his availability against the Los Angeles Rams was in question. Given how well the Rams usually play the Seahawks and the fact could be less than 100 percent, consider Wilson a low-end QB1 in this matchup.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson in question for Week 2

Mon, 12 Sep 2016 05:30:18 -0700

Updating a previous report, Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson (ankle) has a significant enough of a sprained ankle that his Week 2 status in question, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Trevone Boykin is his backup, but he warrants no fantasy merit yet. Wilson could gut it out, but his upside against the Los Angeles Rams defense was iffy at full strength.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson injures ankle

Sun, 11 Sep 2016 21:56:48 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson (ankle) suffered an ankle injury in the Week 1 game against the Miami Dolphins. He was able to finish the game, but said Sunday, Sept. 11, after the game that he was sore. He also needed X-rays after the game, but wasn't terribly concerned. "It feels a little sore, but I'll be all right," Wilson said. He finished with 258 yards, one touchdown and one interception in the win.

Fantasy Tip: If he is healthy, Wilson will face a difficult Los Angeles Rams defense in their regular season home debut. If you have other options it might be best to use them until Wilson is 100 percent again. Trevone Boykin would start if Wilson is ever forced to miss time.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson could have running room

Sat, 10 Sep 2016 19:21:11 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson faces the Miami Dolphins in Week 1, and Miami's cornerbacks have been instructed to stick with their receivers rather than pursue Wilson during plays.

Fantasy Tip: Miami's strategy could help prevent Wilson from hitting big passes on broken plays, but it could also allow the quarterback to run wild if Miami's defensive line can't keep Wilson in the pocket. Either way, expect Wilson to be one of the top scorers at the quarterback spot in Week 1.

Seahawks | First-team offense to play past half

Tue, 23 Aug 2016 18:31:08 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson and the rest of the first-team offense is expected to play at least one series into the third quarter in the preseason game Thursday, Aug. 25, against the Dallas Cowboys, offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell confirmed Tuesday, Aug. 23.

Fantasy Tip: Third preseason games are when fantasy owners fret the most, because their early draft picks are exposed to injury for much more playing time in a meaningless game than in the first two exhibition games, or certainly the fourth. Hold your breath and hope Wilson and the rest of the Seattle starters make it out unscathed.

Fri, 19 Aug 2016 18:16:34 -0700

Seattle Seahawks RB Christine Michael has learned how to use his speed, according to QB Russell Wilson, and FS Earl Thomas said the game has "slowed down" for Michael. C Justin Britt said the "whole building" can see Michael's work ethic and determination.

Fantasy Tip: Michael is having a strong preseason, and it seems increasingly likely he will be given a chance to prove his worth in the regular season. He has loads of potential, and he is worth taking a chance on as a RB4.

Seahawks | Trevone Boykin remains No. 2 for now

Wed, 20 Jul 2016 23:51:14 -0700

Seattle Seahawks rookie QB Trevone Boykin remains the team's primary backup to starter QB Russell Wilson, but beat writer Sheil Kapadia says don't be surprised to see the team add a veteran sometime in August.

Fantasy Tip: Boykin was a dual-threat option at Texas Christian University, but he is a project and not expected to take over anytime soon as long as Russell Wilson is in the mix. At this point, Boykin's fantasy appeal even in long-term keeper formats is rather minimal.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson elite with protection

Tue, 19 Jul 2016 12:36:57 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson led all quarterbacks in Defense-adjusted Value Over Average (DVOA) last season when he was adequately protected, according to Football Outsiders. DVOA measures efficiency by comparing success on every play to the league average based on situation and opponent. Wilson was solid under pressure, too, ranking fourth in DVOA among quarterbacks.

Fantasy Tip: The Seahawks may not need to pass as much as they did last season, especially late last season. Wilson is still a top-tier fantasy quarterback option, though, especially with his running ability.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson has made strides

Wed, 22 Jun 2016 14:31:08 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson has made a clear step ahead this offseason, according to head coach Pete Carroll. "His command is all-time. His ability to move defenders with his eyes to set up some things, he's consistently doing that, almost unconsciously, he's so clued in," Carroll said. "We saw him throw the ball all over the field throughout the offseason and he's been strong and accurate and really precise about stuff. He has had a great offseason."

Fantasy Tip: Wilson is one of the better dual-threat quarterbacks in the league right now. He should be at least one of the first five quarterbacks taken in fantasy drafts.

