Colts | Dwayne Allen day-to-day

Mon, 24 Nov 2014 13:14:20 -0800

Indianapolis Colts TE Dwayne Allen (ankle) is considered day-to-day but looks to be trending in the right direction, according to head coach Chuck Pagano. Pagano is not sure if Allen will be able to practice this week.

Fantasy Tip: Allen missed Week 12 because of the injury, so owners should monitor his practice participation during the week to have a better of his status for Week 13.

Sun, 23 Nov 2014 09:39:05 -0800

Indianapolis Colts TE Dwayne Allen (ankle) is inactive Sunday, Nov. 23, for Week 12.

Fantasy Tip: Coby Fleener ($5,600; 11.2% of your cap) has compiled a couple of good weeks together and makes for a good lower-end TE1 on FantasyScore.

Fri, 21 Nov 2014 10:23:07 -0800

Indianapolis Colts TE Dwayne Allen (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 12 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Fantasy Tip: Coby Fleener ($5,600) will serve as the main tight end option for Andrew Luck for at least another week, and he may be one of the better plays at the position in a week that will see many of the top tight ends sitting out.

Colts | Dwayne Allen out again Thursday

Thu, 20 Nov 2014 11:27:24 -0800

Indianapolis Colts TE Dwayne Allen (ankle) missed his second straight day of practice Thursday, Nov. 20, and The Indianapolis Star's Zak Keefer would bet on Allen sitting out this weekend against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Fantasy Tip: We'd put our money on Allen sitting out, too. It's too bad, though, because the Jags have allowed 9.34 fantasy points to tight ends per game this season. That makes Coby Fleener ($5,600) a fine flier at the position at FantasyScore, for at least another week.

Colts | No practice for Dwayne Allen

Wed, 19 Nov 2014 14:01:23 -0800

Indianapolis Colts TE Dwayne Allen (ankle) did not practice Wednesday, Nov. 19.

Fantasy Tip: Allen isn't likely to play this weekend against the Jacksonville Jaguars unless he can return to practice in the next couple of days. Look to avoid him at FantasyScore. Coby Fleener, who had a big game last weekend after Allen was hurt, could be primed for another big performance against the Jags.

Colts | Dwayne Allen out this week?

Mon, 17 Nov 2014 15:01:27 -0800

Indianapolis Colts TE Dwayne Allen (ankle) will miss at least a week after suffering an ankle injury in Week 11, head coach Chuck Pagano hinted in a press conference.

Fantasy Tip: It's not official that Allen will be out against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but it's a good possibility. That means Coby Fleener should be a very nice play at FantasyScore against a weak defense.

Colts | Dwayne Allen hopes to play

Mon, 17 Nov 2014 11:39:08 -0800

Indianapolis Colts TE Dwayne Allen (ankle) said he is considered day-to-day and hopes to be able to play in Week 12 after suffering a sprained ankle in Week 11.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to see if he is able to do anything during practice this week before deciding on their lineups. Coby Fleener likely would receive more targets is Allen is not able to play.

Colts | Good news for Dwayne Allen

Mon, 17 Nov 2014 11:30:29 -0800

Indianapolis Colts TE Dwayne Allen (ankle) was diagnosed with a low ankle sprain, according to two sources. His injury isn't serious, although he could still wind up missing some time.

Fantasy Tip: Coby Fleener had a career night against the New England Patriots in Week 11, and he could carry that momentum over into Week 12 if Allen is forced to miss a game. Consider Fleener a nice, cheap option at FantasyScore if Allen misses any time.

Colts | Coby Fleener earning bigger role?

Mon, 17 Nov 2014 11:17:11 -0800

Indianapolis Colts TE Coby Fleener had a breakout game in the team's Week 11 loss to the New England Patriots, and he may be earning a bigger role in the offense, even if TE Dwayne Allen (ankle) is in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Fleener had a season-high seven catches (seven targets) for 144 yards while the Patriots seondary was focusing on shutting down the Colts receivers. It helped that Allen was hobbled in this one, but Fleener could see more consistent targets down the stretch now.

Mon, 17 Nov 2014 06:46:14 -0800

Updating an earlier report, Indianapolis Colts TE Dwayne Allen (ankle) likely suffered a high ankle sprain in Week 11.

Colts | Dwayne Allen becoming a red zone threat

Tue, 21 Oct 2014 19:18:53 -0700

Indianapolis Colts TE Dwayne Allen said he was not expecting to be as involved in the red zone as he has been this season. He has five touchdowns in seven games, and three of those scores have come on plays in the red zone.

Fantasy Tip: Although Allen shares the tight end role with Coby Fleener, Allen has been the more reliable of the two this season. He will take up 11.4% of the cap ($5,700) at FantasyScore in Week 8, and he is worth considering as the Colts take on a Pittsburgh defense that has already been burned by Jordan Cameron, Owen Daniels and Greg Olsen this year.

Colts | Dwayne Allen overcoming limitations

Tue, 21 Oct 2014 07:27:03 -0700

Indianapolis Colts TE Dwayne Allen (hip) said he is still working his way back to pre-injury form, but he looks a lot better than he did in training camp, according to beat writer Stephen Holder. Allen has 33 catches for 305 yards and five touchdowns thus far.

Fantasy Tip: Allen ($5,700; 11.4% of your cap) has been a solid value buy at tight end on FantasyScore and could receive a boost if WR Reggie Wayne (elbow) misses time.

Colts | Dwayne Allen will help offense be more creative

Thu, 10 Jul 2014 10:17:27 -0700

Indianapolis Colts TE Dwayne Allen's return will allow the offense be more creative this upcoming season, according to tight ends coach Alfredo Roberts. "It makes us a better football team," Roberts said. "Getting him back is like getting a brand new player. (Allen) gives you a chance to do some other things. His skillset allows us to protect it up, or throw it or run it when we see the advantage. He gives us an advantage because he can do some things in the backfield, do some things in-line where [TE Coby Fleener] we feel like has blossomed as an outside guy. It gives you a little more of a chance to be creative."

Indianapolis Colts TE Dwayne Allen (hip) is running at full speed at organized team activities. Colts LB Erik Walden said Allen still had his burst and speed.

Fantasy Tip: Allen is a deep TE2 flier, with limited upside, because of a crowded Colts' passing attack.

Indianapolis Colts TE Dwayne Allen (hip) will miss the rest of the season because he is scheduled to undergo hip surgery.

Fantasy Tip: Coby Fleener will become the Colts' starting tight end with the loss of Allen. Fleener has had a solid start to the season and should become more involved in the passing game. He should be considered a borderline starter most weeks that could be a flex option as well.

Indianapolis Colts TE Dwayne Allen (hip) is listed as questionable for Week 2, but it's not looking good for his chances to play.

Fantasy Tip: Coby Fleener's value will shoot up if Allen doesn't play, as expected. The Miami Dolphins have a stout pass rush, so Fleener could be used as an extra blocker on occasion. Keep that in mind.
