Carolina Panthers WRs Corey Brown, Stephen Hill, Brenton Bersin, Kevin Norwood and Damiere Byrd will compete for two roster spots during training camp.
Fantasy Tip: Brown should be one of the favorites to earn a roster spot with a solid preseason and could be a late-round option in deeper leagues. Hill, Bersin and Norwood will compete for the other spot, but none of the players will be strong fantasy options.

Carolina Panthers WR Stephen Hill is looking to resurrect his career, and wide receivers coach Ricky Proehl has raved about his work ethic so far this summer.
Fantasy Tip: Hill has a long way to go to fantasy relevance, but if he can show progress in training camp and the preseason he might be able to not only crack the 53-man roster, but work his way into a top-four receiver job. Then, he might just be an injury or two away from being worth a look in fantasy.

Carolina Panthers WR Stephen Hill (knee) only participated in some individual drills last week when the Panthers began organized team activities. Hill is still recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament he suffered last season. He doesn't want to rush his recovery, but Hill said he also wants to take his time. "I'm just trying to do all I can with what they've given me to do, and then I'll just go from there.
Fantasy Tip: Hill has a lot of work to do to carve out a role with the Panthers in 2016, that's assuming he gets to and stays at full health. It's safer not to draft Hill considering the serious injury and how inconsistent he's been throughout his career.

"He seems to be a very smart man - he might be a guy that has an opportunity to contribute for us."
Fantasy Tip: Hill has a ways to go before we find much reason for excitement, but he's a player to keep an eye on for your final roster spot in traditional leagues.

The Carolina Panthers are unlikely to bring up WR Stephen Hill from the practice squad for the divisional playoff game Saturday, Jan. 10, against the Seattle Seahawks, as WR Philly Brown (shoulder) is looking more likely to play.
Fantasy Tip: Even if Hill were to get the call, he would be nothing more than a fourth receiver for the Panthers, and a bulk of his time would like be on special teams. It is nothing for FantasyScore owners to bother with one way or the other.

Free-agent WR Stephen Hill's agent, Alan Herman, said that Hill never had a chance to succeed with the New York Jets. "He didn't have a chance that first year with that whole Tim Tebow-Mark Sanchez fiasco," Herman said. "His second year, Geno Smith was learning how to play quarterback. So they never threw the ball deep because they wanted to simplify things for Geno."
Fantasy Tip: Hill will likely land with another team before the season begins, but he is unlikely to make a fantasy impact regardless of where he ends up.
Sat, 30 Aug 2014 17:30:59 -0700
Free-agent WR Stephen Hill's agent believes the Cleveland Browns will put in a claim for Hill. "I would think the Browns would put in a claim," the agent said. "(Head coach Mike) Pettine knows him and they need receivers and Stephen can stretch the field."
Fantasy Tip: Cleveland could use a deep threat in the passing game with Josh Gordon suspended for the season, but even if Hill signs, he is unlikely to make enough of an impact to warrant the attention of fantasy owners.

Fantasy Tip: Hill has raw ability but has not yet rounded out his physical tools. He's someone to watch during the season in case it all clicks, but it's looking like a long process. His QB situation won't do him any favors.

Offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg and wide receivers coach Sanjay Lal have worked with Hill on controlling strides and changing direction in order to better control his speed.
Fantasy Tip: It's positive news for Hill, but for a notorious underachiever, there's still a lot to prove. He's currently undraftable unless he makes strides in training camp.
Fri, 20 Jun 2014 19:58:17 -0700
New York Jets WR Stephen Hill had a solid minicamp, moving well and catching the passes thrown his way.
Fantasy Tip: Considering injuries and drops have been the main issues for the former second-round pick, his performance in minicamp was at least a step in the right direction. That being said, fantasy owners should still make Hill prove himself during the regular season before taking a chance on him.
Wed, 18 Jun 2014 13:17:00 -0700
New York Jets offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg believes the team's receiving corps is extremely deep and has more than a handful of guys who can play at a real high level.

Tue, 17 Jun 2014 15:00:45 -0700
New York Jets WR Stephen Hill's roster spot is on the line this summer after two lackluster seasons and knee problems. Hill worked with QB Geno Smith in the offseason in order to improve their chemistry, and Hill has been receiving first-ream repetitions in minicamp. He didn't have surgery on his knees in the offseason but spent his time strengthening the muscles in his knees. "My knee actually feels better than it did last year," Hill said. "Because last year I didn't take a lot of OTA reps and I went all through OTAs and now minicamp, so right now I feel strictly 100 percent." The Jets have plenty of options at wide receiver if Hill doesn't work out. He caught 24 balls for 342 yards and a touchdown last season.
Fantasy Tip: Unless Hill plays out of his mind in minicamp and training camp, he's likely to be buried on the wide receiver depth chart behind the likes of Eric Decker, Jeremy Kerley and David Nelson. Avoid Hill in all fantasy leagues.

Thu, 12 Jun 2014 18:43:52 -0700
New York Jets WR Stephen Hill still has a chance to become a consistent part of the team's offense, according to receivers coach Sanjay Lal. Hill has battled injuries in each of his first two seasons, and Lal believes the injuries are a big reason why he has struggled to make an impact. "If he can maintain his health, I can see him becoming consistent," Lal said. "Because to become consistent, you have to practice. And you have to practice without thinking about, 'Am I going to get hurt?' or 'Is this hurting?'"
Fantasy Tip: Hill has always possessed the physical tools to make an impact in the NFL, but drops and injuries have prevented him from contributing much. Lal may still have confidence in Hill at this point, but fantasy owners have little reason to share his confidence. It is doubtful he will be worthy of a starting spot in any fantasy format this year.
Thu, 22 May 2014 15:21:41 -0700
New York Jets QB Geno Smith is working out in Florida with Jets WRs Jeremy Kerley, Jacoby Ford, Stephen Hill and Greg Salas.
Fantasy Tip: Well, it can't hurt Smith's fantasy value. None of the receivers involved are necessarily fantasy targets, but Hill and Kerley could emerge as waiver wire additions. Will Smith improve enough to win the job and the hearts of fantasy owners? "Doubtful" seems like a kind response.

We'll see how it progresses."