Seahawks | Change in offense aided Russell Wilson

Sun, 19 Jun 2016 21:50:38 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson threw 24 touchdowns and one interception in the last seven games after the offense shifted to emphasize quicker passes, timing routes and spread formations. He was sacked 31 times in the first seven games and just 15 times in the last nine games as getting rid of the ball quickly helped negate struggles on the offensive line. Head coach Pete Carroll said to expect more of that in 2016.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson has always had Marshawn Lynch as a security blanket. Thomas Rawls impressed in a short window before breaking his ankle, but he isn't a sure thing like Beast Mode was. Wilson will have more responsibility on his shoulders to move the offense. He's a midrange option at the position in fantasy.

Seahawks | Trevone Boykin could be backup

Thu, 12 May 2016 15:47:15 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Trevone Boykin has a good shot at earning the backup quarterback position behind QB Russell Wilson, with only QB Jake Heaps with whom to compete. Head coach Pete Carroll thinks Boykin's style of play fits well with Seattle's offense and is similar to Wilson.

Fantasy Tip: Boykin does have an enticing skill set, but he won't have any fantasy value even if he earns the backup position as long as Russell Wilson is healthy.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson working with receivers

Sun, 10 Apr 2016 11:02:04 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson and WRs Tyler Lockett and Paul Richardson have been working out together at the University of Southern California.

Fantasy Tip: It's always encouraging when quarterbacks and wide receivers work together during the offseason. Lockett definitely has more upside than Richardson and is one of the more promising young deep threats in the NFL. Doug Baldwin, Lockett and Jermain Kearse figure to be Seattle's top three wide receivers. It's safer to stay away from Richardson for now.

Seahawks | Seattle wants to protect Russell Wilson

Tue, 16 Feb 2016 15:22:13 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson could lose impending free-agent OT Russell Okung and OG J.R. Sweezy in free agency, but Seattle's offseason focus will still be protecting their starting quarterback.

"I think that's a real area of focus again, so we'll be talking about it," head coach Pete Carroll said. "We've got a couple unrestricted guys [on the offensive line]. We're going to have to deal with how that works out. It's a really important area for us, of course."

Fantasy Tip: Ideally the Seahawks will re-sign both Okung and Sweezy, but that could be too tall of a task. Don't be surprised if the Seahawks draft and/or sign an offensive lineman, especially if they lose both Okung and Sweezy. Wilson was under pressure throughout the 2015 season without much time to throw without running. Nevertheless, Wilson should be viewed as a top-five fantasy quarterback in 2016.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson the Pro Bowl MVP

Mon, 01 Feb 2016 09:32:21 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson threw three first-half touchdowns in a winning effort for Team Irvin in the Pro Bowl Sunday, Jan. 31, to earn offensive Most Valuable Player honors. Wilson went 8-for-12 for 164 yards in the game.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson elevated his game to a new level in 2015, and he'll no longer be known as strictly a game manager that can make things happen with his legs. Wilson is a legitimate QB1 for fantasy drafts this fall.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson to study in offseason

Fri, 22 Jan 2016 10:36:58 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson, who led the league in passer rating (110.1) and set career highs in completion percentage (68.1%) and yards per attempt (8.3), will study defenses more this offseason, according to head coach Pete Carroll. Wilson tossed 24 touchdowns to just one interception in the final seven games of the regular season in 2015. Wilson improved against the blitz this year, too, with a 137.0 passer rating against five rushers or more in the final seven games.

"I think the first step is the knowledge," Wilson said Monday. "You want to continue to grow intellectually and master that part of it. Continue to work on that craft. I think that when you really mentally grasp the game of football, the game really, really slows down. And that's what was able to happen this year especially."

Fantasy Tip: Wilson went over 4,000 passing yards for the first time in his career as the Seahawks were forced to air it out after Marshawn Lynch went down. As a result Wilson soared to a new level, and his fantasy ceiling will be higher than ever as a legitimate QB1 in 2016.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson has an eventful game

Sun, 17 Jan 2016 14:34:24 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson went 31-for-48 for 366 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions in the divisional round playoff game against the Carolina Panthers Sunday, Jan. 17. He also rushed for 32 yards on three carries during the game.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson had a fantastic second half of the season and three at least two touchdowns in eight of his last nine games. Wilson will be a No. 1 quarterback in all leagues next season and could be an early-round option in some leagues.

NFL | Russell Wilson has Cam Newton's number

Wed, 13 Jan 2016 15:06:52 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson has a career record of 4-1 against Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton, including the playoffs. Newton and the Panthers beat Wilson and the Seahawks in Week 6 of this season, however. That was the first time Newton beat a Wilson-led Seattle squad. In those five games, Wilson has thrown seven touchdowns and three interceptions compared to Newton's four touchdowns and five interceptions. Wilson and Newton were also two of the hottest quarterbacks at the end of the season. From Week 11 to 17 Wilson threw 24 touchdowns and one interception while Newton tossed 20 scores and one interception.

Fantasy Tip: This matchup provides two of the best fantasy quarterbacks from the 2015 season. What's more intriguing about Wilson ($8,700, 17.4% of cap) and Newton ($9,000, 18.0%) facing each other is that they are two of the best running quarterbacks in football. Their respective defensive units are two of the most elite defenses in the NFL, too, so Wilson and Newton may not find as much success as they did towards the end of the season.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson has good record vs. CAR

Tue, 12 Jan 2016 14:03:26 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson holds a 3-1 record against the Carolina Panthers in his career. That one loss, however, came in Week 6 of this season.

Fantasy Tip: The wins are really all that matter for Wilson ($8,900, 17.8% of cap), but he has thrown four touchdowns and three interceptions in those four games. He did have a nice outing against them this year, though, throwing for 241 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions, and running for another 53 yards. Wilson faces a tough test in the Panthers, but he shouldn't be ruled out as your starting FantasyScore quarterback.

Sun, 10 Jan 2016 14:30:24 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson went 13-for-26 for 142 yards, one touchdown and one interception during the wild-card playoff game against the Minnesota Vikings. He also rushed for 21 yards on five carries during the game.

Fantasy Tip: The Seahawks offense did not produce much but Wilson posted decent numbers during the game. Wilson will face the Carolina Panthers in the next round but could be a decent option on FantasyScore even though the Panthers have a terrific defense.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson won't use gloves

Fri, 08 Jan 2016 10:16:26 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson doesn't plan to use a glove on his throwing hand for the wild-card game against the Minnesota Vikings Sunday, Jan. 10, where the temperature calls for a high of 4 degrees. He will instead have hand warmers in his waist pocket to heat him up between plays. Wilson also thinks the size of his hands (10 1/4 inches) will help.

Wilson has one game outdoor in below-freezing temperatures, a 24-20 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs last year when he was 20-for-32 for 178 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. He also ran eight times for 71 yards.

Fantasy Tip: It's understandable to be hesitant to use Wilson ($8,900, 17.8% of cap) at such a high price on FantasyScore in a game that will feature freezing temperatures. Wilson is used to playing in cold weather for the most part, though, so the cold weather shouldn't be a huge factor in his performance either way.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson has owned Minnesota

Thu, 07 Jan 2016 18:23:08 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson faces the Minnesota Vikings in the wild-card round of the playoffs Sunday, Jan. 10, and he has thrown eight touchdowns and no interceptions in three career meetings with the Vikings.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson ($8,900, 17.8% of cap) has been on a roll heading into the playoffs, and his history of success against Minnesota makes his salary at FantasyScore even easier to justify.

NFL | Seahawks-Vikings game to be cold

Wed, 06 Jan 2016 10:03:19 -0800

The wild-card matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and Minnesota Vikings Sunday, Jan. 10, is expected to see a temperature in Minneapolis at a high of 1 degree, not counting the 10-15 mph wind-chill factor. Both Seahawks QB Russell Wilson and Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater have fared well in cold games in their careers. Wilson is 3-2 with a 66.9 completion percentage while averaging 258.4 passing yards and a 13-2 touchdown-to-interception ratio. Bridgewater is 6-3 with a 66.5 completion percentage while averaging 191.8 passing yards and a 12-5 touchdown-to-interception ratio.

Fantasy Tip: You should never make a final decision on a fantasy player based on cold weather. While both quarterbacks have played well in their careers in cold temperatures, you have to like Wilson ($8,900, 17.8% of cap) much more in this one on FantasyScore, even at the higher price. Bridgewater ($6,100, 12.2% of cap) has finished the season strong but has the unenviable task of facing the Legion of Boom.

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson completed 21 of 30 passes for 249 and three touchdowns and ran five times for 46 yards in a 30-13 win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 15.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson has now thrown at least three touchdowns in five straight games, tallying 19 scores and no interceptions during the stretch. Throw in his running ability, and he is a must-start option at FantasyScore right now.

Seahawks | Pettine: Russell Wilson not elite

Wed, 16 Dec 2015 19:30:17 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson is not quite among the top tier of NFL quarterbacks, at least according to Cleveland Browns head coach Mike Pettine. "Would you put him there with the guys that can transcend their supporting cast? (Tom Brady), whether it's (Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Ben Roethlisberger), the ones that you would consider the two, three, four elite guys? No. But he's certainly played himself into that next tier," Pettine said Wednesday, Dec. 16.

Fantasy Tip: Why would the opposing coach open his mouth and say something potentially unflattering in the week prior to a game? It's great news for Wilson ($8,900, 17.8% of cap) FantasyScore owners and those in seasonal leagues heading into the Week 15 matchup. Wilson could enter with a chip on his shoulder, exceeding expectations.

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson has totaled 12 touchdowns (11 passing, 1 rushing) over his last three games while averaging 324.6 total yards over that span.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson has been an unstoppable force the last three weeks. His previous single-game high this year had been two touchdowns, but he has thrown at least three touchdowns in each of his last three contests. He should continue to be viewed as a solid QB1 even without Jimmy Graham.

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson has a completion percentage of 83.3% on throws inside the pocket the last two weeks. He has thrown for 554 yards, eight touchdowns and zero interceptions on those throws.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson ($7,600, 15.2% of cap) has certainly improved in recent weeks, partly due to better protection from the Seahawks' offensive line. Wilson has been given more time to throw, and he's taken advantage of that. It might be hard for Wilson to keep his momentum going against a solid Minnesota Vikings defense this week, but he still shouldn't be overlooked on FantasyScore.

Fantasy Tip: It was Wilson's first 300-yard game of the season, and after throwing 10 touchdowns in the first nine games he has eight touchdown strikes over the past two outings.

Fantasy Tip: It was Wilson's first multi-touchdown game since Week 2 at Green Bay. The three touchdowns were a season best, and his yardage total was his second-highest total of the season.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson has so-so outing

Sun, 15 Nov 2015 22:41:58 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson completed just 14 of his 32 pass attempts for 240 yards, one touchdowns and one interception in the Week 10 loss against the Arizona Cardinals. He also ran six times for a team-high 52 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson has struggled more this season than in recent years, and something just appears off with the Seattle offense. Sure, the Seahawks scored 32 points, but nearly half of those came as a result of turnovers created by the defense.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson has hurt Arizona

Fri, 13 Nov 2015 13:55:13 -0800

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson had 73 yards on 10 carries in his second matchup against the Arizona Cardinals last year. He had 88 rushing yards on six carried, including a five-yard touchdown run against them earlier in 2014.

Fantasy Tip: The Cardinals defense is no joke and will make it tough on Wilson ($7,700, 15.4% of cap) to make plays in the pocket, which means he might need to make plenty of plays on his own with his legs. Don't count Wilson out on FantasyScore as a contrarian play at home.

Seahawks | Big week for Russell Wilson?

Tue, 20 Oct 2015 19:38:35 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson will face the San Francisco 49ers in Week 7 Thursday, Oct. 22. The 49ers are last in the NFL, allowing 306.2 passing yards per game with 11 passing touchdowns and an opponent QB rating of 101.7. The 49ers have also been dinged for 24 pass plays of 20 or more yards, and six pass plays of 40 or more yards.

Fantasy Tip: Wilson ($7,800, 15.6% of cap) is a dual-threat who can beat teams with his arm and his feet. In this one, he could look downfield rather frequently, piling up plenty of yardage along the way against a very leaky pass defense.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson throwing ball quickly

Sat, 10 Oct 2015 12:01:35 -0700

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson is releasing the football quicker than he ever has. It is taking Wilson just 2.58 seconds to throw this year, according to ESPN Stats and Information. The third-year quarterback is also throwing shorter passes, averaging 6.6 yards per attempt.

Fantasy Tip: More pressure has been put on Wilson this year, literally and figuratively, with Marshawn Lynch being hampered and with a more penetrable offensive line. For the most part, Wilson ($7,800, 15.6% of cap) has been up to the task. He doesn't have the best matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals this week, but he's capable of doing well week in and week out.
